Drax coldly withdrew his dagger, looking at the crowd with a face full of indifference, "What are you all spacing out for? Come and kill me."

Adam frowned, he didn’t see any panic in this person, the man was extremely calm, as if he frequently participated in this kind of thing, furthermore, deep in his eyes, there was a profoundly hidden pain.

Drax brandished his dagger, "Let me tell you, if you don’t make a move, you really will die, I’ve been through this many times."

"Also, drop the hypocrisy, to be able to end up here, not a single one of you is clean."

As soon as Drax said this, everyone’s expressions changed, Adam narrowed his eyes, what was going on here? Had this person lived here for a long time? What did not clean mean? This guy seemed to know a great deal of useful intelligence.

Drax gripped his dagger tightly and charged forward again, he had to make it out of here alive.

...

Two months ago, in a certain small world, on a small island.

Dense jungle and rugged rocks formed this isolated, desperate environment, sunlight occasionally pierced the thick canopy, casting mottled shadows on this land shrouded by the shadow of death.

Drax, a former wealthy young master, was now dressed in rags, his eyes were filled with fear of the unknown and nostalgia for his past glory, he huddled in a hidden corner barely cobbled together from dead branches and fallen leaves, every heartbeat accompanied by a tremble toward the unknown, in front of him lay an unconscious man, his face covered in blood and dirt, looking exceptionally helpless.

Drax’s gaze lingered on this body, his inner struggle was like a candle flickering in a gale, teetering on the verge of collapse, he tightly gripped the dagger in his hand, its icy metallic touch making him shudder, every time he wanted to raise the dagger, the conscience and kindness deep in his heart bound him tightly, unable to strike.

"Brother, I’m scared," this voice pierced through Drax’s thoughts like a needle, it was his only relative, Sylra, an eight-year-old girl who had also been dragged into this cruel survival game, she pressed tightly against Drax’s back, her small hands gripping a dagger that was far too heavy for her, her little face written with fear and helplessness.

"It’s okay, Sylra," Drax tried hard to make his voice sound firmer, even though his own heart was equally filled with fear, "We’ll leave this place and find somewhere safer to hide, as long as we don’t give up, there will always be a way," he gently stroked Sylra’s head, trying to comfort her and seeking a sliver of strength for himself.

However, every leaf and every stone on the island seemed to narrate the hardship and cruelty of survival, Drax knew escaping wasn’t a long-term solution, but facing this bloody reality, what else could they do?

As night fell, the slaughter on the island quietly commenced, relatives, lovers, friends, all emotional bonds became incredibly fragile, replaced by an extreme thirst for survival and a deep fear of death.

Drax’s father had become a victim in the very first wave of chaos, his mother, in order to protect them both, was also quickly killed, their deaths left his heart intertwined with raging fire and grief, he wanted to fight to the death, but he still had his younger sister to protect, he could only take Sylra and constantly hide around the island, struggling to survive until now.

"Let’s go," Drax held his sister’s hand and quickly left the area.

The siblings hid on the island for several more days, every day felt like walking on the edge of a blade, acting with extreme caution, terrified that even the slightest noise would draw fatal disaster, they made simple traps to warn off threats, while avoiding densely populated areas and seeking hidden corners as hiding spots.

However, fate didn’t seem to intend on letting this tragic pair off easily, one evening, just as the afterglow of the setting sun was about to be swallowed by darkness, hurried footsteps shattered the surrounding tranquility.

Drax immediately went on high alert, he tightly grabbed Sylra’s hand, ready for danger at any moment, but their hiding spot was discovered.

"Over there, chase them!" Several figures rapidly closed in, Drax’s heart leaped to his throat, he looked around and realized there was no way out, he took a deep breath, shielding Sylra behind him, using his body to build a line of defense.

"Sylra, don’t be afraid, I will protect you," Drax gripped his own dagger tightly.

But right at that moment, the ground beneath their feet suddenly gave way, caught off guard, the siblings fell together into the rushing river beside them, the freezing water instantly submerged them, washing their hands apart.

Drax tried desperately to grab Sylra, but the current was too strong, he could only watch helplessly as his sister was swept far away.

"Sylra! Sylra!" Drax shouted in the water, but only the splashing of the river answered, he swam toward shore with all his might, possessing only one thought, find Sylra, protect her.

When Drax finally struggled ashore, completely drenched and utterly exhausted, he immediately began searching along the riverbank, the night was deep, and the river under the moonlight looked even more gloomy and terrifying, but he didn’t give up, searching step by step.

An entire night passed, and he found absolutely nothing, his heart was filled with despair.

Another day passed, Drax had practically turned the entire river upside down, still, no trace of his sister.

This made him very uneasy, but finding no trace indirectly meant she might still be alive, if she wasn’t by the river, there were only two possibilities.

One, she was discovered by someone and taken away.

Two, she had entered the forest to look for him.

Regardless of which possibility it was, he had to enter the forest to search, Drax stood by the riverbank, looking at the vast jungle, an unprecedented firmness surging in his heart, no matter what awaited him ahead, he had to face it, to find Sylra, this bond between siblings was stronger than any fear and hardship.

He took a deep breath and stepped into that jungle full of the unknown and danger, sunlight could barely pierce the dense canopy, leaving only patches of mottled light and shadow, adding a touch of eeriness to this gloomy environment.

Drax carefully examined the tracks in the forest, navigating cautiously through the trees, every step felt exceptionally heavy.
