His Wild Omega

Chapter 34: Never Lie To Me

  • Next Chapter

Meris looked around the master bedroom.

She sniffed.

My pheromone has already filled this entire place. I will just try to get closer to him, have him under control while I still have a chance.

She bit her finger.

Then I just need to find a chance and sleep with him. If I can induce his heat, that will be even better...

Just as she was pacing back and forth, she heard the heavy footsteps approaching the master bedroom.

Merely from the lingering dominating scent in the air, she could already tell who it was.

The door pushed open.

Dante Baris walked in.

He shut the door, and almost immediately, a familiar pheromone heavily assaulted his nose, forcing him to stop.

His head rang with headache from the immediate rejection his body and wolf felt towards the pheromone. He instinctively touched his mating spot, body trembling slightly.

He forced his closed eyes open.

Near his bed, Meris stood, teeth lowered over her bottom lip in a gentle cute manner.

Meris was beautiful, her lustrous white hair falling all the way to her bottom. She was dressed finely in a white night dress, complementing the white of her hair and the blue of her eyes.

"Dante," she called his name sweetly.

Dante stared at her. "What are you doing here?"

"W-what do you mean?"

"Why are you in my bedroom?"

She fidgeted with her fingers. "We haven’t spent the night together in a long while. I thought it would be good if we can tonight. What...do you think?"

He watched her for a few intense seconds before he slowly began his way towards her.

Meris swallowed a little. For some reason, every step he took towards her, felt almost imposing.

"Dante...?"

She tried to keep her smile.

"Is...is something wrong?"

Dante didn’t answer her, not until he got close enough to lower himself and whisper, "Why do you smell like that?"

She froze.

Smell like what?

Cold sweats immediately broke out all over her body.

Does he know? No... that’s not possible. I made sure I cleaned myself. I even sprayed scent masking spray on me before I returned. I was sure I had no smell, even...Mavros confirmed it.

She immediately grew deathly pale.

What smell is he talking about?

Forcing herself to smile, she lifted her gaze and slowly met Dante’s eyes. "What...s-smell are you talking about?" She tried hard enough to hide the tremble in her voice.

"Oh, it’s just a sort of smell I’ve never smelt on you before." Dante said, "Like you sprayed something."

"Oh that?!"

Her face immediately broke out into a large smile.

"I...hahahaha, I got these new perfumes and when I went out earlier, I sprayed a little. So...that’s why. Haha, is everything okay, Dante?"

"Of course."

Dante nodded. He kept staring intently at her.

She blinked at him. "Is there a reason you’re staring so much at me?"

"No." He shook his head. "I guess I’ve just missed you, Meris. You are right. Since Selene came into this manor, I have neglected you. And as an alpha, I naturally end up missing you. My..."

"...mate."

It caught Meris off guard. She couldn’t help but take two good looks at him again. "Dante..."

"Tell me something, Meris."

He raised his hand and gently cupped her cheek.

"You’ll never lie to me, right?"

Her eyes fluttered. "What do you mean?" Lie to him? What could she have lied to him about to make him ask such a question?

Did he find out?

No that couldn’t be. If he has found out I am not his mate, there is no way he would be this calm—

"I’m just asking," Dante said. "I don’t ever want there to be any kind of lies between us. You are my mate, and I care for you. You’d be the last person I want to lie to me. I really wouldn’t be able to handle it. So make sure you never lie to me, hm?"

Meris stared at him with a deathly pale face, mouth trembling as she tried to get her words out.

"Do you hear me?" Dante gently smiled at her. "Being lied to is one thing I hate the most. And especially from my own mate. It would make me very very upset. So don’t ever lie to me, that is all I ask, okay?"

She felt like she couldn’t breathe.

Her throat felt so thorny as if she’d swallowed a thorn rose.

"Dante, have I...done something wrong?"

But instead of answering her, he lowered himself and wrapped his arms around her in a loving manner. He kept his head against her shoulder, burying his face in her neck.

Meris stood still, dormant.

He had never been this intimate with her, not even before Selene arrived, otherwise, they would have mated fully by now.

"Nothing is wrong. I just need you to answer me. Never lie to me, do you hear me?" he repeated again.

When she didn’t answer, he hugged her even tighter.

"Do you hear me, Meris?"

It was as if she was jolted back to reality. Frantically, she nodded her head, agreeing, "Of course, of course. I would never do that. I would never do such a thing, Dante. I have no reason to ever lie to you."

"Very good."

Dante slowly pulled back.

He grabbed her hand.

"Come and lie in bed with me for a little while."

She was confused. She felt scared. She’d never seen Dante act like this before. So sweet and nice to her without her having to induce her pheromones and put him under a control spell that keeps her fawning over her even against his will.

He allowed her into the bed.

Then he got in next to her.

He curled his arms around her and spooned her warmly as though he couldn’t bear to be without her. And then, he dropped his eyes shut.

Meris, however, laid on that bed with a pale face, frantic inside.

She was in deep thought, subconsciously beginning to run her fingers through his hair.

Something is wrong. Something is very wrong.

Could he have found out?

She bit hard into her bottom lip, trying to remain calm.

But even if he has found out, he cannot directly blame or accuse me. My plan was perfect, we even had a fake spark. If it turns out he has found out, I will just lie my way through it. So long as I stand on it that even I myself have no clue what happened or went wrong, he can’t point fingers at me or say I lied to him.

She took a deep breath.

I can’t confirm yet that he knows the truth. But if possibly he doesn’t, then good. Before then, I must get intimate with him. I must get pregnant...that way even if he finds out...

...There is nothing he can do to me.
