Global Lords: My Territory Heart Is a World Tree
Chapter 425 - 26: Small-scale Natural Disaster
Chapter 425: Chapter 26: Small-scale Natural Disaster
In the livestream footage, the powerful arrows shot by the Elf Longbowmen mostly struck an invisible barrier before they could even reach the Slime Monsters, falling harmlessly to the ground.
The few arrows that did manage to hit a Slime Monster had no effect. The projectiles would slowly sink into the creature’s body as if being consumed for food.
If they were struck by powerful, skill-enhanced arrows, the Slime Monsters would immediately split in two.
It appeared as though the Slime Monsters were absorbing the energy from the skill-based attacks to fuel their division.
Of course, the Slime Monsters hadn’t gained a new skill. This was all Lin Yu’s idea.
When the Slimes had occupied the Farm Territory, Lin Yu’s consciousness had been present on the scene. He had witnessed the looks of terror on Keze and the others as they faced the splitting Slimes.
So, he had the Slimes deliberately put on an act, making them split whenever they were attacked. It was purely for show.
Sure enough, the performance completely intimidated Deen’s men.
After several attempts, upon discovering that the Slime Monsters would split the very instant they were struck by a skill-based attack, the Elf Longbowmen no longer dared to use their special abilities.
After witnessing the Slimes’ performance, Deen himself chose to give up.
He ordered his subordinates to do their best to defend against the Slime Monsters’ assault while he started a livestream. He planned to rack up as many points as possible before being eliminated, so his advancement to the third phase wouldn’t be a total waste.
Once the Slimes reached the base of the city wall, they held nothing back. They chose not to reveal their ability to fly, instead directly using their Telekinesis to form the shape of giant hands.
These Telekinesis Hands launched a sweeping attack directly at the city wall.
The attack wasn’t highly lethal; it merely cleared the ramparts. All the Titan Race soldiers on the walls were swept to the ground below.
Because Deen possessed ranged units in the form of Elf Longbowmen, his city walls were also equipped with a ranged defense mechanism: the Gravity Distortion Generator.
However, against the massive Telekinesis Hands, the Gravity Distortion Generators had very little effect.
This was because Telekinesis was fundamentally different from ranged attacks like arrows, which relied on inertia after being fired.
The Telekinesis was under the Slimes’ control the entire time.
When the Telekinesis Hands encountered the Gravity Distortion Generators, the Slimes controlling them merely felt some resistance. It was like someone was trying to arm-wrestle them, attempting to wrench the hands in another direction. All they had to do was slightly increase their Telekinesis output, and the Telekinesis Hands would continue to press forward.
The most significant effect of the Gravity Distortion Generators was simply to increase the Slimes’ energy consumption slightly.
With the Titan Race soldiers no longer a distraction, the Slimes at the base of the wall focused their attention on the wall itself.
The Telekinesis Hands clenched into fists and began hammering the wall, punch after punch.
Under the assault of the Telekinesis Fists, the city wall trembled continuously.
A colossal booming sound echoed through the sky as cracks rapidly appeared on the city wall, visible to the naked eye. The walls, constructed from heavy stone, simply couldn’t withstand the impact of the Telekinesis Fists.
Before long, several sections of the wall had collapsed.
The Slimes ceased their assault on the wall and swarmed into the city through the breaches.
With the large target of the wall gone, the Telekinesis Hands broke apart, reforming into a swarm of Telekinesis Longswords.
The longswords shot out at incredible speed, stabbing toward the enemies who had previously attacked them.
Deen’s men, along with the Elf Longbowmen, all perished beneath the blades of the Telekinesis Longswords.
The only exception was Deen. He had only been giving commands at the beginning and was later preoccupied with livestreaming for points, so he had never attacked the Slimes.
Adhering to the principle that ’an enemy who has not attacked me is an enemy who wishes to surrender and can be spared,’ the Slimes did not run him through with a Telekinesis Longsword.
"Folks, it looks like I get to livestream a little longer!"
"These Slime Monsters didn’t kill me. I’m not sure why."
"But hey, at least this proves that if you can’t beat them, you can escape! You don’t have to worry about getting cornered!"
Deen concluded.
"Everyone, send in your donations! If the donations hit one hundred thousand points, I’ll risk my life and go see what these Slime Monsters are up to."
Deen’s points shot up. In just a moment, the donated points surpassed one hundred thousand and were still climbing.
"Hahaha, you guys are awesome! Alright, let’s do this!"
Deen wasn’t greedy. He felt he had more than enough points. Even if he were eliminated right now and sent back to his home planet, he’d have sufficient capital to elevate his own status and that of his family.
Deen walked cautiously through the swarm of Slimes, stopping intermittently. He watched as the soldiers of his territory were slaughtered without any hope of resistance, while the number of Slime Monsters only continued to grow.
He felt a sense of helplessness, but also a sliver of relief that the Slime Monsters hadn’t attacked him. ’Otherwise,’ he thought, ’my corpse would probably be digesting in one of their bellies right now.’
[Titan Race Chat Channel]
Qiaolin: "You bastard, @Deen! Who said these Slime Monsters don’t attack lords?"
Qiaolin: "I fucking listened to you! I thought the Slime Monsters wouldn’t attack me, but the second I showed myself, they jumped me!"
Qiaolin: "AHHH—"
Qiaolin: "HSSSSS~~~ It hurts so much!!!"
Qiaolin: "*Sob*... They’re turning me into a meatball..."
Qiaolin: "It hurts so much..."
...
In the chat channel, Qiaolin, who had been one of the first to be attacked by the Slime Monsters, suddenly started typing. Judging from his messages, it was as if he was being turned into a meatball, and it sounded incredibly painful.
Qiaolin’s initial messages were filled with resentment, but soon they devolved into nothing but agonized groans.
