Chapter 2536: Doesn’t Need Help.

Legion-12 shook his head, “No, thank you. I can find whatever I want on my own. I won’t risk making you know what my true goals are by telling you to look for something for me.”

What he said was the truth. He doesn’t trust the god of seers enough to reveal anything important about himself.

If there is something that he could use the help of the god of seers to find, it would be the authority of the pathway of slavery called the Crown of Thorns. But he is not going to reveal the fact that he is looking for that to the god of seers or anyone else.

But there is another reason why he is not willing to employ the services of the god of seers. This reason is that he doesn’t need the god of seers.

After digesting so much information from the mind of the god of dreams, he has become knowledgeable about most of the things and events in this world. So it is very easy for him to find whatever he wants to find.

And this is even before they become the god of telepathy and can scour the minds of everyone all over the world without leaving their place.

There is also the Seed of Dreams. Once they get their hands on it and can control it, they will be able to roam the dream realm and search through the dreams of others for whatever they are looking for. So they don’t need to risk anything with the god of seers at all.

It was through the knowledge of the god of dreams that he learned that even though the god of knowledge had fused completely with the pathway of knowledge, he chose to keep the pathway open to others because he was confident of his strength and because opening the pathway up would let him gain more strength, not weaken him.

Most gods immediately retract all the power of a pathway once they have fused completely with it. This is done to make themselves stronger by assimilating all the divine flesh and to also prevent someone else from threatening their position on the pathway.

But the god of knowledge didn’t do this. Instead of hoarding all of the power of the pathway, he chose to share it. In exchange for sharing his power, he turned his pathway into a source of knowledge to improve his power.

The business that the god of knowledge is running through the white tower is not for charity. The god of knowledge gains knowledge from people through the white tower and uses that knowledge to enhance his knowledge-based abilities, the same way that the god of merchants enhances her power through the money earned from the vault of gold.

So instead of weakening, the god of knowledge had been growing stronger. His formidable strength is why the god of history disappeared from the world.

Legion-12 is no god of history. So it is all the more reason not to anger the god of knowledge. One measly offer to help them find something is not going to make them change their minds about this.

The god of seers saw that he was stubborn. So he sighed and said, “What if I give you this subordinate god to eat? Will that be enough to kill every angel and godclad in the pathway of knowledge?”

Legion was tempted by the offer. This was because they would need to eat a lot of divine beings to grow their divine body once they become gods.

They already have the body of the god of dreams and the body of the subordinate god of dreams prepared to be eaten. But the more divine bodies they have, the faster they will be able to grow.

However, Legion-12 didn’t let their greed blind them. He said, “One subordinate god isn’t enough. I’m not that easy to buy off.”

The seer said, “Fine. I’ll give you 2.”

Legion-12 raised an eyebrow and said, “I want 5.”

The seer shook his head and said, “You’re too greedy. Take 3.”

Legion-12 insisted, “5.”

The seer said, “That’s not how to negotiate. Take 4.”

Legion-12 replied, “Give me 5.”

The seer said in anger, “5. Final offer.”

This offer was far from what they would need to maximize their power after they become gods. But they didn’t ask for more because they didn’t want the god of seers to know just how strong they would be after they became gods. Besides, they could always look for more godlings if they need more.

The god of seers is also on the menu of what they can eat if they need more power after they become gods. After all, they offered him a deal to keep his mouth shut and live, but he decided to accept their deal.

But Legion-12 didn’t accept the deal immediately. He said to the seer, “Let me ask you this? Why don’t you make a move yourself? Why don’t you use someone like the god of fate to curse them to die?”

The seer replied, “I need someone who can act discreetly and who is difficult to find. I need someone like that to make the move because I need the god of knowledge to be uncertain. You may not know this, but uncertainty is the greatest weakness of the god of knowledge.”

“There is also the fact that if I act or if the god of fate acts, he will be able to easily discover that we are the ones who made the move, and he will be able to easily find us.”

Legion-12 heard this and curled his lips into a sneer as he said, “You must take me for a fool if you expect me to believe that. I know that uncertainty is bad for the god of knowledge, but it is not as bad as you make it out to be.”

“I think the main reason why you don’t want to act yourself is because you don’t want the god of knowledge to know more about what you’re capable of.”
