I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents
Chapter 576: Seriously? Another Fight?
Lian shrugged slightly.
"It seems so."
"You think this is over?!"
The Elf’s voice grew louder.
"We will return! You can be sure that we will take revenge! You won’t get away with this without paying a price! My mother will definitely punish you for ruining our plan!"
"Human, you will die a horrible death! You will beg for death, and then I will look at your face and laugh."
"We spent fifteen years planning this! You damn human! How dare you ruin our grand plan!"
He no longer paid attention to her threats.
Beside him, Seris glanced at the seed and then at Lian’s face.
For a moment, something like admiration appeared in her eyes, she knew Lian was smart, and she knew that in battle, he could see several moves ahead.
But the fact that he had even thought about securing evidence to prevent a war between the world’s powers while fighting a living Demon, when they could lose their lives at any moment, was unexpected even to her.
The corner of her lips lifted slightly.
The young Vorhelm noticed.
"What?"
Seris shook her head.
"Nothing."
Lian gave her a brief glance, but before he could ask anything, the Elf’s shouting started again.
"I’m talking to you, ugly human!"
He let out a short sigh.
"Ugly?"
Then he turned his attention to the new core that had formed inside his body.
The End Core.
The amount of energy stored inside it was very low, but it might be enough for what he intended to do.
He reached out with his right hand.
An extremely thin line of End energy moved along his fingers, and he directly targeted the Elf’s clone.
The End energy reached the clone, and for a moment, the silver light around the Elf stopped moving.
She was still shouting.
"All humans are ugly! And you think you can—"
But she could not finish her sentence, because the rest of the clone no longer existed, her fingers began to disappear.
Then her hands.
Her shoulders.
And finally, her face.
There was no fire and no explosion, the clone simply stopped existing, as if the thread that held the entire image together had reached its end at that point.
Her mirror-like eyes remained fixed on Lian for one last moment, then there was nothing.
The Silver Elf’s clone disappeared from the prison.
Lian lowered his hand.
The End Core trembled for a moment, even this small use had consumed part of its limited energy.
But the result was very good.
Seris glanced at the empty space where the image had been.
Then she looked at Lian’s hand.
"She talked too much," he said in his usual manner, unfortunately, that clone had no use for them.
They could neither interrogate her nor expect her to be stupid enough to reveal anything, and all she had done was curse and complain.
So it was better to get rid of her.
Seris gave a short answer.
"A lot."
Some time later, both of them returned to the central altar of Verendal through the path they had taken before.
The enormous gate closed behind them.
The six stone rings of the ceremony were back on the ground, they had finally left the prison, their goal had been achieved, and they had also identified the real culprit behind everything that had happened.
But when Lian looked around, he realized that something was wrong, Isolde was not there.
And the lights on the walls seemed unusually unstable.
He looked at Seris, the girl had noticed it too.
And at that exact moment....BOOOOOOM!
The entire altar shook.
Dust fell from the enormous pillars.
The young Vorhelm instinctively spread his black wings slightly, while the young Pendragon raised her sword.
Another impact sounded from far away.
This time, the entire altar and hall shook again. It was as if they were about to collapse on top of them.
"What is this now?" He frowned.
Seris said nothing.
She simply moved toward the exit.
Lian followed her, and when they came out of the hall, they saw a sight that destroyed all the brief peace they had felt after the battle with the Demon of End.
Ads by PubFutureVerendal’s defensive dome was shaking.
The enormous golden network covering the entire city bent under repeated attacks, and large waves of light moved across its surface.
In the distant streets, Pendragon forces were moving into position.
Alarms rang out from the defensive towers, and groups of people were moving toward the inner shelters.
Lian raised his head.
Several kilometers away, above the city walls, space was changing around two beings.
One of them moved from one point to another by twisting the distance between them.
The other released an enormous force that made even space and time move aside from that distance.
Every movement and every strike they made was enough to tear reality apart like paper and bend layers of space over one another.
When their two powers collided...KRRRRRAAAASH!
A massive wave of pressure spread across the sky, and part of Verendal’s defensive dome bent inward.
Several towers immediately lit up and sent more energy toward that spot to return the dome to its normal shape.
He stood still for a moment, he recognized these two presences.
Rhaenar Pendragon.
Kairos.
There was no longer any standing face-to-face and negotiating, the two Celestials were actually fighting.
Lian calmly looked at the Silver Corruption Seed in his hand.
Inside the prison, they had managed to stop one of the most dangerous beings in the world from being released.
The Demon of End had fallen asleep again.
But outside? The accusations still remained.
Severin had been arrested first, and now Rhaenar and Kairos had moved beyond threats.
Seris stood beside him, her gaze fixed on the two beings fighting in the sky.
"My father..."
The young Vorhelm let out a slow breath, his black wings moved slightly behind him, and for a moment, he even felt like laughing.
Of course, he was not laughing because he found it amusing, but because it seemed that today still had no intention of ending.
He looked back at the sky, the battle with the Demon of End was over, but apparently, it was still too early to rest.
