Chapter 328: Survival Game

The remaining two lizard men... Their arms were wrapped in a greenish layer of energy.

Leon’s eyes narrowed. "Poison." He whispered. But before he had the chance to even react, the remaining two fireballs struck them. They tried to fight back, but it was futile.

Whoooooosh!

Whoooosh!

All five monsters were gone in just one simple move. A single spell was enough.

Though those monsters were pathetically weak, Emily, Snow, and Sol couldn’t help but admire how fast and swift Leon was. It was one thing to be strong, but being effective was a totally different thing.

"That was awesome, big bro." Sol chimed in excitedly.

"They were just E-Class monsters. Nothing special." Leon said and sighed inwardly. ’I should have held back a little. It’s finally my chance to raise my poison resistance. But no problem. It’s just the beginning after all.’ He thought inwardly.

"Let’s move," Leon said as he started walking forward. The others followed. Lamia and Frenrir entered Leon’s soul sanctuary again. The dungeon was nothing Leon wouldn’t be able to handle.

This time, Leon didn’t have to wait much, as just after five minutes, another group of monsters appeared. But this time it was more of a horde than just a group because the number of monsters crossed at least one hundred. The tunnel had ended in a huge underground cave-like structure. It was spacious. But sadly for Leon, this time also the monsters were only E-Class. Leon didn’t bring out his sword like other times and raised his hand instead. "Though I have comprehended all the fire spells, I need to master them. Use them so that I can get more familiar." He whispered.

The horde of monsters stormed forward as if they had suddenly found food. "Incinerate," Leon shouted.

Instantly, multiple hellish tornadoes erupted from the ground beneath the horde of monsters. They didn’t even get the chance to speak before every single one of them was swallowed by the fire and faded into nothingness.

"Bro, that’s the fifth fire spell, right?" Sol asked.

Leon nodded.

"Cool. But why don’t you use the tenth spell once more? You used that spell during the hunter test. I have never seen anyone using that spell. Didn’t know it was even real. Sis can use fire magic too, and she is damn good at it. But even she could only comprehend up to the ninth spell." Sol said.

"I want to use that spell too. But the space is not enough. If I use that here, I might accidentally hurt us. So let’s wait until we arrive at a location where the space won’t be so limited."

"Alright, big bro. Let’s move forward then."

Leon nodded and resumed walking.

The tunnel had expanded in size. Though it was still like a long road ahead, it wasn’t so suffocating anymore.

While Leon and others were advancing through the tunnel-like cave, someone was observing everything on a screen while being submerged in a bathing pool.

Though the person looked like a human, his skin color was completely blue. And his body was actually glowing as if he was a light source. Wet silver hair clung to his head and neck. He slowly swirled the crimson liquid in his glass.

He took a small sip, his lips curving into a smile. "He is progressing slowly, but we have time." He spoke.

Just then, another figure entered the huge room. "How long are you going to watch his progress? Don’t you get tired?" A female voice echoed. It was ethereal, pleasant to the ears.

"Do I have anything else to do? I have to observe either this one or another planet in another star system. But he’s the second one to reach the ninth layer in the Astral River. How can I not be excited about him? It’s like watching myself living another life."

"But he’s just a mortal. He could never reach your level."

"He’s mortal, yes. But not for long."

"He won’t even get the opportunity to step into the immortal realm before his whole world is destroyed. The God of chaos, the God of Demon... They won’t let someone like him arise. And before they even need to involve themselves, the monsters from Nexar will destroy everything he intends to protect. They are already there."

"Hahahahahahaha." The person submerged in water burst into laughter. "You have thought it through. But you forgot one thing."

The female narrowed her eyes. "And what might that be?"

"His body... It has two bloodlines. Two Eternal-level bloodlines. And he even consumed the fruit of evolution."

"What? You mean the Blood Dantian pill?" The female looked horrified.

The male person didn’t reply and only chuckled.

The female looked visibly irritated. "That’s why I told you to bring it back. Now see what you have done. What if he becomes a threat to you?"

"He won’t be."

"Huh!" The female scoffed. "He’s a demon child. His mother was a Ryokyan. No way he will end up on the right side."

"But his mother was no normal Ryokyan. She was the queen. And you know very well what she died for."

"It’s in their blood, my Liege. So what if she fought for what was just? Her other two children. Look at what they are doing. How can her other child be any different? It’s already devastating to be born with any of those two bloodlines. The Abyssal Adaptation bloodline and the Demon Monarch’s bloodline. But both of them are running through his veins. And above that, you even let him have the fruit of evolution. He will turn out to be the greatest calamity of this universe, I am telling you."

The man only chuckled before taking another sip. "Let him be the calamity. How long has it been since I had a worthy opponent? And you know the Survival Game is closing in. We barely have two hundred more years. Without a worthy candidate, our universe will cease to exist."

Silence fell. The female didn’t argue anymore. Because she knew the other person was right. But she couldn’t help but feel uneasy as she, too, watched Leon advance in the dungeon.
