Chapter 1685: Part 2: Sandfall ruin

Chapter 1685: Part 2: Sandfall ruin

From MC’s Perspective

I heard both of their words. But Hank was rather silent. He had something on his mind, but he was not letting it out.

“Hank, do you need to add something?” I asked him.

Hank collected his thoughts and said, “Master, I usually find resources for a breakthrough from this city. I have a feeling that the ruin might contain resources for a breakthrough to reach the Supreme level.”

Hearing that, my eyes flashed with excitement. Patrick and Otto were surprised as well. It was rather good news.

Then I recalled something and asked, “What about the mental method?”

I knew he had an incomplete mental method. But he had been deducing the mental method.

Hank smiled and answered, “I’m close to completing it. Once I get the resources in my hand, I will fully concentrate on completing the remaining few hurdles.”

Hank’s confident words made me trust him. He was the only one with level-9 strength. The other three were one level above him.

I myself will break through in a couple of days. So, it is all the more important to explore this ruin. I thought of something and picked up my digital device.

I saw there was no signal. My eyes flickered. Manager Lara and the others might be thinking I’m still at Broospire Town.

But that town will be engulfed by chaos soon.

After exploring the ruin, I should not stay here. I should establish communication with the Silver Tower as soon as possible.

Patrick, Otto, and Hank were waiting. They could tell that the Master fell into deep thought again.

A few minutes later,

I collected my thoughts and said, “Let’s enter the ruin tonight. Then we will make a plan depending on how the situation unfolds.”

“Hank, take two of them to buy necessary life saving items. Since it’s a ruin, we need more antidotes for poison and other evil magic,” I said to him.

Hank nodded his head. Patrick and Otto stood up from their seats.

“Do you guys need mana stones?” I asked them.

“Master, we have mid grade mana stones with us. If we use super grade mana stones of yours, then we will be caught,” Otto said.

“Okay, find something useful for the Vine Monster as well,” I said to them.

I also told them to be careful of the guards. Since they are Supreme Wizards, they could be inspected.

Hank promised he would take care of it if anything occurred. Hearing that, I nodded to them.

Then I stood up and went to my room.

Patrick, Otto, and Hank left the place a few minutes later.

Inside the hotel room, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. The Vine Monster had once again expanded its size. Its body covered the whole hall.

I was confused. Then I noticed that the Monster was asleep. After a long time, it had tasted the water resource from the pond.

I also noticed there was no sign of the old injuries on the Vine Monster. It had become strong.

Maybe I could use the help of the monster to eliminate enemies tonight.

Then I withdrew my gaze and went to my room.

Meanwhile

Patrick, Otto, and Hank were walking on the street. They could see that the streets were filled with fewer people.

Hank saw this scene and understood something. The city guards’ inspection must have caused panic among the locals.

Otto and Patrick were observing the surroundings.

Otto was using magic to overhear the conversations. Patrick was monitoring the situation. He was sensing the presence of the Supreme Wizards here.

It could be the city guards doing their duty.

As they continued to walk on the street, Otto knew what was going on. He overheard the conversation of the people and the city guards.

“It is not wise to stay here. The city guards have captured suspicious people,” Otto said.

Hearing that, Patrick thought of something and said, “Could it be that they were capturing people to explore the ruins?”

“It’s possible. Let’s purchase the necessary items first,” Otto said.

Then, with the help of Otto, Hank led the way forward to a store which was not surrounded by the city guards.

After reaching the store, they started buying the necessary items from the shop. It didn’t take long for them to buy all the necessary items.

Then they started walking back. The whole street was empty. As if some lockdown was imposed on the city.

About 10 minutes later,

They returned to the hotel and started preparing for the night-time exploration. They didn’t go to disturb Master’s sleep.

City Lord Office

There is a large building made of sand.

The City Lord was in his office. He was an old man who appeared to be in his sixties. But his actual age was very old. He is over 700 years old.

His name was Coleman. He doesn’t have a single hair on his head or face. His face was wrinkled. For the last 250 years, he had been looking for an opportunity to break through.

Once he broke through, he would become a Forbidden Wizard. More than 250 years ago, he had come to this city and killed the former City Lord.

Then he occupied his position. Since then, he had been ruling over Sandfall City as the City Lord. The reason behind that was to find the treasure hidden underneath the sand region.

He got a clue that the hidden treasure would help him break through to the Forbidden Wizard. That’s why he had been looking for the ruins ever since.

He had not even allowed outside forces to get wind of this. Even he had protected the secret from the Mage Union.

Now that the entrance to the ruins was found by the locals, he is not going to miss the opportunity. He had put a lockdown in place.

Not only that, he used a magic artifact to block communication so that no one from the city could contact the forces outside.

Similarly, no one was allowed to enter the city. Sandfall City was a remote city. It will take time for the big forces to learn about the abnormal situation here.

Before that, he was confident of exploring the ruins and finding those treasures inside it.
