Chapter 1146: Chapter 76: Dividing the Nether River!_3

This is a resource point that constantly refreshes souls.

It used to be managed by the Netherworld, now it’s autonomously controlled in various places.

As long as the Netherworld lacks the capability to reclaim these areas, they can feast as long as they hold onto them.

Truly defeating the Netherworld is fundamentally impossible.

From the beginning, everyone’s target was the land outside the Netherworld, that’s an extension of the Death Pantheon. When the Death Pantheon was strong, its word was law, and no one could touch the interests of the Nether River. But now that the Death Pantheon has weakened, it’s time for everyone to grab a bite.

If the Death Pantheon rises again in the future, they can always return it, but whatever’s been digested won’t be spat out.

In the entire lower planes, the ones with the largest appetite are demons and devils.

These two factions, locked in perpetual blood wars, directly blocked the gates. Losing those main channels of the Nether River makes them much harder to reclaim, likely requiring a Divine Country-level war, at the very least a massive-scale blood battle.

With a continuous supply of souls, the scale and intensity of future Abyssal Blood Wars might sharply increase!

Ten Thousand Abyss Plain.

Outside the Steel Fortress guarded by the Devil Legion, a figure draped in a luxurious black and red robe emerged, holding a ruby scepter, gazing in the direction of the Nether River, muttering: "Lord of the Silver Palace?"

"Could they actually seize the Nether River’s interests?"

"Whose avatar are they?"

The Lord of Hell, Asmodeus, showed a hint of interest, his figure silently shifting towards the camp where demons are stationed.

For so many years, in the wars of the lower planes, it’s the first time demons have consumed more than devils!

After Ye Ge ascended, the Death Pantheon inevitably declined.

If they can strive diligently, maybe in ten years they could regain these lost channels of the Nether River. After all, the basic foundation of the Netherworld is there, and that’s where the most souls are. But in the short term, the recently heavily damaged Netherworld should have no capability to extend its reach outside its realm.

This is typical kicking someone when they’re down, a common ailment of the entire lower planes.

Whatever’s inside the Netherworld, they abandon, despite heavy casualties to capture; but outside the Netherworld, it’s all about strength and who has the bigger fist.

This is the consensus of all demons in the lower planes.

As for those demons that invaded the Netherworld and occupied territory, they’re dead beyond dead by now.

As long as the City of the Dead remains intact, Ye Ge has no reason to intervene. As long as the Netherworld is stable, the allies of the Death God won’t go out of their way to attack other lower planes. To reclaim the branches of the Nether River is the Netherworld’s domestic affair; if they can’t handle that, the shame will only be on Ye Ge.

Moreover, Ye Ge once attempted to dismantle the Wall of the Unbelievers, which has already offended many Divine Spirits.

The King of the Dead has been propped up by everyone’s joint efforts.

If they don’t take direct action, the Netherworld won’t have the capacity to reclaim the Nether River channels in the short term. If they do step in, it would be like exposing their health bar again, and perhaps even the Death God will be replaced in the future.

This is the tacit understanding among Divine Spirits.

As long as they don’t expose their health bars, the Divine Spirits are nearly immortal, and no one can bear the cost of forcefully assaulting a Divine Country.

The same goes for the Lord of Hell, Asmodeus.

Look at the Blood Wars between the Bottomless Abyss and Baator Hell that have been raging for so many years, who has ever seen the Lord of Hell on the battlefield? The moment they appear, it’s like exposing their health bar on the Blood War Battlefield.

Since the outbreak of the Saint’s Calamity, the gods have gained a deeper understanding of each other.

This understanding is that regardless of who exposes their health bar, they can be killed!

.........

(Note: Staying in a Divine Country is like hiding their health bar, but going out changes that. Once the health bar is exposed, they might be taken down, and killing an avatar could also weaken their power.)
