Chapter 1145: Chapter 76: Partitioning the Nether River! (Part 2)

The territory of the Death Pantheon is the largest among all pantheons.

At its peak, even the upper planes had outposts of the Death Pantheon, as wherever the Nether River existed, it was considered the domain of the Death Pantheon.

But now, the structure of this lower plane is experiencing upheaval!

After the newly ascended Death God Kelemvor secured the City of the Dead, the first to retreat was the devil legion from Bator Hell. They quietly withdrew from the Netherworld, abandoned the territories they had occupied, and then dispatched heavy troops to guard one of the main routes of the Nether River, leading to the gateway of Bator Hell.

"Teacher."

"I lost."

Death God Kelemvor returned to the Crystal Tower, looking at the Ancient Death God Ye Ge before him, his expression both dejected and unwilling.

Ye Ge, on the other hand, showed a gratified smile and said slowly, "You haven’t lost."

"You just faced a setback."

"These evil demons will retreat on their own, and everything will return to the negotiating table."

Indeed.

Shortly after Ye Ge spoke, the troops of the undead monarchs noticed the movements of the devils. They immediately began withdrawing from the battlefield and simultaneously sent envoys to the City of the Dead.

Following closely were the demon army, those cunning Yugoloths. Almost as soon as the devil legion left, they began to retreat as well.

Unbeknownst to them all.

The demon army, oblivious and recklessly rampant, was once again tacitly abandoned by everyone, or rather, no one was better suited than demons to stay behind and cover the retreat; they naturally attracted the entire City of the Dead’s firepower.

Thus the demons suffered.

With the devils retreating and the evil demons slipping away, the demon army, numbering in the hundreds of thousands, faced a siege by the Netherworld’s prayers. The recently advancing demon legion was immediately struck with a head-on blow, breaking their ranks almost instantly.

By the time other demon leaders tried to find the new lord leading the demon legion into the Nether River, they discovered that his elite troops had already withdrawn.

For a time, the corpses of demons were scattered all over the hills.

At least 150,000 demons were left forever in the Netherworld, but it didn’t matter, as this number of troops could be replaced in minutes by the Bottomless Abyss.

Most other planes have a single layer; just the known layers of the Bottomless Abyss number 666.

This is just the beginning.

Each year, millions of cannon fodder demons perish. For the Bottomless Abyss, this invasion was merely a warm-up, a new posture distinct from the Abyssal Blood War.

Devils retreated to the gateway of Bator Hell.

Evil demons retreated to the gateways of the Fiery Hell, Gray Wilderness, Asura Field, and other planes.

As for the massive demon legion, Napoleon Bonaparte immediately received an order from the Silver Palace to station directly on the Ten Thousand Abyss Plain of the Bottomless Abyss.

"Kelemvor lost."

"The master ordered the demon legion to occupy the main route of the Nether River leading to the Bottomless Abyss from the Netherworld!"

"Subsequently, new personnel will be appointed to take over the role of the Nether River ferrymen."

Having lost the battle,

there are some territories that the Netherworld could not manage to consume.

All the evil demon lords reached a consensus that, due to differences in their abilities, the territories they consumed varied in size. The devil legion blocked the Nether River’s gateway to Bator Hell, meaning that Death God Kelemvor would no longer have the right to intervene in matters within Bator Hell, and this section of the Nether River’s main route would be governed by the devils.

In other areas, it was much the same.

Evil demon lords each carved out a section of the Nether River’s tributaries, undead monarchs divided the smaller tributaries along the Spirit Realm and Shadow Plane, the Fiery Hell, Asura Field, and Despair Wilderness, and except for the main route of the Nether River passing through the Netherworld, all branching Nether River routes completely fell out of the control of the City of the Dead.

The Netherworld remained the Netherworld.

The Death Pantheon remained the Death Pantheon.

But Death God Kelemvor’s authority was now limited to within the Netherworld, his decrees unable to extend beyond it, and even the ferrymen on the tributaries of the Nether River were entirely replaced by evil demon lords from various regions.

At this time.

Only the Ancient Death God Ye Ge coming forth could restore the prestige of the Death Pantheon, leading everyone to cough up the meat they had in their mouths and even to re-accept a certain degree of influence and control from the Netherworld.

But if Ye Ge does not emerge, apologies, Death God Kelemvor could not reign in these unruly evil demons.

"The Lord of the Silver Palace has seized control of the main route of the Nether River in the Bottomless Abyss!"

This message spread like the wind across the entire Bottomless Abyss. However, in the eyes of others, the Silver Palace nominally had joint governance, but the true master was the hidden Lord Julian, and Trasia was merely a plaything and puppet of that demon lord.

Recently, with the appearance of Witch Queen Egger Vulfu, Trasia’s position has been further questioned by many demons.

"The master’s order."

"Have the elite of the demon legion garrison at the Nether River entrance on the Ten Thousand Abyss Plain."

"If the Netherworld makes no move, we will take over everything concerning this section of the Nether River."

Enchanting Mage Marita was exceedingly excited, for this was the main route of the Nether River, and demons hadn’t had such a large piece of meat in thousands of years.

The Material Plane is abundant with souls.

But not everyone can enter the Divine Country, as the realm of the Divine Spirits has its thresholds, first being devout belief, but if one’s belief isn’t that devout, having powerful abilities also suffices. However, if neither of these can be achieved, for ordinary people, entering the Divine Country is a luxury, and they are most likely to wander into various regions of the lower planes after death.
