Chapter 575: The Dragon Falls Asleep Again ( Castle Bonus Chapter )
Lian looked at the message for a moment.
He now had two cores, the Eclipse Core and the End Core.
However, contrary to what the message might suggest, he had not suddenly gained all the power of the Demon of End.
The new core was still incomplete, its stored energy was very limited, and using it also required precise control.
Even in this early state, it was an unusual power.
He was still examining the changes in his body when a terrifying voice came from a distance.
"No!"
The Demon of End had raised its head again, its enormous eyes fixed on Lian.
But this time, something in its gaze was even worse than before.
"No... no!"
The enormous chains were pulled tight under pressure.
"You should not exist!"
The young Vorhelm raised his head.
When the Demon of End saw the formation of the second core, it seemed to lose the last bit of control it had.
"Die!"
Its partially freed arm moved, and a black rift appeared in the space in front of it.
But before it could reach him, the newly strengthened chains tightened.
The arm was pulled back several meters, and the Demon let out a furious roar.
"You must die!"
Seris placed her hand on the main path of the seal, the Ancestral Mark shone, and the last remaining part of the seal was activated.
The energy of all the sacrificed Marks, which had been stored inside the prison’s structure, began to flow through the main paths.
The enormous pillars lit up one after another.
The black and golden chains tightened around the Demon’s neck, wings, and arms, and the central golden spike in the dragon’s chest shone with intense light.
The Demon of End tried to resist.
But this time, unlike at the beginning of the battle, almost all the main paths of the seal had been reactivated.
Its freed arm gradually moved back, its neck was pulled down, and its enormous wing became motionless again under the pressure of the chains.
"Anomaly!"
The Demon’s voice echoed throughout the prison.
"An anomaly should not exist!"
Lian looked at it with a serious expression, the Ruined Heart inside his body was now silent, but the Demon was still staring at the same spot.
"Die! You must die!"
The dragon’s final roar mixed with the sound of the chains tightening, then the golden rings around its head closed.
The red light in its eyes grew weaker, its enormous eyelids slowly lowered, and finally, the Demon of End fell asleep again.
For several moments, no one spoke, and the sound of Lian’s heavy breathing could be heard inside the prison.
The World-Devourer Bastion armor was still on his body, but many of its plates were cracked, and parts of the armor on his arms and shoulders were badly damaged.
His black wings were also still behind him, although his low mana meant that he could no longer freely use their full power as before.
Seris stood several meters away, her right hand was trembling.
Both of them looked at the enormous dragon that had settled quietly among the chains again.
They had survived, and more importantly, they had succeeded.
Just then, a system message appeared.
[Emergency Quest Completed]
[The release of the Demon of End has been stopped]
[Rewards have been granted]
[Level increased by 2]
[200 Fragments]
[200 Stat Points]
Another window appeared in front of Lian.
[Total Current stats: 20,000 / 20,000 ]
[Bonus Stat Points cannot be allocated]
[200 bonus Stat Points have been converted into 200 additional Fragments]
[Total Fragments Received: 400]
[Current Level: 29]
He kept his eyes on the message, four hundred Fragments and two levels, and besides that, he had also obtained an Ancestral Mark and a new monster core.
These were enormous rewards.
But when he looked at his wounded body and the empty spaces where One and Two had been, he knew very well what price he had paid for them.
He had not even had time to think about this when another message appeared.
[New Title Obtained]
[Survivor of the End]
[Requirement: Survive a direct encounter with a creature in the Demon rank and participate in restraining it again]
[Title Effects]
[When fighting Demon-rank creatures, all stats increase by 50%, damage received is reduced by up to 5%, and the chance of landing a critical hit with each successful attack is 5%]
Lian raised his eyebrows.
This title was truly powerful.
Especially the 50% increase to all stats when facing a Demon.
Of course, its effect was temporary and depended on fighting creatures of the same rank, and it did not change the permanent limit of the First Evolution.
Ads by PubFutureBut it was still a very valuable reward.
At the same moment, Seris was also looking at the windows in front of her, apparently, she had received the same title.
He gave a very faint smile.
"I think it was worth it."
She looked at him and then glanced at the Ancestral Mark on her own hand.
"Maybe."
Her short answer made Lian realize that she was still thinking about the lost Marks of her family.
But there was another matter that remained.
He turned his gaze back toward the heart of the prison, the Silver Elf was still there.
Her image had become a little unstable, and the golden rings around her were no longer polluted by silver light as they had been before.
But she could still speak.
Seris raised her sword, and Lian also used [True Trail] to examine the connection path of the image.
For several moments, they tried to surround the Elf’s connection from several directions.
He summoned [Eternal Grave Maw] around the central part of the image to restrain any remaining mana structures.
But the result was not very promising.
What stood before them was not her real body.
Even if they destroyed the entire clone structure, they would only cut off the connection.
The Silver Elf herself would still be alive, the silver creature noticed their attempt and looked at them for a moment.
Then she laughed.
"Do you really think you’ve won?"
"Your plan has fallen apart, so what are you laughing at?" Lian raised his head.
The Elf tilted her head slightly, her mirror-like eyes shone in the prison’s golden light.
"You humans are truly stupid."
This time, her voice was full of mockery.
"I only gave your greatest powers a few things to worry about. You did the rest yourselves."
The young Vorhelm remained silent.
"The families have started suspecting each other, and the Twelve Guilds have stood against you. The Overlords have gathered, and even your Celestials are making threats against each other."
She spread her arms.
"Do you think I lost just because this dragon wasn’t released?"
Another laugh came from her throat.
"Only one part of the plan failed! Your world is already on the edge of war, and even if I disappear here, the distrust won’t disappear with me."
She paused for a moment and then added with satisfaction.
"I still won."
Lian looked at her for several seconds, in a way, she was right, the Demon of End had been imprisoned again.
But the political crisis outside the prison still remained.
Severin had been arrested, Kairos was standing against Rhaenar, and the Six Great Families and the Twelve Guilds probably still blamed each other.
If this situation continued, the world could enter a massive crisis even without the Demon of End being released.
But there was still one thing the Elf did not know.
He raised the corner of his mouth.
"Don’t be so sure."
"What?" The Elf looked at him.
Lian raised his right hand, a silver seed with a cracked surface, but it still seemed intact.
The Silver Corruption Seed.
For a moment, the Elf did not react at all, then all her attention became fixed on the seed.
"That..."
Lian held the seed between two fingers.
"Are you looking for this?"
The Elf took a step forward, her eyes trembled violently for a moment.
"How?!"
"I think you left something behind."
"Impossible! I made sure it was destroyed!"
"The shell, yes, it was cracked, but what about the rest?" Lian laughed.
A few minutes earlier, just when the Silver Elf had realized that the operation to release the Demon of End was failing, she had activated the seed’s self-destruction command.
Lian had seen that
But instead of destroying the seed itself, he had sent only an extremely thin strand of Eclipse energy into the self-destruction command’s path.
The connection between the outer shell and the main center of the seed had been weakened.
The shell had cracked according to the Elf’s command and released silver light, which from a distance looked exactly like the seed’s complete destruction.
But the inside of the seed, including its central part, had remained intact.
And just when the Elf’s attention had been focused on the seal and the Demon of End, Lian had picked it up while he was going to deal with the Essence of End.
And now, the main evidence of the entire conspiracy was in his hands.
The Silver Elf stared at the seed in disbelief, she did not even speak for several seconds.
Then anger replaced her shock.
"Damn human!"
Her clone trembled.
"You... you ruined our plans!"
