Chapter 2442: Combination Power.

Most pathways have one or two divine abilities that work together and enhance the final output of an attack. Take nobles, for example; they have the rank 3 Setting Rules divine ability, the rank 4 Land Sovereign divine ability, and the rank 7 Domain divine ability that can combine.

They can weaken an enemy by using other divine abilities such as the rank 2 Noble Suppression divine ability and the rank 8 Heritage divine ability.

They can also enhance their own power with the rank 1 Noble Blood divine ability, rank 5 Noble Title, and rank 6 Ancestral Power divine ability. But the maximum number of divine abilities that they can make work together to achieve a single thing is always three.

But killers are not like that. All the divine abilities of killers from rank 1 to rank 9 are geared towards one single thing and can work together to create a single move that can achieve that singular purpose.

In Legion’s current liberated state, they could take on an angel. If the noble had been in his liberated divine form, his fate wouldn’t have turned out so bad.

He would be injured for sure in his liberated divine form, but the injury wouldn’t have been so bad because he would have a larger body to take the hit.

Unfortunately, he was too cocky. He believed that he could take on a killer of the same rank without going all out.

To be fair, this was because he doesn’t have any experience with killers. He and most of the world are ignorant of the power of killers because there are very few legendary killers in existence.

The church of justice has almost eradicated every killer at rank 7 and above. This has made the world lack the experience with fighting killers. Plus, the way they kill killers has made many people believe that killers are not so fearsome.

But the truth is that the fact that judges can take advantage of the sins of killers to easily kill them doesn’t mean killers are weak. Unfortunately, it’s too late for this demigod noble to learn this lesson now.

It might not be too late for the undying demigod, though. This man had turned and run as soon as he sensed the power of that attack.

The undying godclad even liberated his divine form to boost his protection. Then he activated his rank 8 divine ability and disappeared completely.

Legion had wanted to chase after him. They wanted to use the now empowered blood limb to test the defense of undying godclads. But the undying demigod had run even before they dealt the noble demigod the lethal blow.

This made Legion frown. Legion-1 said with a scowl, “He is smart. I don’t like smart people.”

Not only is this undying demigod smart, but he also possesses divine abilities for helping him keep his life.

If there is another pathway that can compare to the pathway of killers in the potential of combining divine abilities, it would be undying godclads.

Undying godclads are largely harmless. But this is only because every single divine ability of theirs is for keeping them alive.

Even a foolish person would be able to live a long life as an undying godclad. If that undying demigod had been stupid, the warning from his rank 6 Danger Divine sense would have been enough for him to recognize that he was over his head.

Only suicidal, undying godclads can be easily killed. But this becomes even more difficult to do when the undying godclad advances to rank 8.

This is because at rank 8, they gain the Invisibility Shield divine ability. This is a divine ability that makes demigods become invisible to all forms of sensory and cognitive perception.

With this divine ability, they can evade all sorts of danger by disappearing from the world. As long as the invisibility shield is not broken and they don’t run out of energy, they will not be discovered.

This made Legion sigh. Legion-4 said, “At this rate, we might have to go to the spiritual dimension to get the rank 8 divine flesh of the pathway of undying.”

They had wanted to attack and kill the demigod in order to get the rank 8 divine flesh in his possession. But he gave them no chance at all.

They could only sigh while they scoured the mind of the noble to find his stash of wealth and the information on how to acquire it.

They wouldn’t have to do this if the noble was turned into their slave. Unfortunately, they couldn’t do that because the noble was dying.

Both the body and soul of the demigod noble had been broken by that attack. So he was going to die, and there was nothing they could do about it.

The best they could do was salvage the memories of his mind with the Mind Domination divine ability. They converted fragments of his broken mind into memory fragments as he was dying.

On the other hand, the demigod telepath could be enslaved by them. They did this quickly and then sent her to find illusionists for them.

She knew where many legendary and demigod illusionists lived. She had only lied to them in order to trap them. Now she was making up for her attempt to deceive them by acquiring the illusionists for them.

While she was doing this, Legion went to harvest the demigod noble’s vast storehouse of wealth. It was a lot of work, but they were very happy to do so.

The noble did have a lot of wealth. After all, he was the strongest noble in a family of nobles that controls a large city.

He controlled a large city like Reinfield together with four legendary nobles. This city was some distance away from the place they had fought, so the city was still intact.

The four legendary nobles had sensed the death of their elder through their bloodline link and chosen to escape. But they got greedy for the wealth in their storehouse, which doomed them.
