Chapter 1649: Calm returned

Chapter 1649: Calm returned

From MC’s Perspective:

Inside the Gregor Mansion, I looked at Young Master Hale lying on the floor. He appeared unconscious. I picked him up and went to the control room.

I dropped him on the floor again and turned towards the control mirror. The outside scene was clear. There was destruction and damaged buildings everywhere.

“The aftermath of their fight must have caused this much devastation,” I said to myself.

I didn’t know who had the upper hand whether it was Lord Erwin or the person behind the Black Tower Wizard, Rowan.

I had thought there would be a fight between me and Rowan, but nothing like that had happened because of Young Master Hale and the Elder behind him.

The real attention had been on them from the beginning. They were the culprits behind the incident. I continued to look at the scene outside.

I had complete trust in Lord Erwin. He is one of the powerful Forbidden Wizards. He can take down the opponent.

Outside

Boom!

Sounds of fighting echoed in the sky one after another. The wizards on the ground looked up. They could see colorful lights illuminating the sky.

However, the booming sound reached the city. The aftermath force was still knocking down buildings.

The locals looked for safe cover to hide. Only the Supreme Wizards and some Magic Lords boldly stayed outside.

The Magic Lords didn’t want to give away the chance to get the outer space item.

If they could get their hands on the item, they would be set for life in some other country. So, they were still waiting for their chance.

At that time, City Lord Dorian and Guardian Marvin were surrounded by another group. They were still searching for the two escaped people.

City Lord Dorian and Guardian Marvin were confused themselves.

They had seen the two of them inside before leaving the room, but then they had disappeared all of a sudden. Consequently, they weren’t able to answer the questions.

“Where is he?”

“It’s impossible for them to escape from under our eyes unless they used some kind of Powerful Artifact,” one of the Magic Lords said.

This small team was fully concentrated on finding the two people.

Time went by.

The fight came to an end one hour later. There was complete silence. The locals were hiding in their basements.

After realizing there was no sound, they wanted to know whether the fight had stopped or not. One after another, people started coming out.

In mid-air, the Forbidden Wizard Erwin was standing a mile away. He was completely unharmed.

However, the person standing a few meters in front of him looked disheveled and tired out.

In order not to affect the surrounding regions, both of them had only used “Rule Power” to clash.

If they had used their magic spells, it would have destroyed the surrounding terrain, and they would have become answerable to the Mage Union.

“Edmund, do you still want to continue?” Erwin asked in a stern tone.

He thought that Edmund was causing unnecessary problems. If they had used magic spells, the surrounding terrain would have been destroyed.

Edmund was in an unrecognizable state. He couldn’t believe Erwin’s strength. He had underestimated him.

His strength was greater than that of veteran Forbidden Wizards.

Erwin’s rule power was able to harm him, and he couldn’t even block it. Edmund was frustrated.

He was unwilling to give up the outer space item. When Rowan revealed the news to him, he was happy. He never expected someone else to take the advantage first.

He glared angrily at Erwin. His heart was filled with unwillingness, but he eventually calmed himself down.

“You won.” After saying that, Edmund left the place.

The whole sky was quiet. No one was going to attack the city again. Erwin smiled. He had been worried that Edmund would fight until the end.

Then, he thought about the city. His expression changed, and he started moving towards it.

Meanwhile,

I appeared outside with Young Master Hale. This time, we were standing in the ruins. Rubble was everywhere. No one had found out our location.

I brought him outside. I didn’t know what had happened to City Lord Dorian and the others, but I could hear loud cheers and celebration.

The locals were coming out now. I swept my gaze across the place. Not only was the City Lord’s building in shambles, but the other high tower buildings were destroyed as well.

This remote city had few good buildings to begin with. Now, they are gone. I couldn’t help but think about the Star Hotel. It must have been hit hard as well.

Just as I was looking around the place.

Swoosh!

Someone appeared before me all of a sudden.

The person was none other than the Forbidden Wizard, Erwin. I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders.

“Vincent, let’s go back,” Erwin said.

“Lord, what about Elder Abel?” I asked him.

“Don’t worry, the Magic Lords still have him,” Erwin said.

“Come with me. I have called for reinforcements. They will take these guys to prison.” After saying that, Erwin turned around and started walking forward.

Seeing that, I started following him from behind while dragging Young Master Hale with me.

We came to an open space where we could see the people clearly. I spotted City Lord Dorian and the others.

They were alive, but their condition was miserable. It appeared that they had been beaten down by wizards.

Suddenly, both of them found my gaze and turned towards me.

“There he is!”

“He got our Young Master.”

Guardian Marvin spoke.

Hearing that, City Lord Dorian raised his head and saw Vincent Carey and the Young Master. His gaze didn’t stop there.

He saw the middle-aged man. Upon seeing him, his pupils shrank. The middle-aged man was none other than the Forbidden Wizard.

The City Lord lowered his head because the fate of the Sutton Family Young Master was sealed. Not even Elder Abel behind him was going to be spared.
