Howard saw that these wizards were fighting against the monsters here. He continued to watch them.

As time passed, they managed to kill those monsters before going deep inside. Then they came across a similar evil dark fog.

Seeing that, Howard decided not to help them. He just wanted to gather information. He would capture the level-10 wizards after their encounter with the dark fog.

The evil dark fog didn’t plan to hide. It immediately dashed toward the intruders. The level-9 wizards were slow to react. The level-10 wizards narrowly escaped coming into contact with the dark fog.

Argh!

A heart-wrenching cry sounded as this dark evil fog started to suck the vitality from the bodies. The level-10 supreme wizards began using their magic spells.

Their magic spell attacks created a phenomenon in the environment. All kinds of elemental attacks landed on the evil dark fog.

Boom!

But the dark fog was not affected. In the blink of an eye, it absorbed the vitality of the level-9 wizards completely.

The dark fog then dashed toward the level-10 wizards to attack. In the next second, bone fragments from the corpses fell to the ground.

Howard’s eyes narrowed. He recalled what Elder Paul Lin had told him. If not for that librarian’s quick report, that kid Vincent Carey would have come here alone.

These unknown evil dark fogs were sucking the vitality from the level-9 wizards just like that. Even the supreme wizards were finding it difficult to fight against it.

If Vincent Carey were here, he would have died easily.

Shaking his head, Howard pushed aside the distracting thoughts. He turned his attention to the ongoing fight.

Not all the supreme wizards were powerful. It depended on their type of magic and their understanding of rule power. Here, the dark evil fog of unknown origin was clearly overwhelming them.

Howard didn’t want them to die. Right now, there were two supreme-level wizards fighting against the dark evil fogs.

If time went on, more and more evil dark fog would appear.

One of the supreme wizards got injured. Seeing that, Howard acted.

He quickly appeared behind him and knocked him out. Before the other one could realize, he slapped his head and made him unconscious.

If he had used too much power, the level-10 wizard would have exploded into pieces.

Just as the dark fogs tried to attack him, he slipped away from the spot. In the blink of an eye, he left the danger zone and took them somewhere safe.

A few minutes later,

Half a mile away from the Pinewood forest, Howard dropped them to the ground. He destroyed their communication watches so that no one could track them to this place.

He then woke them from their unconscious state. The two supreme wizards were confused at first. The next second, a coercion from a magic lord fell on their bodies.

Boom!

Both wizards were pinned to the ground. They wouldn’t be able to use their magic spells under this coercion. But they could hear him.

So Howard started to ask them questions. He wanted to know what these people were doing here.

The two supreme wizards were in disbelief. They looked at each other in shock. They couldn’t believe they were caught by a magic lord. Even if they tried to do something, it would be impossible to escape under the eyes of a magic lord.

So one of them started to spill the beans. When he finished saying that, the other one started explaining as well.

A few minutes later,

He had thought these level-9 wizards were Anderson Family wizards. But they were mercenaries employed by the Anderson Family.

These two in front of him were the Anderson Family’s wizards. One of them had seen him with Tommy Anderson. Right now, the other party couldn’t see his face.

Because the mounting pressure had made them bend.

Howard frowned. There was no better information they could provide. The Anderson Family had been trying for ages but hadn’t made it to the core area. Only magic lords could enter and escape from that place.

The magic artifacts exploded. The explosion caused destruction. It quickly smashed the surroundings, contaminating the place with different mana signatures.

Even wizards with unique magic couldn’t find out anything.

Then he disappeared from the spot and started returning to the True Elements Society.

Meanwhile,

Inside the Anderson Family, Tommy Anderson quickly learned about the wizards’ deaths. He was left speechless. He knew two of their supreme wizards were leading the exploration.

Even if anything happened, at least they would have returned safely. To think supreme wizards had died during the exploration made Tommy Anderson feel that something bad was happening.

This had never happened before. They had sent many mercenaries before; some of them had died there while others had made it alive.

Tommy couldn’t help but think that the team might have entered deeper into the forbidden forest.
