I Dumped My Mate—Now Every Beast King Wants Me
Chapter 124: Dragon Cubs Are Not an Alien Species
Chapter 124: Chapter 124: Dragon Cubs Are Not an Alien Species
Ophelia’s voice was ice-cold, devoid of the slightest hesitation. Zerev also sensed something off about his own condition, knowing they couldn’t drag this out any longer. Loki’s expression shifted when he heard Ophelia’s words. He pleaded for mercy as he fled. "Ophelia, please spare me! I swear I won’t tell anyone your secret! I’ll never do it again!"
Things having reached this point, there was no way Ophelia would believe him anymore. She merely exchanged a glance with Tyler and joined the effort to corner Loki. Seeing Ophelia lunging at him, Loki still hadn’t grasped the severity of the situation. Instead, a flicker of joy surged in his heart. He figured that as long as he captured her, Zerev and Tyler wouldn’t dare kill him. Thus, instead of dodging, he lunged straight back at Ophelia.
Just as his sharp claws were about to reach her neck, his hands were caught by her small, fair hands. Despite appearing to use no force at all, her grip sent a sharp pain shooting through his wrists. Loki’s face paled, cold sweat beading on his forehead. "Ophelia, you..." He stared at her in utter disbelief. He wondered how she could suddenly possess such terrifying strength.
Ophelia looked at Tyler and let out a soft chuckle. "Loki, you shouldn’t have underestimated the strength of a female. This is the last lesson I’ll ever teach you." With a sudden exertion of force, she cleanly snapped Loki’s wrists. At the same moment, a dragon claw pierced straight through his back, ripping out his heart and crushing it to a pulp.
As Loki collapsed to the ground, Ophelia noticed Zerev’s face turning a suffocated, bruised purple. Seeing this, she didn’t dare delay. She hurriedly muttered a silent command, pulling all three men out of her space. Of course, Loki was brought out as a corpse.
Once outside the space, Tyler and Zerev gasped violently for air. The sheer lack of oxygen had left their lungs burning so badly that every breath hurt. It took about ten minutes for their complexions to gradually return to normal.
RUSTLE, RUSTLE.
Footsteps approached from nearby, accompanied by Moye’s frantic calls. "Young Master! Young Master, where are you?"
Having finally caught his breath, Zerev was just about to call back when Ophelia suddenly grabbed his arm. He turned his head, only to see her biting her lower lip, her face pale and strained.
"Ophelia, what’s wrong?"
"My... my stomach hurts so much. I think the babies are coming." Ophelia clutched her swollen belly, feeling intense, pulsating cramps radiating through her lower abdomen.
Zerev instantly grew tense. "What should we do now? There are too few males around to mask the scent of a newborn dragon cub. The Dragon Stone in the Holy Capital will definitely sense it!"
Tyler’s expression darkened as he exchanged a solemn glance with Ophelia.
"It seems we have no choice but to risk it," she declared.
"What do you mean?" The moment Zerev asked the question, his vision blurred once more.
When his sight cleared, the lush green rice paddies reappeared before his eyes.
"Why are we back here?" Zerev asked in confusion.
But Ophelia had no time to entertain his questions. Tugging at Tyler’s arm, she cried out in pain, "First... take me to the warehouse first."
Although this was no time to be picky, she still needed a clean environment for the delivery. Tyler didn’t question her orders. He bent down, scooped her up into his arms, and strode toward the nearby warehouse. Thanks to the farm space’s recent upgrade, the warehouse’s exterior and interior had been completely renovated. It was no longer a cluttered mess; white floor tiles covered the entire ground, and all the supplies were neatly stacked on sturdy shelves. Tyler found a simple sofa inside and gently laid Ophelia down.
"Princess, what should I do now?" Tyler asked. He had never witnessed a female giving birth before and was completely at a loss.
"Go prepare some hot water," Zerev interjected. "I’ll deliver the babies." Ever since he learned of Ophelia’s pregnancy, Zerev had been diligently studying every aspect of a female’s labor, so he had a general understanding of the process.
Seeing Ophelia nod in agreement, Tyler grabbed an earthen basin from the warehouse and rushed outside to fetch water. However, while he easily found water, he scoured the entire farm space and couldn’t find a single thing to burn.
"Princess, there’s no firewood here!" Tyler yelled, sweating profusely from anxiety.
Zerev froze upon hearing this. He never expected the delivery to get stalled at the very first step.
By now, Ophelia’s contraction had passed. She quickly checked the System Mall and discovered that it sold electric kettles, along with a "one-click wiring" feature. Without hesitation, she spent her points to install electrical wiring throughout the warehouse and guided Tyler on how to use the electric kettle to boil the water. While waiting for the water to boil, she scrolled frantically through the System Mall again, purchasing two small blankets, a box of sanitary pads, and some rubbing alcohol.
Just as she finished these preparations, another contraction hit her.
"Ugh, it hurts so much!" Ophelia bit down on her lower lip so hard that blood quickly seeped from the delicate skin.
Tyler and Zerev watched from the sidelines, burning with anxiety but entirely helpless to ease her pain. Before long, both men began to feel short of breath again, but not wanting to disturb her labor, they tacitly endured the suffocation without showing any outward signs of discomfort.
After enduring a few more intense contractions, Ophelia was drenched in cold sweat. Looking at Tyler and Zerev’s progressively reddening faces, panic began to rise in her chest. Biting her lip, she made a silent vow: if the dragon cubs weren’t born in two minutes, she would immediately take both men out of the space.
Just in the nick of time, Ophelia finally completed her delivery. Zerev was overjoyed when he saw the three dragon eggs resting on the blanket. He was just about to touch them when cracks suddenly appeared on all three shells simultaneously. In the blink of an eye, three tiny dragon cubs crawled out of their eggshells. They were all different colors: gold, white, and light gold. The light golden cub was a female!
With no time to examine the cubs closely, Ophelia silently recited her command, and the three adults were instantly teleported out of the space. Once outside, Tyler and Zerev began gulping down huge mouthfuls of fresh air. The very first thing Zerev did upon exiting was to look toward the Holy Capital. Seeing no unusual phenomena in the sky, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"The Dragon Stone hasn’t reacted, and there are no anomalies in the sky."
"Does that mean the space can isolate the cubs’ scent?" Ophelia voiced her hypothesis.
Zerev shook his head, unable to say for certain.
It was only then that Ophelia realized the three newly hatched dragon cubs hadn’t come out with them.
"The cubs... they didn’t come out with us."
"What? Ophelia, what do you mean?" Tyler and Zerev were both taken aback.
Ophelia furrowed her brows. "Logically speaking, the system dictates that foreign species can only survive inside for half an hour. Furthermore, the rule states that foreign entities who enter together must exit together.
"You two and Loki were all foreign entities, so you entered and exited simultaneously. But this time, the dragon cubs didn’t come out with you. That means the system didn’t classify them as foreign entities."
It was the only explanation she could think of at the moment.
"Are you saying, Princess, that the cubs can live in the space permanently?" Tyler asked after musing for a moment, grasping the implication of her words.
Ophelia wasn’t entirely sure either. "In theory, they should be able to."
"Then you should hurry back into the space and check on them, Princess," Tyler urged.
