GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2561: Ultimate Attack.

Chapter 2561: Ultimate Attack.

Normally, the virtual body is stronger than the god of illusion, so the virtual body should win a fight between the two of them. But thanks to the Storytelling divine ability and the suppression it created, the god of illusion will be the one to win the fight.

If Legion had gone to that city with their true body, the force restricting their power would have failed because they had the Aegis Shield divine ability. But their virtual body couldn’t use the divine abilities of other pathways, so it couldn’t resist this power.

The only saving grace was that the virtual body could still use the rank 10 divine abilities that originated from their innate talent. So the Environmental Adaptation divine ability and the Offensive Adaptation divine ability were able to take effect to help the virtual body.

The Environmental Adaptation divine ability made the virtual body adapt to the restrictive force and nullify its effect. So their weakened state won’t last for long.

On the other hand, the Offensive Adaptation divine ability helped by making their attacks, which should be weak, become stronger against the god of illusion.

Legion brought all of their offensive divine abilities to bear. They used Mental Armament to create mental weapons, which they used to attack the mind of the god of illusion. Then they used Mind Howl, Mind Plague, and Mind Domination divine abilities.

All of these divine abilities fell on the god of illusion, but he laughed in amusement.

He said to the god of telepathy, “You have lost by coming here. It has been foretold that you will lose here. You can never defeat me here.”

As he spoke, he laughed. It was a laughter full of pride and confidence.

He seemed very sure of his victory. His confidence in his victory also seemed warranted because all of the attacks didn’t do much harm to him.

Not only were the attacks too weak to do much to him, but he also had outer shells created with his avatars to bear the attacks for him. As a god with a total of 12 souls, he can have 9 avatars or 9 outer shells. So Legion will have to kill him 9 times before they can harm his true body.

On the other side, the virtual body doesn’t have outer shells and has been weakened. So it is much easier for the god of illusion to defeat and kill the virtual body.

The god of illusion chuckled and took out his Mirror of the world. Then he used the Painting divine ability and the Permanent Illusion divine ability on it.

These three abilities can be said to be the three most powerful tools of the god of illusion. He is using them together to create an attack now. It can be seen that he is taking the virtual body seriously.

The conditions of this fight are such that he has all the advantages and should be able to win. But he still didn’t relax.

He doesn’t want a measly victory against the virtual body. What he wants is a spectacular victory that will further reinforce the power of his storytelling and make it easier for him to defeat the god of telepathy in the future.

Normally, the Mirror of the World can only change the perception of others of the world. It is a tool for illusion, after all. But when the Painting divine ability is used on the Mirror of the World, changes can be made to the world by drawing those changes. Then the Permanent Illusion divine ability will make this change permanent.

The change he made to the world through the Mirror of the World this time was to erase the virtual body from existence. Even if Legion didn’t believe that their virtual body had disappeared, this change still took effect because its power wasn’t affected by what they thought or believed.

In one stroke of the conjured paintbrush, the virtual body disappeared from the world. The god of illusion said that the virtual body didn’t exist, so it stopped existing.

This should have cost at least 102,400 units of energy to do because that’s what it costs to create the virtual body. But it costs less than that to make the virtual body disappear.

In fact, it should have cost far more than 102,400 units of divine energy to make the virtual body disappear, or it should have been impossible to do because the virtual body was stronger than the god of illusion.

But because the power of storytelling had reduced the power of the virtual body of the god of telepathy by 50%, it became possible for the god of illusion to erase the virtual body. It was even easier to do and cost just 51,200 units of divine energy.

So it cost about half of what it should have cost to erase the virtual body. Compared to the 153,600 units of divine energy that he had spent to create the painted god of strength, it is clear that he made a good bargain in this deal.

If he had tried to use this kind of ability to erase the virtual copy while it was outside of this city, he would have spent far more divine energy because the power of storytelling wouldn’t have helped him. So the painted god of strength was a good decision to make.

This was proven to be true when the painted god of strength managed to defeat the virtual body that it was fighting and smashed it to pieces.

The painted god of strength had sustained some minor injuries. But the god of illusion healed them easily by drawing the god of strength to be whole in the Mirror of the World.

This was the same move that he used to erase the virtual body earlier. But he has used it to heal his creation now, and it cost him very little energy to do so.

After doing this, he laughed and said, “Come again, god of telepathy. Show me what else you can do.”
