The combination of these two abilities made it look like the virtual body was beating up a lizard while the true god of illusion was escaping. This might have fooled other gods, but it didn’t fool Legion because they were immune to illusions.

Legion knew that the person they were beating was the god of illusion, not a lizard, so they refused to let go of the god of illusion to chase a phantom copy. This forced the god of illusion to use the Permanent Illusion divine ability.

The god of illusion created more copies of himself with the Clones divine ability and used the Permanent Illusion divine ability to solidify them. Then he had the solidified clones gang up on the virtual body in an attempt to free himself.

This move completely exhausted his divine energy. The fact that his believers were dying in droves all over the world without being saved meant that he wouldn’t be able to rely on them for help anytime soon.

So this move is his final means of freeing himself. His solidified clones carry all of his hope for him to keep his life.

Unfortunately, the virtual body used the Mind Howl divine ability, which shattered the solidified clones. This made the god of illusion despair.

Since he wasn’t going to escape with his true body, he made the rest of his outer bodies escape as an avatar. This created an imbalance in his soul and caused the artificial souls to begin to take control of his body, but he couldn’t care about that right now.
