Chapter 1667: Part 1: Wizard Hank
Chapter 1667: Part 1: Wizard Hank
From MC’s Perspective
I continued to look at the old man. The old man did not believe he would be okay.
“What’s your name?” I asked him.
The old man gathered his thoughts. He looked at the person in front of him and said, “My name is Hank.”
The old man realized that his fate was sealed. Suddenly, he felt something wrong with his mana core.
When he inspected his body internally, he found that his mana core was covered in crimson magic chains. The chains were formed of magic characters.
He recalled this person’s words earlier. Now he understood that he had become a servant of the person in front of him.
He broke out into a cold sweat thinking about it. He was serving one of the local forces earlier, but even they didn’t have such methods to control others.
He had been working for them because of magic resources, though he was barely able to earn a meager living. But the person in front of him seemed to be strong.
On the other hand, I used the system to check old man Hank’s condition. His details appeared on the panel in front of me.
Like others, he had exhausted his wizard potential. That’s why he appeared to be so old. I immediately thought of the lifespan increasing potion.
Fortunately, he was not a Supreme Wizard, so I could use lesser treasures for him. I took out a green potion from the storage ring.
It was one of the resources piled up inside the storage ring, belonging to the looted items. I confirmed with the system that it could be used by a Level-9 Wizard.
“Take this. It will increase your lifespan,” I said to him.
Hank was taken aback. For a second, he thought he heard something wrong. Then, he chose to believe it.
He accepted the potion and drank it without a second thought. Because he was already under control, he couldn’t disobey orders.
After consuming the magic potion, changes took place inside his body. Hank’s old body began to recover.
His dry mana core was the first to recover. His old veins and inner organs were getting healed as well.
His old, wrinkled face began to heal in the blink of an eye. Hank was shocked. He could feel the changes.
He then took out a mirror from his storage ring and checked his appearance. He saw his own face and was shocked to the core.
He appeared to be a person in his fifties. His hair was black and white. Hank realized his fate had changed.
He then turned towards the person in front of him and accepted him as Master.
“Master,” he uttered.
Hearing that, my eyes flickered. I didn’t know whether he was saying it truthfully or not, but the system didn’t warn me.
I was not afraid. If he dared to show any rebellious thoughts, then the magic curse would act.
“What’s your magic ability?” I asked him.
Though I had already checked his magic ability with the help of the system, I wanted to hear it from his mouth.
“Master, I can use a magic spell to record geological information. It will be helpful in mapping and surveying,” Hank said with a smile.
Hearing that, I understood. Then I appeared before him and grabbed his shoulder. The next second, I appeared outside.
Thud!
We landed on the ground. The old man was stunned. He saw that we were back in the same forest.
“What’s going on?” he asked himself.
Hank looked towards the new master in disbelief. He thought it must be some kind of spatial treasure.
“Follow me,” I said to him without turning back.
Hank came back to his senses. Then he started following me.
A few minutes later, we came to the stone entrance. Otto and Patrick were standing outside. Upon seeing me, both of them greeted me.
“Master!”
Then their gaze fell on the middle aged man behind me.
“Meet our new member. His name is Hank. I took him under my control,” I said to them.
Hank stepped forward with fear because he found the two middle-aged men in front of him were Supreme Wizards.
They were calling the person in front of him “Master” as well. It showed the identity of the person was indeed special.
He had made the right decision to accept his fate. Otherwise, he would have died. He wouldn’t have gotten the opportunity to increase his lifespan as well.
Otto and Patrick were in shock as well. They were shocked because they were Supreme Wizards. They had thought the Master would accept another Supreme Wizard next time.
But they didn’t think it would be a Level-9 Wizard.
On the other hand, I saw through their doubts.
I smiled and said, “I know you guys are confused. But listen to his magic power. You guys will understand.”
Hearing that, Otto and Patrick were curious.
Hank said, “I can use my magic power to record terrain information and create a map.”
Otto and Patrick were stunned.
“No wonder. You were stuck at Level-9. It’s a rare type of magic. You have to create your own method,” Patrick said with some understanding.
Otto’s eyes flickered. As a Supreme Wizard, he saw through Hank’s condition.
“It appears the master gave you a special potion. Not many can create their own mental method. Many talented wizards failed to complete their mental method because of a lack of lifespan.”
“You were lucky to be saved by the Master. Now you have the opportunity to reach the Supreme level,” Otto said to him.
On the other hand, I got some understanding of the mental method as well. Hank exhausted his potential not because of limited talent, but because of the incomplete mental method.
Fortunately, I didn’t have such situations to go through. I am grateful to the late Gravity Ancestor and the Forbidden Wizard Esther Edwards.
I was using two of their inheritances.
Hank was shocked to the core once again. The two Supreme Wizards revealed his truth. His magic was rare. In one way or another, it opened the door to the wizard path.
But it also brought difficulty. He had used many old mental methods for research. Then he created his own method after several trials.
