Roxanna spent a while reading through the colorful book, carefully studying everything inside. She wanted to understand it properly so that when the time came, she could explain what she had learned to the people of Vixeria in a way that was easy for them to understand.

The moment Cyrus returned to the hut with Calen, however, Roxanna quickly put the book back into her inventory. She didn’t want to think about anything else for now and ruin their little cooking time together.

"Oh, Calen, you’re back?" Roxanna asked with a smile.

Her gaze dropped, and she noticed that Calen had tied the feet of several chickens together with dry vines, making them much easier to carry.

Calen immediately flashed her a wide smile, showing the sharp fangs at the corners of his mouth. "Yes! I happened to be out hunting too, so I decided to come back and help you cut up the meat!"

Roxanna tilted her head to the side, looking past him. "What about Zeir and Luan?"

Calen was about to answer, but Cyrus beat him to it. "Zeir is busy training the young warriors, while Luan is training the other warriors on how to move without being noticed by the enemies."

Roxanna slowly nodded. "That must be hard to learn."

"It’s really hard!" Calen quickly complained. "I still can’t do it perfectly even now!"

"It’s because dogs are noisy," Cyrus said as he calmly walked past him.

As he passed Roxanna, Cyrus reached out and gently patted her head a few times before continuing toward the kitchen. A large sack of freshly harvested potatoes rested easily in his arms.

Calen immediately protested, "Hey! We’re not that noisy!"

Cyrus didn’t even bother turning around. "You’re being noisy right now."

Calen stared at his back, clearly offended. Before he could argue again, Cyrus added, "Come on. You have a lot of chickens to cut up. You don’t expect them to cut off their own heads, do you?"

Calen let out an annoyed huff, but he still went to do what he was told. Of course, not before leaning down and stealing a quick kiss from Roxanna.

"I’ll chop these chickens as fast as I can, wife!" he shouted before hurrying away.

Roxanna chuckled and slowly shook her head as she watched him leave.

She then followed Cyrus into the kitchen and saw that he had already started cutting up the meat he had stored in the refrigerator earlier.

The sun had completely set by now, so Roxanna had already lit the torches around the kitchen.

Although they could still see quite well in the dark, having some light made things much easier.

"You must be really hungry right now," Cyrus suddenly said.

He lifted his chin toward the table, where half a watermelon and several bananas were waiting for her. "Why don’t you eat some fruit first? At least you’ll have some energy while waiting for the food."

Roxanna chuckled. "I already ate some apples before you came back, but thank you. I’ll eat the watermelon and bananas too."

After all, fruit alone wasn’t enough to fill her stomach right now. She was so hungry that she felt like she could eat all night.

Roxanna picked up a wooden spoon and scooped out a piece of watermelon. The moment she put it into her mouth, her eyes brightened slightly because it was surprisingly so sweet and full of juice.

Before she knew it, one spoonful became another, then another, until Roxanna had somehow eaten the entire half of the watermelon.

"Have you eaten yet?" Roxanna asked with her mouth still full of watermelon. She lifted another spoonful toward Cyrus. "Do you want some?"

"I ate before I went hunting," Cyrus replied. "You can finish all of it."

"But you must be tired because of hunting, right?" Roxanna asked.

Before Cyrus could refuse again, Roxanna scooped up another piece of watermelon and held the spoon in front of his mouth. "Here. Open your mouth."

Cyrus looked at the spoon, then at Roxanna. "I’m not hungry."

"You still need to eat."

Seeing that he still wasn’t moving, Roxanna brought the spoon even closer until it almost touched his lips. "Come on. Just one bite."

Cyrus stared at her for another moment before finally giving in and opening his mouth.

Roxanna immediately fed him the watermelon. "There!" she said happily. "Isn’t it sweet?"

Cyrus slowly chewed before nodding. "It is sweet."

Roxanna smiled in satisfaction and quickly scooped up another piece.

Cyrus raised an eyebrow. "You said one bite."

"I changed my mind."

She held the spoon in front of him again, and this time, Cyrus didn’t bother arguing. He simply leaned closer and ate from the spoon.

Roxanna was about to feed him a third bite when a voice suddenly came from behind them.

"Wife!"

Roxanna turned around and saw Calen standing at the kitchen entrance. There were a few small spots of blood on his hands from cutting up the chickens, but his eyes were completely focused on the spoon in Roxanna’s hand.

"What is it?" Roxanna asked.

Calen pointed at Cyrus with an accusing look. "Why are you feeding him?"

Roxanna blinked. "Because he hasn’t eaten since before he went hunting."

"But I went hunting too!"

Roxanna chuckled softly and curled her fingers at Calen, gesturing for him to come closer. "Come here. I’ll feed you too."

The moment he heard those words, Calen’s face lit up. He quickly rushed toward her and almost reached out to touch her, only to stop himself when he noticed the blood still staining his hands.

"But you probably won’t like the fruit that much," Roxanna reminded him. Even so, she still held the spoon in front of his mouth. "I can feed you again after we finish cooking the meat."

"But I want you to feed me now too." Calen immediately opened his mouth and leaned closer, clearly not planning to wait.

Roxanna could only shake her head before putting a spoonful of watermelon into his mouth.
