Chapter 2539: Jumping A Sinking Ship.

The Lullaby divine ability was still working to make the god of dreams lower his resistance. But the power of the subordinate god was nowhere near enough to make the god of dreams give up resistance completely.

What made matters worse is that the subordinate god is a divine being reliant on him to live. So he could easily shut down her existence.

He did so immediately. He gave a single order and let the divine fragment within her reject her existence. This caused her to begin dying.

The god of dreams was also dying. He realized that this was going to happen even if Legion let him go. Since Legion wasn’t willing to let him go, he decided to try to escape.

He used the newly gained power from his authority to launch one final divine ability. The divine ability he launched was the Dream Wandering divine ability. This divine ability launched the only intact soul of his that hadn’t been completely contaminated by excess divinity into the dream island of someone nearby.

He jumped off the sinking ship that was his body and managed to escape with a fragment of his existence. But in exchange, his pathway lost the support of three souls and collapsed.

He stopped being the god of dreams. In fact, he stopped being a godclad of the pathway of dreams.

All of these reduced the resistance that Legion faced in using the Gestalt divine ability. This made it very easy for the copy of Legion-12’s mind to fuse with the two egos.

As he was doing this, the Seed of Dreams was already ejecting itself from the existence of the god of dreams. This was because the god of dreams can no longer be a god of the pathway since he is no longer a godclad of the pathway.

The divine body of the god of dreams is still intact. So the power of his divine body and the nine divine abilities in his body are still at his disposal. It is just that he can never improve.

The Seed of Dreams finally came out of the body of the god of dreams. It was a small, misty ball shining with a bright light. In the darkness of the dream realm, it was as if it were a star.

Legion-12 held the Seed of Dreams with the hand of the body of the god of dreams. He could touch it and hold it, but he couldn’t do anything with it.

This situation made Legion-12 curse and say, “I did all of that for this?”

Legion-1 said, “Gods are truly difficult to kill, even if they are weak.”

Legion-2 nodded and said, “Next time, we must go all out to disable their minds before we attempt to use Gestalt Mind divine ability on them. We were too impatient with the god of dreams and underestimated him.”

Legion-10 said, “There is also the fact that most of the fight took place in the dream realm, and we were limited to only the divine abilities of the pathway of telepathy. This handicapped us and made it very difficult to control the situation.”

If Legion-12 had been able to enter the dream realm with his body, the fight would have turned out differently. He would have been able to use the divine abilities of their other three pathways.

This would have been possible had he enslaved the subordinate god with the pathway of slavery. He would have been able to possess her and used the divine abilities of the pathway of slavery to share the divine abilities of their other three pathways with her.

Unfortunately, this didn’t happen because Legion didn’t want to alert the god of nobles. So he had to fight the god of dreams with only the copy of his mind, which limited what he could do.

While they were talking about the lessons that they had learned in this encounter, Legion-12 controlled the body of the god of dreams to return to the physical world. Unfortunately, he couldn’t take the Seed of Dreams with him because the authority of the pathway of dreams can’t be brought to the physical world unless it is controlled by someone.

Since Legion couldn’t control the Seed of Dreams, they couldn’t force it to enter the physical world. In order to solve this problem, Legion-12 activated the ultimate ability of the Mind Palace.

This ultimate ability is called Roaming. Once it is activated, it creates a virtual copy of their existence. This virtual copy is a phantom that can’t interact physically with the world. But the virtual copy can use the divine abilities of the pathway of telepathy.

Legion-12 placed this virtual copy into the mind of the previous god of dreams. Then he made the god of dreams return to the dream realm.

Once the god of dreams returned to the dream realm, the virtual Copy came out of his mind and entered the Seed of Dreams.

The next thing that Legion did was to activate the Gestalt Mind divine ability on the Seed of Dreams through the virtual copy. This rank 9 divine ability is what they used to gain control of the Mind Palace.

Now that they are using it through a virtual copy, it will cause the virtual copy to fuse with the Seed of Dreams. This way, they will be able to gain control of the Seed of Dreams even though they aren’t godclads of the pathway of dreams.

The normal way for angels of dreaming to gain control of the Seed of Dreams is to use their rank 9 Dream Body as a soil to plant the Seed of Dreams. Then they will nurture the seed within their body with their energy until it germinates. When the Seed of Dreams germinates, the body it is growing in will be elevated to become the god of dreams.

Legion doesn’t have the Dream Body divine ability. The only way to get it is to enslave a rank 9 dreamer with the pathway of slavery. But they can’t do that because there is no angel in the pathway of dreams.
