Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress
Chapter 348 - 178: Alliance Reinforcements (3)
A Ghost descended, and King Borhan appeared. He bowed to Li Ziyu. "Master of the Undead, you seem to be in a tough fight."
"Yes, the situation isn’t looking good." Li Ziyu nodded and sighed. ’Who could have guessed they were hiding so many troops?’
"Master of the Undead, did you summon me to give an order?" King Borhan knew Li Ziyu wouldn’t have summoned him for no reason. He’d just been enjoying the thrilling view of the battle from above.
"I need your Ghosts to join the battle as well," Li Ziyu said frankly. If he had any other choice, he wouldn’t have asked the Ghosts to fight. But the situation was too desperate; he had to mobilize every force at his disposal.
It simply wouldn’t do to have millions of Ghosts floating in the sky, just watching the show.
Ghosts possessed no Physical Attack power and couldn’t kill the enemy directly. However, their Death Qi could cause considerable trouble for their opponents. ’Even just interfering with them for a moment would be a huge help.’
The Alliance Army of the three Races was primarily composed of physical Warriors and didn’t have many Mage units. The damage they could inflict on the Ghosts was limited, which was precisely why Li Ziyu was asking for their help.
"Understood, Master of the Undead. There’s no need for such formality. We will lend our aid." King Borhan didn’t feign reluctance or try to refuse. Watching the battle was certainly entertaining, but Li Ziyu was their benefactor. If Li Ziyu hadn’t brought out the Soul Coffin, they would still be trapped in the Wraith Mountain Range.
All the Ghosts carried this debt in their hearts. Besides, Ghosts and Skeleton Undead were practically the same Race; it was impossible for them to simply stand by and do nothing.
’What good would it do us if the enemy eliminated Li Ziyu? If something happened to the Soul Coffin afterward, where would we go for shelter? Back to the Wraith Mountain Range?’
’For us, the Wraith Mountain Range was a prison we could never escape. After being locked up for thousands of years, we don’t want to go back.’
"King Borhan, thank you for your understanding," Li Ziyu said gratefully.
’As the saying goes, true friends are revealed in times of hardship.’ The Ghosts’ willingness to act at this moment was absolutely crucial.
King Borhan returned the bow, then flew back into the sky to confer with the Ghosts above.
Upon hearing that the Master of the Undead was asking for aid, the Ghosts instantly grew excited. Many among them had been itching to join the fray, but they couldn’t act without an order. Now that he was requesting their help, what was there to hesitate about?
Terrifying shrieks erupted, spreading across the entire battlefield. It was the sound of the excited Ghosts unleashing their Soul Roar. This Skill was practically an instinct for the Undead; every last one of them knew how to use it.
The Soul Roar unleashed by the Ghosts had an enormous area of effect that covered the entire battlefield, though this diluted its power considerably. Even so, many Alliance Soldiers were affected, their movements growing sloppy. The Skeleton Undead, however, were completely unharmed. In that single moment of distraction, many Skeleton Undead were saved, while many Alliance Soldiers fell.
This wasn’t a duel between martial arts masters, with elegant, back-and-forth exchanges that could last three hundred rounds. This was a battlefield where victory and defeat were decided in an instant. Even a momentary lapse in concentration would cost you your life.
After the Soul Roar, the Ghosts moved as one. Streaks of green light dove from the sky like a shower of falling blossoms.
Two hundred thousand Alliance reinforcements entered the battlefield, as millions of Ghosts descended from the heavens!
The battle once again reached a fever pitch.
The Ghosts couldn’t directly harm the Alliance Soldiers, but they could catch them off guard, sending a bone-deep chill through their bodies. This endlessly frustrated the Alliance Soldiers, but there was nothing they could do about it—Physical Attacks couldn’t hurt these creatures.
Their swords would slash right through the Ghosts’ bodies, having no effect whatsoever.
Only Magic Users could harm the Ghosts, but there were simply too many of them, swarming and zipping back and forth across the battlefield.
