Chapter 371: The Food From The Other World (1)

It turned out that the only thing Calen had told them was that Roxanna had worked hard to make them a lot of delicious meals.

And just like that, Luan and Zeir came over without the slightest hesitation.

"You should have rested instead of working so hard to cook," Zeir said the moment his eyes met Roxanna’s. His voice sounded a little stiff at first, but it quickly softened. "But thank you for the meal. I know you put a lot of time and care into making all of this."

Meanwhile, Luan immediately rushed to Roxanna’s side. He took both of her hands in his and stared deeply into her eyes.

"My wife, I should be the one pampering you, not the other way around," he said with a guilty look on his face. "I’m sorry I haven’t been a better husband."

Roxanna blinked several times. She was completely caught off guard, wondering why did Luan suddenly think he was a bad husband? She had never thought that about him at all.

[Host, he probably thinks that way because he’s been tiring you out too much these past few days!] The system pointed out.

Roxanna frowned. [It’s not like I didn’t like it either...] After a short pause, she quietly added in her mind, [It was a good experience, though...]

She quickly looked away, completely forgetting that her husbands could hear every single thought running through her head.

Luan’s confidence immediately shot through the roof. Meanwhile, the other husbands could only roll their eyes or shake their heads at him.

After a while, Roxanna finally gave Zeir and Luan an awkward smile. "Actually... I didn’t cook all of this by myself. Cyrus was the one who did most of the cooking."

[Most of the cooking, my ass. He cooked all of it!] Roxanna shouted inside her head. [I seriously wonder how he became such a good cook. He can even make a completely new dish without making any mistakes.]

Azul was also a good cook, but even he still made a few mistakes whenever he tried making something new, not that Roxanna thought there was anything wrong with that. She was the same way, after all.

[He really is one of my treasures.]

The moment that thought appeared in her mind, all of her husbands had the exact same thought: they had to become her treasures too.

However, they could think about that later, specifically after they finished the food right in front of them.

"Why are you still standing there?" Cyrus asked.

He was already sitting on the floor after setting all the food down in front of him. "We need to eat before everything gets cold. Besides, Roxanna hasn’t eaten properly since she woke up, so don’t make her stay hungry any longer."

Roxanna was about to tell him that she was fine, but Luan and Zeir had already walked deeper into the hut.

Neither of them said anything else as they quickly sat down. Luan then patted the empty spot beside him and looked at Roxanna. "Here. You can sit here."

Roxanna smiled at him before sitting down by his side. "These are foods I used to eat in my world," Roxanna said proudly as she introduced the dishes to them. "The taste might be a little strange to you at first, but trust me, they’re really delicious!"

The appearance of the food did indeed look a little strange, and even Zeir looked like he had something on his mind. But in the end, none of them complained.

Cyrus picked up the pot of meat curry and carefully poured some into each of the clay bowls before passing them around.

At first, no one dared to taste it. They simply stared at the strange-looking curry in their bowls, as if waiting for someone else to take the first sip.

But when they looked up and saw Roxanna watching them with an eager smile on her face, none of them had the heart to keep her waiting.

In the end, they all took a sip at almost the same time.

Zeir was the first to widen his eyes. The moment the curry touched his tongue, it felt as though all kinds of flavors suddenly burst inside his mouth at once.

The others had their own reactions, each of them clearly surprised by the unfamiliar taste.

Roxanna looked from one husband to another, trying to read their expressions. "How is it?" she asked in a sweet, drawn-out voice, clearly hoping that her husbands would like the food.

For a few seconds, no one answered and it made Roxanna’s smile slowly become stiff. [Why is no one saying anything?]

She nervously looked at the bowl in her hands. [Is it bad? But I think it tastes good! Cyrus followed the recipe exactly, so there shouldn’t be anything wrong with it.]

Before Roxanna could start doubting the food even more, Zeir finally swallowed the curry in his mouth. "It’s delicious," he said.

Roxanna’s eyes immediately lit up. "Really?"

Zeir nodded and took another sip, this time without any hesitation. "Yes. I’ve never tasted anything like this before."

The answer made Roxanna’s smile return in an instant.

Calen was even less reserved. After getting over his surprise, he quickly drank another mouthful before looking down at his bowl with wide eyes.

"This is really good!" he exclaimed. "There are so many different tastes!"

He couldn’t even explain what he was tasting. It was salty and rich, with a slight sweetness and a strong smell from the spices. It was completely different from the roasted meat they usually ate.

Luan also took another sip before nodding seriously. "My wife was right. It tastes strange at first, but it’s delicious."

Roxanna immediately puffed out her chest with pride. "See? I told you!"

[As expected, food from my world is amazing!]

Cyrus glanced at her from the side. Technically, he had been the one who cooked everything, so he had already tasted the food before everyone else.

However, every time he saw her happy face, he couldn’t help but pretend to enjoy it for the second time.

"It’s good," Cyrus said before taking another sip of the meat curry.

Roxanna’s smile immediately grew wider. [Hehehe. I knew they would like it!]
