God-Tier Comprehension System
Chapter 525
Although these buildings seemed haphazardly piled together, Adam could faintly sense a certain underlying law and order within them, as if it were a manifestation of the Evil God’s power, he had a feeling that if he hadn’t altered his aura, these cities would absolutely never have let him enter.
Adam’s brow furrowed tightly, he realized he had already approached the core region of the Evil God’s world, the evil intent here was even denser, almost condensing into a tangible substance, his exposed skin stung faintly, yet he didn’t retreat, his conviction grew firmer.
Just then, the low, drawn-out sound of a horn suddenly echoed between heaven and earth, the sound seemed to pierce through the boundaries of time and space, striking directly into the depths of Adam’s soul, he jerked his head up and looked into the distance, a dazzling pillar of black light tore through the chaos, standing erect between heaven and earth.
What is that? A sharp glint flashed in Adam’s eyes, although he didn’t know what it was for, something major had definitely happened.
Adam quickly blended in among bizarre evil creatures heading into the city, the management here was extremely lax, although there was a city-like structure similar to human settlements, there were no soldiers standing guard, weaving through those instinct-driven, mindless creatures, Adam silently approached the city constructed of dark matter.
The city’s outline gradually became clear in the chaos, like the gaping maw of a giant beast, devouring all light and hope in its surroundings.
The city gates were formed of twisted shadows, no concrete shape, yet they seemed capable of sensing any lifeform that drew near, Adam could feel a trace of an icy gaze scrutinizing him, so they do have inspection methods after all.
But relying on his superb disguise techniques and the pre-prepared aura formation disc, he successfully blended into the torrent of evil creatures entering the city without being detected.
Upon stepping inside, an even stronger aura of pure evil rushed at his face, almost making him suffocate, flanking the streets were all sorts of Evil God creatures, some walked, some floated, their forms varied immensely, some resembled burning flames, others looked like solidified shadows, they didn’t seem to communicate, merely following some ancient rule as they moved within their territories.
They also weren’t affected by the pillar of light standing between heaven and earth, Adam knew these were the lowest-tier evil entities.
The interior of the buildings was equally dim and oppressive, light could barely penetrate the dense dark matter, Adam navigated through them carefully, avoiding unnecessary conflict.
He noticed that while the buildings appeared chaotic, they actually contained hidden profoundness, each building acted like a node for the Evil God’s power, interconnecting to maintain the city’s operation, even more terrifying, through breaches in some buildings, he saw crimson flesh and blood inside, without exception, so this city is built out of horrifying flesh and blood? Then why disguise it to look like a human city? Adam was puzzled.
Occasionally, more powerful Evil God creatures could be seen on the streets, they seemed to possess a certain degree of intelligence, letting out low whimpers and murmurs, directing the lower-tier entities to perform rituals or labor.
Adam grew secretly vigilant, I won’t get picked, will I? His current appearance was that of a low-tier evil entity.
Suddenly, a pulling force descended upon him, Adam raised an eyebrow, I can’t be this unlucky, can I? He subconsciously wanted to resist, but held himself back, all the low-tier evil entities in his vicinity had been chosen.
A wolf-like creature with only half a head approached them, it let out a muffled sound, then led their group away, Adam didn’t understand the language, but it didn’t matter, he didn’t believe these mindless low-tier entities could understand it either.
Still, he secretly drew a small formation on his palm, one that could directly decipher any language.
Soon, they were led into a room, the moment he entered, Adam’s breathing hitched, the room was entirely filled with humans, about twenty of them, shivering as they huddled in the corners.
Adam frowned, what are they trying to do? The Evil God actually captured humans and brought them here, the overwhelming evil qi of the city had masked the human scent, preventing him from noticing them immediately.
The air was so heavy it practically solidified, fear and despair were written on everyone’s faces, Adam calculated inwardly, he had to stay calm and look for a chance to help these people escape.
Just then, a thin, haggard man in a corner suddenly broke down crying, "Why is this happening? Can we still make it out alive?"
His voice echoed in the silent room, striking everyone’s sensitive nerves.
Immediately after, a cold voice rang out, the wolf-like creature with half a head stood at the door and spoke with its muffled voice, "The weak are only fit to be stepping stones for the strong, here, you have only one choice, kill each other until only the last person remains, the survivor will live, return to their original world, and receive a massive amount of wealth, that is your only chance for survival."
After speaking, it handed every single person a dagger.
The people in the room clutched the daggers, trembling uncontrollably, making them slaughter each other... How could this be possible? Many of them were family, but there were also those whose eyes revealed a cruel light.
"You two, stay here and supervise, if they don’t make a move, you kill one of them," Adam and another low-tier evil entity were singled out and ordered to remain in the room.
Then the wolf-like creature left, taking the rest of the group with it, this made Adam’s heart sink further, because it meant there were many other rooms just like this one throughout the city.
Damn it, Adam frowned, he still had to investigate the pillar of light, he couldn’t afford to waste time here, but what about these people? The evil entity beside him was mindless, he could kill it and leave, by changing his aura again, no one would find him, but these people... could he really leave them to slaughter each other?
How could he take them away? A careless move might expose his identity, and his entire plan would fail, Adam’s mind raced, trying to find a solution that could achieve both.
"Ah!" But in the next second, a miserable scream rang out, a person’s stomach had been sliced open by someone else, blood instantly spilled all over the floor.
