I Begged His Brother to Get Me Pregnant
Chapter 42: Don’t touch me, your hands are dirty
Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Don’t touch me, your hands are dirty
Harry Quinn studied his expression and suddenly asked, "So, have you thought about what’ll happen when your older brother finds out?"
After all, he and Julian Sterling are brothers.
"The biggest regret of my life is not fighting for her three years ago. I chose to honor Evelyn Grant’s feelings for my older brother instead."
’The truth is, he could have easily stopped the wedding back then. It wouldn’t have even been difficult!’
’Because Ryan knew his brother didn’t really want to marry Evelyn Grant.’
’But then he saw the way Evelyn Grant looked at Julian Sterling. That look was all too familiar—it was the same way he looked at her! How could he not understand?’
So in the end, Ryan chose to leave.
All so Evelyn Grant could marry the man she loved!
But he never imagined his brother and Evelyn Grant’s marriage would end like this.
If Ryan hadn’t returned when he did, he might have lost Evelyn Grant forever...
"I made a mistake once, and I absolutely will not make the same mistake twice. I don’t care who it is or what objections they have."
’From the moment he decided to return to the country and save Evelyn Grant, he had already thought through everything that would come next.’
Harry Quinn clapped Ryan Sterling on the shoulder. "If I’m reborn as a woman in my next life, I’m definitely marrying you!"
Ryan shoved him away in mock disgust. "Don’t touch me. Your hands are dirty."
"Tsk!"
Harry Quinn pouted. "Honestly, if your brother just keeps giving Evelyn Grant the cold shoulder, it’s not a huge problem. The real worry is that he’ll regret it down the line."
Ryan Sterling didn’t reply.
Because as a man himself, he could clearly sense it—
His brother already regretted it.
’Otherwise, he would have rejected their mother’s "plan" immediately! Why else would he agree to go along with a scheme involving Evelyn Grant *after* the divorce, trying to force a situation that can’t be undone?’
At this thought, Ryan Sterling suddenly realized something. His mother, Ms. Morgan, hadn’t been pestering him about getting that "drug" anymore.
’Something’s not right.’
Seeing the sudden change in Ryan Sterling’s expression, Harry Quinn quickly asked, "What’s wrong?"
"I need to call my mom about something."
"Then go do what you need to do. You don’t have to show me around Kyro today; I can have fun on my own!" After a beat, he added, "If my sister contacts you, just tell her you’re busy."
Harry Quinn was worried his sister wouldn’t take the hint and would keep getting delusional ideas.
"Okay."
Ryan Sterling headed down from the hotel and walked toward his car, dialing a number as he went.
The call connected quickly. Florence Morgan answered, "Ryan?"
"Mom, about that drug you asked me to get—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Florence Morgan cut him right off. "We don’t need it! You don’t have to worry about it anymore."
Ryan Sterling’s brows furrowed instantly. "Why? Did you get it from someone else?"
On the other end of the line, Florence Morgan instinctively started to say that his brother had already gotten it, but then she remembered her elder son’s instructions and swallowed the words.
"No, it’s just... your father felt it wasn’t a good idea. We decided it’s better to let your brother and Eve sort things out themselves. Let him experience how hard it is to win a wife back. Maybe then he’ll stop giving us so much to worry about!"
"Really?"
"Of course it’s true!" Having told a lie, Florence Morgan was eager to change the subject and immediately pivoted. "Speaking of which, when are you going to bring a girl home? You’re almost thirty, you know!"
