Chapter 2569: United Again.

The vessel of the god of justice took the rank 8 divine flesh and began to assimilate it. The assimilation process went well. There was no rejection or difficulty whatsoever. It felt as if he was putting on an old cloth that he was very familiar with, not risking his life by assimilating alien flesh into his existence.

He was so fine with the process that he was able to assimilate a rank 9 divine flesh of the pathway of knights immediately after he was done with the rank 8 divine flesh.

From there, the giant blade bestowed a divine fragment on him. Since he already had a compatible innate talent, he was able to advance to become a godling easily.

Then the giant blade flew out of where it was kept and landed in his hand. He didn’t hesitate at all. He sacrificed all of his existence into the blade instead of trying to fuse with it as an equal.

But this self-sacrificing nature was exactly what the authority of the pathway of knights needed from him. He needed to be willing to do anything in order not to be treated as grass or an ant. His will needed to be as sharp as the edge of a blade.

In just a few seconds, he rose from the legendary rank to become the god of knights. The speed of his advancement was because his original body had become the god of knights before, and he had even become a godling knight before, but chose to cut away his power and memories and start over again to prove his dedication.

The god of knights said, “I am not a man. I am a blade that will cut down everything in its way.”

Then he flew over to join the fight. His flight through the air caused the air to wail and the earth to groan. The five gods that were fighting had to pause in order to get a good look at this intruder.

Only the god of justice wasn’t afraid of the interruption. Instead of being wary like the god of death, the god of disaster, the god of nobles, and the virtual body, he was elated and proud.

The giant sword flew to him and entered his body. The two of them fused to become one, so the divine power of the two of them combined. This instantly doubled the power of the god of justice.

The god of justice sneered at his enemies and said, “I hope you enjoyed the first round. But it is time for you to prepare yourself for the second round.”

As he spoke, his waxy translucent body became dark. This was because it was hardening into metal.

Eventually, the surface of his body hardened into black heavy armor. This made him look like a knight.

But the changes weren’t over. Many small black blades grew out from his black armor. This made him look like a porcupine.

Then he grew another pair of hands. This made a total of four hands. Finally, a large black blade grew out of his four hands.

He stopped being the god of justice that they knew him to be. He now looked like a blade demon. He didn’t appear like someone who fights for justice. Instead, he looks like someone who lives to battle.

This was his state when he had fought and killed the god of killing. But now he has grown stronger than that. This is because he has acquired artificial souls like the god of killing did.

Back then, he was carrying the two pathways with his talents. That had limited his potential. But that is no longer the case since his talent is not being used to support the two pathways anymore.

The kind of power he felt made him think to himself, “It was worth it to sever the pathway of knights and weaken myself. And it was worth it to wait so long for my clone to gain the support of the Blade of Man. It was all worth it.”

It had taken him a long time to achieve his current power. He had to give up half of his power in order to improve his potential. Then the god of nobles tried many times to kill his vessels, and the god of guardians made him guard the Ocean of Blood for many years.

Because he had separated the pathway of knights and made it independent of his innate talent, his vessel had to become worthy of the Blade of Man on its own. This was difficult to do because his vessel had his memories and didn’t have to struggle like he did when he became the god of justice.

So he had the vessel cut off his memories had started all over again. This was risky, but it eventually paid off. Now he is stronger than before.

When he thought of everything he had to do to gain control of the Blade of Man the first time and the second time, he couldn’t help but sneer at the virtual body’s chances of controlling the Mirror of the World.

He said to his enemies with confidence, “You will all die today.”

His main target is the god or nobles, but he doesn’t mind killing the god of death and the god of disaster, too. So he didn’t bother to persuade them from giving up.

As he spoke, he used the rank 1 Unity divine ability. This created a connection between him and all of his believers. His believers became his soldiers, and he became their commander.

The power of his millions of soldiers began to flow through him. It strengthened him enough to make the suppressive force of the world that the god of nobles has inflicted on him ineffective.

Not only that, all of his outer bodies that had been destroyed were healed, and his divine energy was replenished. So not only had he become stronger, but he had also recovered to his peak state.
