Winning in the chaos

7 months had passed since Shin entered the lost dimension.

31th floor - Heaven headquarters

Lilith sat on her throne, once again attending another emergency meeting with the members of her clan. She was almost getting annoyed with it. However, remembering all the profit she was getting out of that mess made her mood get better immediately.

Besides, she loved being right, and it was fun seeing the faces of the councilors who had doubted her when she said that Shin would probably spend a year inside the test.

At this point, most of the clans had accepted that the crisis wouldn’t resolve itself, and a meeting with the Imperial Queen had already been scheduled, but they couldn’t expect her to solve the problem quickly.

"Just tell me your reports already," Lilith said to the men in the room, hoping to speed things up.

And soon, she began hearing about what was really happening all over the tower. As expected, the number of monsters being hunted had decreased significantly and continued to fall.

In this situation, by far the clan suffering the most was the Matra Clan. In general, they were recognized as the first Great Clan to be formed, but that wasn’t necessarily a positive thing.

The Matra Clan had focused primarily on hunting and large-scale mining. They even had a few higher floors under their control, but they had always been a clan that sought to control vast territories.

They controlled most of the lower floors, meaning their territory was the one suffering the most from Eva’s actions.

They weren’t only suffering because many guilds had been created on their floors, taking over their territory. Thousands of their members had also decided to leave the clan.

It was natural that once those people were suffering under their rule and found a better opportunity, they would take it. And even knowing that they could be killed later, once everything was over and guild wars were restored, many were willing to take that risk.

It was even difficult to estimate the size of the losses they had suffered. Lilith grimaced, noticing how the downfall of the Matra Clan was benefiting the Ice Wolf Clan.

And she had some reports suggesting that the money Eva was using was possibly coming from them. The fact that the 17th Floor had been left intact was another good clue.

But Lilith was sure that the stupid clan leader would never do something so cunning and smart, which meant there was someone else pulling the strings from the shadows to save the clan.

"We need more people investigating the Ice Wolf Clan," Lilith said. "And let’s try to be friendlier with them from now on."

"Are you sure? That will annoy the Blue Dragon and Matra Clans," one of the councilors asked.

"Yes, but I’m not sure if it’s worth getting into this war with them anymore. And even if they get a little bit pissed, what can they do when we hold so many supplies of different materials? We just need to give them a small discount, and they will be happy."

Lilith had gone through her plan of buying everything she could during the crisis, and this had made Heaven’s position even stronger. It also helped that, because they only held a single floor, they weren’t being affected by everything.

Following the reports, another councilor commented that he had confirmed the information that both the Blue Dragon Clan and the Shiwha Clan were actually beginning to create guilds in each other’s territories, trying to mess with each other.

Lilith bit her lower lip when she heard that. She knew that the two clans had a long-standing feud, but just how stupid could their leaders be? Couldn’t they understand that they were only sabotaging themselves?

That was actually the biggest problem with what Eva had done. Eva and her group had caused quite a lot of damage, but the people inspired by her were a real problem.

After all, Eva and her group were still controlled. They probably had plans and objectives in mind and were currently being more rational.

The guilds created by her followers, however, were scattered throughout the entire tower. They were intense, unpredictable, and destructive.

There was nothing more to be done. The fire had already started, and the only person with enough power to put it out was the Imperial Queen. But someone like her, who lived on another level compared to everyone else, wouldn’t rush to solve such a problem.

With how things were going, Lilith could really see multiple Great Clans falling in the future, with a complete change in the balance of power.

Could this be what Shin was seeking? That was the question that truly haunted the woman.

She knew there was something odd about that man, and not understanding his objectives worried her. At the same time, however, she couldn’t contain her smile and excitement.

Who would be happy with a boring, predictable world where everything was always the same? The chaos, the approaching war, and the great changes that were imminent made everything much more interesting.

And no matter what his intentions were, she was confident that she would always come out on top, just as she always had.

And amid that boring meeting, she inevitably clenched her thighs together, her excitement becoming almost sexual.

She wanted to see Shin once again. She wanted to see what crazy shit he had planned. She wanted to witness everything.

Maybe this is what they call love... she thought, wanting to leave the meeting as soon as possible.

She couldn’t wait for the day she would destroy Shin and kill him. She would do her best to make his end a spectacle, because she adored him so much.

She was grateful for the way he had turned the boring tower into such a chaotic environment. And what better way to express her love than with death?

Shin didn’t know it yet, but what he feared the most had happened. Lilith had become completely crazy once again, and nothing could hold her back.

After all, she was a woman who followed her desires, almost like an animal.
