Chapter 1669: Dust Spur Gang

I started monitoring their work. As the seconds went by, I felt someone was watching me, but I was sure there was no one here.

I even used the system function to check. Then, I confirmed that no one else was near us. But the feeling was real.

This feeling was not new. I had been experiencing it ever since entering the Nocturnal Forest. I had the same feeling back in the underground cave hideout.

Now, I was having the same feeling here again. I didn’t tell the others about it. Patrick and Otto are Supreme Wizards; even they couldn’t sense anything abnormal here.

Otherwise, they would have told me. So, I decided to wait and watch.

Meanwhile

The teams from the local forces were doing their work. From time to time, the wizards who went out to survey returned to their camps.

There were many camps. Each camp belonged to the local forces. These forces had their own teams to explore the ruins.

In one particular camp, the wizards started reporting to their higher ups. Among them, one person was missing. The person was none other than Hank.

The camp belonged to a force called the Dust Spur Gang. The Dust Spur Gang organization was made up of more than one wizard family.

The higher ups heard about Hank. They knew he could be late, so they didn’t worry about him.

Hank was an elderly person. His condition was weaker than the others. They believed that Hank might take some time to return.

As time went by, the teams reported the information and went back to their work. The higher ups went through the information.

But they didn’t find any ruins. Instead, the wizards had come across many monsters hidden in the forests.

At least this information was useful to them. Not long after, the higher ups’ discussion shifted to other matters.

Especially about the three outsiders. The outsiders were living in the forests, but they didn’t know where. It was embarrassing for them.

They were the local forces. It should have been easy for them to find the intruders. Yet, they had failed in their tasks.

It played on their ego. They were angry about it. If they delayed any further, the news could leak outside.

The news about the exposed ruins was important. If the news reached the Mage Union’s ears, then no force in the world could stop them.

The local forces were ants in front of them. The local forces decided to have another meeting. They would discuss their next course of action.

Magic City

The undercurrents in the Magic City were still surging. But the search hunt had been stopped by the Wizard forces. They were unable to find the wizard who had the outer space item.

The Magic Towers had stopped their search earlier because they knew the identities of the wizards.

They couldn’t find the whereabouts of Forbidden Wizard Erwin and Edmund. It was clear to them that they were out of the Magic City.

The Magic Towers and the wizard families lost hope. They thought Forbidden Wizard Erwin might have used the outer space item already.

Many of them thought that he must have sold it for an enormous price, so they stopped bothering about it.

Then, their attention turned towards the Black Tower. Because of the chaos, they forgot to pay attention to Forbidden Wizard Edmund’s defeat by Erwin.

It was a huge defeat for the Black Tower. They knew the power of Forbidden Wizard Edmund. The old man was more powerful than most of the Forbidden Wizards.

Yet, he was defeated by Forbidden Wizard Erwin. Unlike other Forbidden Wizards, Erwin was low-key. He rarely made a move, so many of the forces were clueless about his strength.

But this result made them evaluate Erwin’s strength again. Even the factions inside the Silver Tower regarded Erwin as a threat.

Though it was not about open hostility. It was about whose voice held dominance inside the Silver Tower.

Meanwhile

The Sutton Family was able to rescue Young Master Hale and Elder Abel. But they had to lose enormous wealth in the process.

Someone in the Mage Union had helped them out. But he didn’t do it for free. By helping them, the factions inside the Mage Union had offended the Silver Tower people.

They got the resources as compensation. The Sutton Family could only endure it. They had lost a huge bet this time, so they had to pay for it.

But the higher ups of the Sutton Family didn’t forget Forbidden Wizard Erwin and Vincent Carey.

They were able to rescue Young Master Hale and Elder Abel, but they had sacrificed Guardian Marvin and City Lord Dorian in the process. They were not going to forget this loss.

Unfortunately, the whole Magic City was yet to recover from the matter. If they did anything, then their actions would be exposed.

They decided to take action later. Until then, they would monitor the situation. If news about the two of them came out, then they would do something about it.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t take action against Forbidden Wizard Erwin. They could only take out their anger on Vincent Carey.

The name was quite popular already. Now the name had spread from top to bottom in their family. If any family member saw Vincent Carey, they would target him.

Silver Tower

The situation inside the Silver Tower was still somewhat tense. Both Forbidden Wizards, Erwin and Charlotte, were not there.

Manager Lara was the one facing all the questions. It was an open secret that she was close to both Forbidden Wizards.

So the rest of them thought that she was hiding their whereabouts. Fortunately, because of Elder Dana’s support, she was able to withstand the crisis.

On the other hand, the wizard seeds and official members’ movements inside the Silver Tower had become active.

If Vincent Carey were here, he would be shocked to the core because there were more unfamiliar faces than known faces here.
