Chapter 1668: Part 2: Wizard Hank
Chapter 1668: Part 2: Wizard Hank
From MC’s Perspective
Nocturnal Forest
“Yes, Master. Before I could complete the mental method, I was reaching the end of my lifespan,” Hank said to us.
I nodded to Hank and said, “You are part of my team now, so don’t worry about anything else.”
“Now, tell us about the forests here and why the local forces are looking for us,” I added with a smile.
Hank came to a sudden realization. He knew about the local forces’ orders; according to his information, a team of outsiders had entered the forest.
Local forces did not want the news leaked. They had discovered ruins here and wanted to keep them for themselves.
After realizing that the “outsiders” were none other than the three people in front of him, Hank collected his thoughts and started explaining the situation.
A few minutes later, I had the full picture. Otto and Patrick looked at each other. Instead of getting serious, they were amused.
They knew my true identity. The Magic Tower and the Mage Union were behind me; the local forces were merely ants in comparison.
Hank saw our expressions; none of us were scared. Instead, there was a clear sign of amusement. Hank was internally shocked.
“Master, it appears none of the ruins were explored completely. Maybe we could be the first,” Otto said.
Hank recalled something and added, “Master, I have information about other ruins as well.”
Hearing that, I said, “Good. We can explore this stone passage first. It’s going to be our hideout. We can discuss the rest later.”
The four of us entered the stone passage. Hank was taken aback; he didn’t expect there to be old ruins below the entangled trees.
The other local forces had never come to this place; it was his first time trespassing here. He immediately began using his magic power to record the terrain.
It had become a habit of his. If he entered any new place, the first thing he would do was map the area.
I noticed his actions. Seeing the new member using magic, I was impressed. I valued Hank’s magic power; otherwise, I wouldn’t have saved him.
I was generally more interested in capturing Supreme Wizards. I felt three crimson orbs in my mind and believed I could subdue more people after becoming a Supreme Wizard myself.
My stats had reached the limit, except for the mana core. I was going to attempt the breakthrough soon.
Maybe I would become a Supreme Wizard before returning to the Silver Tower. Unfortunately, the connection was lost here.
I couldn’t contact the Silver Tower, but I had already informed Manager Lara about my whereabouts. In case of an emergency, she would know where to find me.
Meanwhile
The forest trees outside the stone chamber moved without any wind, as if they were monitoring the place.
Elsewhere, the local forces were divided. One group was still looking for the outsiders, while the other was exploring the ruins.
They wanted to secure the benefits before the information leaked, but they were unable to locate us.
That night, we cleared one of the single rooms. The four of us stayed inside. My gaze fell on the other three. I decided to enter the Gregor Mansion, but before that, I gave them instructions.
Swoosh!
I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. I went to bed and lay down.
Outside, Hank was nervous. He was a Level 9 Wizard, but the two seniors were Supreme Wizards. He couldn’t rest at all.
Patrick and Otto saw through his anxiety.
Otto said, “You don’t have to be scared. You are part of the team now. Listen to the Master, and you will get more benefits.”
Patrick smiled and added, “Master has a bright future, so follow him without any doubts.”
Hearing that, Hank sighed in relief and relaxed. He closed his eyes and began to rest. Otto and Patrick exchanged looks; they were going to stay alert.
It was a nocturnal forest, and the local forces were hunting them. They had to protect this site.
Otto and Patrick decided to take shifts monitoring the place.
Time went by. Otto stayed awake, using a magic spell to detect anyone approaching. It didn’t take long for Patrick to take his shift.
While Otto rested, Patrick kept watch. From time to time, Hank opened his eyes and saw that one of the Supreme Wizards was standing guard.
Hank was surprised. He wanted to keep watch himself, but the two Supremes told him to rest, so he closed his eyes again.
The following day, inside the Gregor Mansion, I woke up.
After getting out of bed, I finished my morning routine in an hour. Then, I appeared in the hall.
I sat cross-legged on the ground, took out a few super-grade mana stones, and held them in my palm.
Closing my eyes, I started running the Gravity Ark Mental Method.
Gravity mana from the surroundings and the stones entered my body. I guided the energy according to the mental method.
After circulation, the gray mana entered the mana core space, where the gravity mana core absorbed it.
Seeing this, I continued to repeat the process.
Outside, the three of them were awake, waiting for Master to appear so they could continue their work.
Patrick and Otto were learning about the locals from Hank.
They learned that the local forces had Magic Lords, but there was no mention of Forbidden Wizards in their families.
Even the Magic Lords were very old, with no information regarding their remaining lifespans.
Patrick and Otto weren’t surprised. If the forces had Forbidden Wizards, there would be no need for them to stay in such a remote place.
A 2 hours later,
I appeared outside. My gaze fell on them. I understood that they were waiting for me.
“Let’s continue the work. I’m interested in this ruin,” I said to them.
Then three of them started working. They began clearing out the rooms one by one. Like they had suspected, the ruin is bigger. They need more time to explore the place.
