GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2443: Fearsome New Guy.

Chapter 2443: Fearsome New Guy.

Instead of escaping immediately they sensed the death of their demigod ancestor, they wanted to take away their wealth first before they escaped.

This delay made them still present when Legion came over to keep the storehouse safe after the death of its strongest protector.

Legion didn’t waste time fending off the four nobles. They killed two, while two escaped for their dear lives.

The two they killed weren’t killed because they wanted to fight Legion. Those two also wanted to escape. But they were too close to Legion, which sealed their fate.

Legion could still chase and find the other two legends that escaped, but they decided not to do that because this was a foreign kingdom and they had spent too much time in enemy territory already.

All they wanted to do was to clear out the contents of the storehouse for safekeeping before they could be interrupted. So they focused on doing that instead of chasing the two escaped legends.

Fortunately, they had borrowed the Power of Wealth divine ability, so they were always carrying a storehouse around that could store gold and also empower them.

As for the large amount of energy water, they stored that in the Mindscape through the virtual flesh. It was during this process that they found that the Mind Hunters believed that the demigod telepath had died.

They thought that she had died because the trading market and library that she used to control in the headquarters of the Mind Hunters had stopped functioning.

Even if she had removed her consciousness from the Mindscape, the trading market that she established should still be in place because it should still be connected to her mind.

The two reasons why the trading market would disappear are if she willingly quit the Mind Hunters organization and got rid of all of her virtual flesh or if she died. This was why they suspected that she had died.

The second piece of information that confirmed their suspicion was that she had been begging people for help before her mind disconnected from the Mindscape and her trading platform fell apart.

She had asked a lot of people for help before she got the assistance of the demigod noble. Many of the people she asked for help were the telepaths of the Mind Hunters organization.

She even told them that the person trying to kill her was a demigod with the pathways of undying, telepathy, and slave master. She even told them the identity of the person.

She said it was the legendary telepath that was asking around for the location of illusionists earlier. They knew this person to be a new telepath, but they were not willing to mess with the person after discovering that he was also a rank 8 demigod.

Godclads with more than one legendary pathway are very rare and very powerful. They are also prone to losing their minds easily, so they should be treated with caution and avoided at all costs.

The fact that this one was able to defeat the demigod telepath and make her desperate enough to ask for help made them decide not to antagonize her enemy or help her.

So they were not surprised when her trading platform collapsed, and they thought that she had surely died. This made them very surprised when her mind reconnected to the Mindscape and she reappeared to set up her broken trading platform.

The Mindscape began to buzz with news of her death and reappearance. She said that everything was fine, but no one believed her. Especially since her mind had disconnected from the Mindscape.

They remembered that she had said that her enemy was also a slave master who could use the Imprison divine ability. So they could figure out why her mind disconnected from the Mindscape and why she could return and claim that nothing had happened.

All of them also became wary of this new legendary telepath. Unfortunately, the only thing they knew about this dangerous fellow was what the demigod telepath had told them. They didn’t know who the person was in the physical world or where they lived.

They didn’t even know how to recognize the person in the Mindscape. So they couldn’t avoid the person even though they wanted to.

This was why Legion was able to discover what everyone knew. The legendary telepaths were talking about it and didn’t avoid Legion.

The legendary telepaths didn’t know that Legion was the person they were talking about. But Legion was still unhappy that the demigod telepath had blabbed and told people about them.

It was a good thing that it was of no use getting angry at her now, or they would have punished her. She was already their slave and puppet, so any punishment they inflict on her will be inflicted on their prized tool and would hurt them too.

So they only snorted in anger in the physical dimension and continued to deposit the vats of energy water into the Mindscape.

The demigod noble had a lot of wealth, but this is not surprising for someone of his status and caliber. Every demigod noble has to have a lot of wealth if they hope to become angels.

Demigod nobles that aspire to become angels of nobility must have a lot of wealth, influence, and a powerful family and bloodline. This is the foundation of the power of Heritage and the way that demigod nobles compete to become angels of nobility.

The Heritage divine ability is the rank 8 divine ability of nobles. It is normally used as a cloak of protection that reduces the amount of damage that nobles receive from an attack. So the Heritage divine ability increases the survivability and durability of nobles.

The protection of the Heritage divine ability doesn’t work against the Sever divine ability since it cuts through everything. But the Heritage divine ability makes up for this deficiency by being really effective against other nobles and many other pathways.
