Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard
Chapter 1130 - 813: Beauxbatons
Chapter 1130: Chapter 813: Beauxbatons
Fleur seemed quite upset when she left, but in reality, she was rather pleased... happy for Conna.
At least Kael’s performance just now scored eighty in her book. Even though she was right there, his gaze never left Conna.
That’s already quite rare.
Fleur is particularly confident in the realm of beauty, and she tends to look down on everyone equally.
She truly has the credentials for it; the Veela bloodline is as absurdly strong as the Elder Wand.
While in the shop earlier, she didn’t suppress her innate Charm ability at all, but Kael still ignored her.
Though she felt a tiny bit defeated, she was more delighted for Conna.
Because besides her sister Gabrielle Delacour, Conna is her best friend... even though they haven’t known each other long.
Don’t be fooled by Fleur’s fame in France as a renowned Beauxbatons alumnus and Triwizard Tournament Champion; she doesn’t actually have many friends.
Half-Veela lineage brought her incredible beauty but also took away the privilege of making friends.
Though she had countless admirers during her school days, nearly all the guys had their own agendas, mostly driven by desire, while the rest were attracted by the Delacour Family or both.
The Delacour Family is somewhat renowned in France and has a close relationship with Ms. Maxime, which naturally attracted many who wished to associate.
Apart from them, most girls felt more jealousy than friendliness towards her.
The careful and sensitive traits from the Veela bloodline allowed her to discern the malice hidden in others’ hearts more clearly.
After experiencing it many times, the desire to make friends naturally faded, so usually at school she was alone... at least before those people surrounded her.
Fleur aimlessly wandered the streets for about ten minutes; to avoid drawing attention, she simply walked into a bookstore, reading in a corner to pass the time.
She didn’t know how long she was there, when she noticed the light in front of her was blocked.
"I’ve been looking for you for ages. What are you doing here?" Conna stood before her, glancing down at the book’s cover in Fleur’s hands.
"The Magical Travels of Moon Mountain"
"I didn’t know you liked reading this type of book?"
"I don’t like it." Fleur replied, shoving the book back on the shelf, "But it’s still better than interrupting your heart-to-heart."
"Nice, you’re perceptive." Kael nodded, "Didn’t waste my time and effort researching a conditioner for you..."
Fleur felt like hitting someone again, but given she was outside, she must maintain the Delacour image.
"Shut up." Conna gently stepped on Kael’s foot.
"We want to wander outside, you should come too." she said.
"Wander outside?" Fleur blinked, thinking she heard wrong.
Doesn’t Kael know how she got here? It was illegal entry, you know. If discovered, she’d be arrested!
Chatting indoors is enough, going outside... doesn’t he fear being conspicuous?
"Don’t worry."
Kael didn’t need to guess to know what Fleur was thinking, and immediately said, "Aurors can’t catch me, and I’m not one of those high-profile dangerous Dark Wizards. No one will be watching me. As long as I don’t loudly announce on the street, there’s no problem."
"Besides, it’s rare for me to come to France, I have to look around, let’s treat it as a vacation."
"Ha, do as you please then." Realizing the pair agreed, Fleur didn’t bother persuading anymore.
Anyway, even if Kael got caught by Aurors, the Delacour Family could bail him out, and there’s always Ms.Maxime.
Just like Kael said, he’s not that well-known.
Maybe he’s famous in the United Kingdom, but this is France; who knows who Kael is? If not for the Triwizard Tournament, she wouldn’t have known he existed.
This "remarkably ordinary" wizard wouldn’t be hard to bail out, mostly costing a hefty sum of Galleons.
Of course, that sum of Galleons won’t come from her... Kael is wealthy.
"Where do you want to go?" Once outside the bookstore, Fleur immediately donned a large sunhat and hid her face beneath the brim.
"First stop is definitely Beauxbatons." Kael said without hesitation.
Coming to France and not visiting Beauxbatons is like going to the United Kingdom and not eating fish and chips; you’d miss out on the most iconic experience.
"Good choice, Ms.Maxime mentioned you a few days ago. We can go see her together." Fleur nodded.
"Wait for me for a bit." She glanced around and entered a shop.
"What did she go in for?" Kael asked curiously.
Conna shook her head.
Though she’s been in France for awhile, she doesn’t know more than Kael about the surroundings; she only knows the shop sign reads... Madam Celia’s Travel Essentials?
That’s roughly the gist of it.
However, they didn’t wait long, only about five minutes, and Fleur came out. Moreover, she now held a carpet.
"What did you buy a carpet for?"
"I have to say you British Wizards just lack insight." Fleur looked disdainful, "It’s not a carpet, it’s a Flying Carpet.
"Since you can’t Apparate due to your status and can’t ride the Magic Carriage, we certainly won’t go to Beauxbatons on a broomstick."
