Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1220 Black Locket

From MC’s Perspective:

Shortly afterwards,

The black ore stopped absorbing the gravity mana particles. Seeing that, my heart rose with expectations. Something inside the black ore stopped moving.

Crack! Your next journey awaits at My Virtual Library Empire

A crack started to appear on the black ore. In the blink of an eye, the cracks started to expand. When the cracks covered the entire ore, it broke into pieces.

The next second, something appeared in my palm. I immediately recognised the item.

It’s a black locket. Seeing that, I was a little dazed.

“System, probe the item?” I asked in my heart.

[Ding! Item recognized]

[Magic Locket: Normally used to preserve items]

The mechanical voice sounded in my mind.

Hearing that, I tried to open it, but the black locket wouldn’t budge. Suddenly, a good idea came to mind.

I channeled gravity mana to my fingertips and then touched the black locket. The gravity mana at my fingertips quickly absorbed into the black locket.

Click!

The next second, the locket opened. My gaze immediately fell on a thin cloth. Seeing that, I had an inner urge to touch it. Then I came to my senses and realized it could be dangerous.

So I calmed my emotions and looked at the locket objectively. It must be something precious kept inside the black locket. It could be a family heirloom.

Then I used the system to probe the thin piece of cloth.

[Ding! Item recognized]

[A piece of cloth containing a drawing]

The mechanical voice sounded in my mind.

After getting the confirmation, my eyes gleamed with excitement. I immediately took the piece of cloth and opened it. Then I saw lines drawn in black. It’s certainly a map.

The lines drawn on the cloth showed some location. The places surrounding the main location were drawn in pinewood.

“Was it a pinewood forest?” I asked myself.

I knew some important places in the Ancient Redwood Country, one of them being the pinewood forest, which is close to the Anderson Family Territory as well.

Apart from this marking, there was nothing. This piece of thin cloth only contained this little information. Maybe I can find more information in the library.

I thought the black ore would be some kind of gravity magic treasure, but it turned out to be a small map with information about only one location.

After gaining some clarity, I appeared in the Gregor Mansion. Then I walked up to the Zero Puppet. I placed the mana stone inside the puppet’s core slot.

Buzz!

The Zero Puppet became active.

“Master,” it greeted me the next moment.

Then I showed the map to the Zero Puppet and asked it to record the information. After that was done, I appeared back in the mana chamber.

Then I turned off the chamber and waited for the gravity mana to recede. When everything was gone, I walked out of the mana chamber.

I headed straight towards the 3rd floor of the Department Library. I guessed I wouldn’t find anything if I kept it to myself. I should consult with Elder Paul Lin after checking it.

Shortly afterwards,

I arrived at the library. After entering, I asked the librarian for the book again. After hearing me out, she looked at me with a strange gaze.

“Are you saying that correctly?” she asked.

Hearing that, I felt something was wrong, but I nodded to her.

“There are many places in our country where pine trees grow. But you are asking about the old ruins in the pinewood forest. There is only one place that suits the location.”

“It’s an abandoned ruin in the pinewood forest near the Anderson Family Territory. But that place is forbidden. People who have gone there in the past have never returned,” the librarian said.

My heart set off storms. She sounded like that place was so dangerous that even the Wizard Organization stopped going there.

“Well, I want to look through some books,” I said.

“Then you can find those books in the geographical section,” she replied.

I thanked her before going to the geographical section. After arriving in the area, I began searching for the book on the shelves.

There were records about the Ancient Redwood Country. I picked the oldest book and started turning the pages while standing.

I didn’t have to read the whole book. I just had to confirm that the place I was looking for was the actual location. Not long after, I saw a section in the book where all the forbidden places were marked.

My eyes sparkled. I immediately began studying it. It didn’t take me much time to find the Forbidden Area close to the Anderson Family Territory.

When I saw the drawings, my heartbeat skipped for a moment. The drawings were almost parallel. It appeared like a triangular pinewood forest.

Now, I can draw the conclusion about why the black ore was found in the Anderson Family Territory. Maybe one of their ancestors explored the forbidden ruins inside the pinewood forest next to them.

“Back when I was in the lawless land, Ms. Cory had mentioned a dangerous place that could be a site for ancient gravity mages. It’s because of her words that I came to this country.”

“What more? She was then talking about that place which was right next to her territory,” I said in my heart.

After finding the black ore in her family treasure and the pinewood forest drawn on the thin piece of cloth, it’s certain that the pinewood forest is the one I’m looking for.

Next, I have to figure out the history of the place. So many wizards have died there that the Wizard Organization has given up exploring the place.

Maybe the ruins have certain conditions for entry? If it was a site for gravity wizards, then there is a chance for me to enter the ruins.

I have explored dangerous zones in the past while traveling to the lawless land. But this time the ruins pose a greater level of threat. I don’t know whether Elder Paul Lin would allow me to go or not.
