Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1660 1660: Part 4: Brookspire town

From MC’s Perspective:

Manager Lara took 10 minutes to explain everything. She didn’t want me to return, because Lord Charlotte and Lord Erwin had left the Silver Tower for some time.

Even the Elders and other higher-ups were after the outer space item. After knowing the truth, I was shocked internally.

Fortunately, I had made a good decision to leave.

Manager Lara then ended her call. I shifted my focus to my current situation.

I didn’t know how the new place would be. I had only read about it in books.

Time went by.

The next morning, the Black Raven aircraft reached the destination. I turned towards Patrick and Otto, then I told them.

Creak!

The cabin door opened. The next second, both of them walked out and stood in mid-air. Seeing that, I turned off the stealth mode and stopped the aircraft.

Swoosh!

Then I appeared outside and took the Black Raven aircraft into the system space.

I appeared by the side of Patrick and Otto. Then we started looking towards the town.

The town appeared to be small with no towering buildings. There were modern, small to medium-sized houses.

Even the city wall surrounding the city was small. I could see that the town was not that big as well.

When my gaze went beyond the city wall, I saw the dark forest stretching across endlessly.

A hint of seriousness appeared in my eyes. It was the Nocturnal Forest. It was one of the forbidden areas designated by the Mage Union.

Patrick and Otto were looking at the town as well. Their expressions were not that impressive, because they found that the town was too small.

“Hmmm. Master, I don’t think that town would accept any visitors,” Otto said.

Hearing that, my eyes flickered.

I asked, “Did you hear anything?”

Patrick turned towards Otto as well. Otto could use his magic to listen to far-away voices.

Otto nodded his head and said, “The town only has mercenaries from outside who are here for the forbidden forest trip.”

I raised my eyebrows in surprise because I had read that the forest didn’t have anything valuable. Then why were mercenaries here?

I thought it was good to find out. So, I told them that we were changing our identities to mercenaries. We were here to explore the forest as well.

If any townsmen asked, we would say this to them. Hearing that, Otto and Patrick both agreed.

Then we landed on the ground and started walking on foot. If we ended up there abruptly, it would alarm others.

Fortunately, we saw a few more groups of wandering wizards going towards the same place.

My eyes immediately scanned their strength. They were between Level 7 and Level 8. A few of them were Level 9 Wizards.

But not one of them was a Supreme Wizard. Even the Level 9 Wizards appeared to be aged, like they could die at any time.

Soon, we reached the small gate. I was worried that the guards would ask for IDs. But to my surprise, something else was going on.

I saw that the guard was collecting money from people who were going to the Nocturnal Forest directly. He was asking for IDs from those who were going to stay inside the city.

I asked Otto to collect information. He started listening further. We stood at the back of the line and waited for our turn to come.

“Master, this town has a small base inside the forest. Presumably, in the periphery of the forest. If we give them 1000 mid-grade mana stones, then we can use their base for one month,” Otto said to me.

A hint of surprise flashed in my eyes. I had never expected townspeople to be able to do this. So they had started collecting mana stones as well.

Then I decided to use the base as well. I didn’t want our identities to be exposed. Who knows? There could be Supreme Wizards or Magic Lords inside.

Time went by.

Our turn came. I gave 3000 mid-grade mana stones for a one-month stay for the three of us. The guard weighed it before allowing us to enter.

The guards were not stupid. They knew people who could afford this amount of mana stones were people with a background.

We entered the town and started walking on the main road because this same road led towards the other end where the entrance of the forest was.

I glanced at Otto and Patrick. Without me saying anything, they started observing the town.

Halfway down to the other end, the faces of Patrick and Otto both changed.

“What happened?” I asked.

“Master, I found small traces of Supreme Wizards,” Otto said in a solemn tone.

“Yeah, I too found the Supreme Wizards. But they were hiding their strength. Probably came here in disguise,” Patrick added from the side.

My gaze deepened further. What were the Supreme Wizards doing here? Had they come here hiding their identities?

There is nothing in this town. The town was popular because of the forbidden forest.

A sudden realization dawned on me. Maybe the Nocturnal Forest was not what it appeared to be from the outside.

If it had resources, the Mage Union would have found out first. But they had left the place at that time.

Then there was another possibility. The Nocturnal Forest was hiding something else which was equally important.

My heart started racing faster. I had thought about using this place as a temporary living place. I had planned to go back once the situation back at the Magic City was over.

But the situation here was making me change my mind. What if I could find a super relic here? It would be better than a special relic. I could upgrade my talent even further.

It had been some time since my talent was upgraded. If the talent was upgraded to the next stage, then my journey after the Supreme Wizard level would be easy.

Otherwise, I didn’t know how many decades it would take.

Patrick and Otto were still observing the place. Since they knew Supreme Wizards were here, they had to be more alert now.
