Chapter 160: Chapter 160: You Think You’re Worthy?

The full-moon ceremony continued into the afternoon. After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, they headed toward the Wishing Pond. The large procession marched forward, startling a flock of birds in the woods into flight. By the time they arrived, everyone was holding a small red flower.

Tyler and Ophelia led their three little dragon cubs by the hand, walking up to the edge of the Cold Pond to teach them how to toss their small red flowers into the water.

"I hope my cubs will grow up healthy and strong," Ophelia said.

"I hope my cubs will grow up safe and sound," Tyler added.

After the two finished making their wishes, the others stepped forward one by one to offer their blessings to the dragon cubs. Once everyone had tossed their small red flowers, the surface of the Wishing Pond was covered in a blanket of red blooms.

Just as the crowd was preparing to leave, a male voice from behind stopped them in their tracks.

"Wait a moment. The dragon cubs haven’t received our blessing yet."

Everyone’s attention was drawn to the voice, and they turned to look. They saw Soro walking toward them, accompanied by a young male.

"Soro, what are you doing here?" Leon, the Clan Leader of the Golden Dragon Clan, demanded, his expression changing drastically at the sight of the man. He took a step forward to block Ophelia and Rebecca, staring at the newcomers with wary eyes.

Soro looked at him and smiled amiably. "Clan Leader of the Golden Dragon Clan, there’s no need to be so tense. After all, we were once related by marriage.

"I’m here, of course, to attend the full-moon ceremony for Ophelia’s cubs."

Tyler scoffed coldly. "Princess, we already said that the people of the Snow Wolf Clan didn’t need to attend the cubs’ full-moon ceremony."

Laxus was equally furious. "Can’t you understand plain words? Get the hell out of here!"

Beside Soro, Kosa’s lips curled upward upon seeing their intense reactions. "We really are here to congratulate the cubs on their full moon. Why act like this? It wouldn’t be good for anyone if word got out that we caused such an unpleasant scene."

Kosa had a smile on his lips, but his expression carried none of that warmth. His gray eyes were fixed intently on Ali, who stood beside Laxus.

Ali felt a chill run down her spine under his gaze and fearfully hid behind Laxus. She grabbed his arm and whispered, "Laxus, I’m scared."

Laxus furrowed his brows and turned sideways, shielding Ali from Kosa’s malicious stare.

Ophelia’s face darkened. "Soro, what are you trying to do?"

Soro maintained his amiable smile, completely masking his despicable and cunning true nature. "Ophelia, what a thing to say. Although you’ve given birth to new cubs, you can’t just ignore the cub you had with Loki."

"What do you mean?" Ophelia asked. Having not heard news of Amy for many days, suddenly hearing her name brought the realization that she still had another daughter.

Hearing that his mother had another cub, Kohen instinctively turned his head to look at Ophelia. They had an older sister or brother? Why had he never heard his parents mention this before?

Ophelia tightened her grip on Wendy, whom she was holding. "Amy no longer has anything to do with me."

"Ophelia, why must you be so heartless? No matter what, Amy is still a piece of your own flesh and blood. How can you just abandon her like that?" Soro said.

"That’s right, Ophelia. It’s been so long since you last saw each other. Amy misses you very much," Kosa added, standing to the side with his arms crossed and an eyebrow raised.

Ophelia felt a wave of disgust at his words. The idea that Amy would miss her was pure delusion.

Meanwhile, in the shadows of the trees out of everyone’s sight, Amy’s spirit drifted in the air. Hearing her mother deny their relationship once again, she felt a dull ache in her heart. It was her fault. She was the one who had wronged her mother.

Ever since her death, she had been staying by Ophelia’s side in this spiritual form. Watching her mother act so gently and considerately toward the other cubs brought a sense of sorrow to her heart, because her mother used to treat her the exact same way. She just hadn’t known how to cherish it and had ended up breaking her mother’s heart.

"Ophelia, Amy is also your cub. You can’t play favorites to such an extreme," Soro said.

"What are you trying to say?" Ophelia asked, staring at Soro with furrowed brows.

"Loki is dead, and so is the feud between us. Therefore, we don’t plan on holding grudges anymore.

"How about this? Let your son become mates with Amy, bringing our families even closer together. I can even pass the position of Clan Leader of the Snow Wolf Clan to your son. What do you think?"

Since her death, Amy had come to realize that her father and grandfather were not good people at all. Although she didn’t understand why her grandfather was saying this, she knew he was definitely plotting something wicked again.

She instinctively shouted, "Mother, don’t agree to it!"

But no one could hear her voice. No matter how loudly she yelled, it was all in vain.

Ophelia scoffed coldly. Giving the clan leader position to her son was nothing more than an excuse to have her prop up the Snow Wolf Clan.

"I think it’s a terrible idea!"

"Ophelia, don’t be ungrateful. My father has offered you such generous terms, and you actually refuse? Don’t push your luck," Kosa snapped.

Kosa had never been a kind person to begin with. If it weren’t for the large crowd present today, he would have dropped his act a long time ago. Ophelia’s repeated rejection of Soro’s overtures left him feeling deeply irritated, and his suppressed anger finally erupted. He kicked a branch on the ground away, his eyes glinting fiercely.

"Today, you will either agree to let Amy and your son become mates, or let Ali become my mate."

Ophelia was somewhat speechless. Either way, the Snow Wolf Clan wasn’t going to take a loss, were they?

"And if we don’t agree?"

"I refuse."

Ophelia and Laxus spoke at the exact same time.

"If you don’t agree, then we’ll show you the power of the Snow Wolf Clan. Ophelia, your powerful mate is already gone. Without him here, let’s see who can help you now."

Kosa waved his hand, and a group of males who had been hiding in the shadows leaped out. Ophelia’s eyes narrowed slightly when she saw the bows and arrows in the hands of the Snow Wolf Clan males. No wonder Soro and the others were so confident today—they came prepared.

Hearing Kosa’s thinly veiled threat, the corner of Ophelia’s mouth twitched.

"You’re nothing but a lowly snow wolf, yet you dare to bark here!" a male’s frosty voice rang out from behind the crowd.

In the next second, a chorus of agonized male wails echoed out.

"How can this be?"

Seeing the males of his tribe being pinned to the ground one by one by tigers, Kosa’s face turned dark.

"Who are you, and why are you helping Ophelia?" Kosa demanded, his face contorted as he glared at the young male slowly walking over.

The moment Ali saw her brother appear, her eyes immediately lit up. "Klein, you’re finally here!" Ali cried excitedly, throwing herself into Klein’s arms.

Kosa was dumbfounded. "You are the White Tiger King."

Klein raised an eyebrow. "You want to marry my sister?"

Radiating the commanding aura of a ruler, Klein fixed Kosa with a glacial stare. Kosa, who had always been fearless, suddenly felt a chill rise from the soles of his feet.

He forced himself to stay calm. "White Tiger King, I like Ali, and my strength is not lacking. I will also be the Clan Leader of the Snow Wolf Clan in the future. I want to become her mate."

With a gaze that seemed to look down upon all living things, Klein shot him a disdainful glance.

"You think you’re worthy?

"If you dare to pester Ali again, the Clan Leader of your Snow Wolf Clan can prepare to step down.

"Furthermore, Ophelia is my mate. I don’t want to hear of her having any remaining ties to your Snow Wolf Clan."
