  1. Mental World

"You're right about that, but for now, let's just count it as good luck."

Little Ye replied with complete calm.

"What's the use of this?"

Lin Ye placed the black flower on the table, changing the subject.

"If you don't want to delve deep into the mental world, you can put it on the windowsill of the Shelter and treat it as a flower that will never wither. But if you want to deeply connect with the mental world... you can fuse it with your Seed of Spirit."

Little Ye paused for a moment before revealing the flower's purpose.

"What does fusing do? Does that mean I won't need to go looking for a stable mental world anymore?"

This was different from what Lin Ye had learned before.

"It's a medium. Once you fuse the Seed of Spirit with the flower, your Consciousness can absorb nourishment from all mental worlds connected to this flower. At the same time, this flower can rely on your Consciousness to grow, until it reaches the deepest part of the mental world.

And that's precisely where the danger lies. The mental world is far more dangerous than you imagine. Once you merge your Seed of Spirit into it, your consciousness will inevitably reach the deepest depths of the mental world. No one can stop that outcome."

That was why Little Ye didn't really recommend Lin Ye use this black flower.

"Will it affect you?"

Lin Ye looked at the flower on the table. This wasn't a simple choice. He had options, but for him, there was really only one.

"It'll affect me a little, but that's not a problem. I'll need to go deep into the mental world sooner or later anyway."

Little Ye picked up the flower from the table and tucked it into Lin Ye's hair.

She already knew which choice he would make.

"That's all it takes?"

Lin Ye touched the black flower on his head. The feeling was a bit strange.

"It's a bit dangerous to fuse here. The fusion will only begin once you're back at the Shelter."

Little Ye set the fusion time.

"By the way, take a look at these mental constructs for me."

Lin Ye placed the items the man and Medal had given him on the table.

He didn't know much about mental constructs. Things like this were better left to a professional.

"The hand mirror and the runes have serious problems. That Rule Fragment, on the other hand, is fine."

Little Ye only gave them a brief glance before tossing the Rule Fragment back to Lin Ye.

"Just as I expected, those two weren't good people... How do I get back? The cruise ship should have left by now."

Lin Ye glanced at the nearby clock. He had missed the boarding time.

"No problem. Give me the Boat Ticket."

Little Ye took the ticket and returned it to Lin Ye almost immediately.

Lin Ye looked at it. The time on the Boat Ticket had changed.

"Come on, I'll get you on the ship."

Little Ye grabbed Lin Ye's right hand, and the two crossed half the city in an instant, moving to the edge of the Port.

A few minutes later, the cruise ship entered the Port. Lin Ye boarded it and returned to the Shelter without any trouble.

【Please draw Today's Card】

"My turn! Draw a card!"

The card this time was a conch. The card depicted a red conch with intricate patterns. As the card dissolved, a conch appeared in the center of the Shelter.

Lin Ye loved eating conch, especially the bigger ones, because they were less troublesome to eat than other seafood.

The beautiful shell showed no signs of its contents, and Lin Ye couldn't sense what was inside either.

He slipped a finger inside and touched something soft.

Since whatever it was didn't intend to come out, Lin Ye didn't intend to pry either. He placed the conch on the table and took out that Rule Fragment.

【Conversion Rule Fragment】

【This is an artificial Rule Fragment, containing a special conversion rule】

【Note: For the vast majority of living beings, this Rule Fragment is completely meaningless】

'Hm? Conversion?'

Lin Ye held the Rule Fragment and sensed a familiar aura from it.

'Could this be a Rule Fragment specifically meant for converting Deep Well Substance?'

This Rule Fragment most likely originated from the cult. Aro's rule ability might not have been resurrection at all, but rather the conversion of Deep Well Substance into other materials.

'Does that mean I can use it too?'

Lin Ye absorbed the conversion Rule Fragment. A flood of incomprehensible knowledge rushed into his mind. It wasn't that he wanted to convert and utilize Deep Well Substance, but rather that he wanted a channel to study it.

Unfortunately, in his abnormal state, he couldn't perceive the Deep Well Substance inside his body at all, so he couldn't use the power of the conversion Rule Fragment.

After dealing with the Rule Fragment, Lin Ye took out the Boat Ticket and glanced at it. It had turned completely black.

【Boat Ticket】

【A pass for consciousness to enter the mental world. Upon use, randomly enters a relatively stable mental world】

【Note: The ticket changes color after each use. Black represents an area where absolutely no information can be obtained. This may be a one-way ticket】

'...Well, alright.'

Lin Ye put away the black Boat Ticket. He probably wouldn't be using it again anytime soon.

After sorting through the loot, Lin Ye was just about to prepare dinner when a violent wave of dizziness hit him.

Before he could even react, he collapsed onto the bed in the Shelter, completely losing consciousness.

..........................................

Lin Ye had a very long dream, so long that he almost forgot who he was.

It was an incredibly chaotic dream, as if many bizarre and surreal dreams had been stitched together.

At the very end of the dream, he saw a figure appear before him, spraying a faceful of saliva at him.

Lin Ye slowly opened his eyes. The Scapegoat was lying beside him, licking his cheek with its tongue.

"...Next time, please find another way to wake me up."

Lin Ye checked the time. It was already ten in the morning.

"Baa baa."

The Scapegoat nudged Lin Ye with its head.

Lin Ye patted the Scapegoat's head and swept his gaze across the entire Shelter. Something seemed... different.

'No, the Shelter hasn't changed. It's my senses that have changed.'

The Seed of Spirit had fused with the black flower. His total mental capacity had multiplied several times over, and the very essence of his mind seemed to have undergone some kind of transformation.

This change was still in progress. He had no idea how much longer it would last.

Lin Ye held the Scapegoat, staring at this somewhat unfamiliar world. It took him over ten minutes just to initially adapt to the change.

'The Seed of Spirit has only just begun its fusion with the black flower. It looks like I'll need to advance to a higher rank as soon as possible.'

Lin Ye wasn't in a rush to advance. For him, advancement wasn't difficult at all. He could use this time to adapt to the changes in his mind instead.

"I'll advance in the afternoon. I still need to complete the simulation mission this morning."

Lin Ye climbed out of bed. He first went to the Rule Mining Area to mine for an hour, then took care of the plants and animals for a while. After finishing a simple breakfast, he lay down on the bed and began his daily simulation.
