Heavenly Dungeon: My Subordinates Are All Woman Monsters
Chapter 104: Experience Adventurers (part 2)
Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Experience Adventurers (part 2)
Whenever the creatures attempted to spread out, the adventurers adjusted their formation and eliminated them before they could escape into the deeper passages. Kyle himself remained at the forefront, cutting down every spider that approached him with his greatsword.
Within a short time, the once-busy nest had fallen silent.
Kyle rested his greatsword against his shoulder and surveyed the area. Dead spiders lay scattered across the stone floor, while severed webs hung from the walls and ceiling. He waited briefly to make sure no more creatures were approaching before turning toward his companions.
"Any injuries?"
"None," one of the adventurers answered after checking the others. "Everyone’s fine. We didn’t even need to use any recovery potions."
Another member of the group chuckled as he wiped his weapon clean.
"At this rate, we’ll clear the first few areas much faster than expected. The spiders were numerous, but they weren’t particularly difficult to deal with once we kept our formation."
Kyle nodded, although he did not appear overly excited.
"Don’t get careless just because the first fight went well. We still have several areas to go through before we will arrive at the goblin village. Collect the useful materials, but don’t waste too much time. We should keep moving while everyone is still in good condition."
After clearing the spider nest, the Mad Wolves searched the surrounding area for anything worth collecting. They found a chest tucked away in a corner, partially hidden beneath a thick layer of spiderwebs. One of the adventurers opened it cautiously, only to discover a set of ordinary armor inside.
Although it was not particularly valuable, the armor was still in good condition and could be sold for a reasonable price. After checking that the chest contained nothing else, the group divided the useful materials they had collected and continued deeper into the dungeon.
Their next encounter came sooner than expected.
As the Mad Wolves passed through the corridors, several wolves suddenly emerged and launched a coordinated ambush. At almost the same time, a swarm of forest rats rushed out from beneath the undergrowth, attempting to attack the adventurers from multiple directions.
However, Kyle’s team reacted quickly. The front line intercepted the wolves while the ranged fighters dealt with the forest rats. Kyle swept his greatsword through the nearest enemies, cutting down the wolves before they could break through the formation. The rest of the Mad Wolves worked together to eliminate the remaining creatures, preventing the ambush from turning into a prolonged battle.
By the time the last monster fell, not a single member of the group had suffered an injury.
They continued their exploration, but the dungeon soon reminded them that its dangers were not limited to monsters. Several hidden traps were scattered throughout the corridors, and despite their careful movements, one of the adventurers accidentally triggered a concealed mechanism. A sharp projectile shot out from the wall, grazing his side and leaving a wound.
"Are you alright?" Kyle asked, immediately turning toward him.
The injured adventurer pressed a hand against the wound and grimaced. "It’s nothing serious. I can still move."
A teammate quickly cast a healing spell, closing the wound within moments. After confirming that the injured man could continue fighting, Kyle ordered everyone to remain more vigilant.
From then on, they paid closer attention to the ground and walls, carefully checking suspicious areas before proceeding.
Their journey continued without any major setbacks. They encountered more monsters along the way, but the Mad Wolves dealt with them efficiently, relying on their experience and equipment to overcome each threat.
Whenever they found useful materials or treasure, they collected what they could before moving on.
Eventually, the group arrived at the cemetery area.
The moment the skeletons began emerging from their resting places, the Mad Wolves responded with fire magic. Several adventurers raised their hands and unleashed flames across the battlefield, engulfing the approaching undead in blazing waves.
The skeletons tried to advance through the fire, but their brittle bones quickly began to crack and crumble beneath the intense heat.
The ranged fighters continued their assault, preventing the remaining skeletons from approaching the front line. Within a short time, the cemetery had been cleared, leaving only piles of charred bones scattered across the ground.
Kyle surveyed the area before turning to his companions.
"That should be the last area before the goblin village," he said, resting his greatsword against his shoulder. "We’ve made good progress, but we shouldn’t rush into the next fight without preparing ourselves. We’ll rest here for a while, check our equipment, and recover our mana before continuing."
His teammates readily agreed. Although the expedition had gone relatively smoothly, they had spent a considerable amount of energy dealing with monsters and navigating the dungeon’s traps. Taking a short break before entering the goblin village was the sensible choice.
"So far, the monsters haven’t posed a serious threat to us," he remarked. "But that doesn’t mean the goblin village will be just as easy.
The others nodded, understanding the importance of their assignment.
None of them knew what awaited them beyond the cemetery. For now, they could only use the information they had gathered to prepare for the final area of their investigation.
After resting for some time, the Mad Wolves finally resumed their expedition. Everyone had recovered enough stamina and mana to continue, and after checking their weapons and equipment one last time, they followed the passage leading toward the goblin village.
As they advanced, the surroundings gradually changed. The narrow corridors opened into a much larger chamber, revealing a settlement built within the cavern.
Rough wooden huts stood scattered across the area, connected by dirt paths and crude barricades. Wooden watchtowers had been erected near the settlement’s perimeter, while sharpened stakes and makeshift defensive structures surrounded several important positions.
It was clearly a goblin village, but its appearance was more organized than they had expected.
Before Kyle could examine the settlement more closely, the sound of arrows cutting through the air reached their ears.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
