GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2588: The Enemy Of The Bookworm.

Chapter 2588: The Enemy Of The Bookworm.

The god said to them, “I can either block you, or I can help you block anyone who comes to help the god of nobles. It all depends on you. As long as you promise to help me fight the god of knowledge, I will make sure that no one interferes with your fight with the god of nobles.”

Legion brightened up when they heard what the god was asking for. They thought to themselves, “An enemy of that smug bookworm is a friend of ours.”

So the virtual body said, “I swear on my authority as the god of illusion that as long as you make sure that no one interferes with my fight with the god of nobles and me taking his authority, I will help you to fight the god of knowledge.”

Legion had subtly added another condition to the deal without asking. They swore that they would only help this god fight the god of knowledge if this god helps them block anyone coming to help the god of nobles and block anyone who tries to stop them from taking the authorities in his possession.

The extra condition of blocking anyone who tries to stop them from taking the authorities in the possession of the god of nobles is a tough condition because it is highly likely that the god of crime and error will appear to block the virtual body.

But the god didn’t reject the extra condition. He only smiled and said, “So be it.”

Legion became wary when they heard this. The god had agreed too easily. It made them suspicious about his motive.

But they had no reason to stop now. They must have the authority of the pathway of nobles and the authority of the pathway of slavery, so they couldn’t hold back.

Legion decided to stop thinking about this strange god and start thinking about how to attack the god of nobles.

Before they came, they were prepared to come to the god of nobles as a helper and lull him into a false sense of safety before striking him. This was the choice they made because they wanted to kill the god of nobles quickly before anyone could interfere.

But now that they had gained a helper, they had more options about how to go about killing the god of nobles. They now have more time on their hands to make moves against the god of nobles.

After thinking about it, they decided to cripple the god of nobles first by attacking the nobles all over the world and destroying the Empire of Nobles. This way, the god of nobles won’t be able to resist when they strike him.

With this decision made, they created virtual copies that they sent all over the world and into the Empire of Nobles with the sole goal of killing every noble in existence.

The Mindscape is a part of their minds, so they could have used it to attack the minds of everyone they wanted to target. Since the Mindscape is everywhere, this attack would be silent, and they wouldn’t need to create virtual copies or virtual bodies to attack anyone.

But instead of using the omnipresent Mindscape, they keep using virtual bodies to attack in order to create the illusion that they needed it.

They did this when they attacked the god of illusion because they thought that it was the right thing to do to keep some of their capabilities hidden and because they thought that the god of illusion didn’t need them to use all of their strength.

But now that they know that the god of knowledge has been keeping tabs on them, they are glad that they kept something hidden and have made up their minds to keep hiding their capabilities until they can kill everyone in existence with it. After all, once all the people they reveal their capabilities to die, their capabilities will remain a secret.

The virtual copies spread around the world like a disease, killing as they went. The death of so many nobles couldn’t be hidden from the god of nobles.

Not only was he the god of the pathway of nobles, but he also needed his nobles to be strong and large enough to be the foundation of his pathway, so he kept tabs on nobles.

The god of nobles has been extra wary of someone attacking nobles ever since the god of justice tried to destroy the Empire of Nobles in order to weaken him. His vigilance has only increased since the god of crime and error became his enemy.

So he quickly became aware of the slaughter of nobles. However, even though he noticed this happening, there was just nothing he could do about it.

He couldn’t tell what was killing his nobles. All he could tell was that they were falling down dead.

Without knowing the source of the problem, there is no way to make a targeted plan to fix the problem. Besides, he didn’t think he could do anything to fix the problem because he thought that the god of crime and error was responsible for the death of the nobles.

When he sensed nobles dying by the thousands every minute, he laughed deprecatingly and said, “You have four pathways under your control and four sources of divinity, and you are in complete control of one pathway, yet you still use underhanded methods to target me. I feel so worthy.”

“Not only have you made it impossible for me to resist you, but you are also trying to cripple my power. How despicable. How lowly. How underhanded.”

“It is exactly what I would expect from the god of crime and error. He is truly worthy of being called the most shameless god.”

The god of nobles lamented his situation with sorrow and pain. Not once did he think the person responsible for the death of his nobles was anyone other than the god of crime. So he didn’t consider that the god of telepathy was responsible at all.
