Global Lords: My Territory Heart Is a World Tree
Chapter 424 - 25: Slime Sea (2)
Chapter 424: Chapter 25: Slime Sea (2)
A few more days passed. The Slimes in Farm Territory upgraded to level two one after another. They left a single level-one Slime behind in Farm Territory, then merged and began crawling in a vast horde toward the surrounding territories.
Other Slimes formed groups of a hundred and crawled toward the depths of the Titan Continent.
...
Silver Fox Territory was located north of Farm Territory, with three other territories lying between them.
Silver Fox Territory was named for the silver foxes native to its forests. Its lord was named Ronnie.
One day, as Ronnie was busy handling the territory’s affairs, one of his soldiers rushed in with a report.
"My Lord, we’ve discovered an invasive species! The silver foxes are spooked and have begun to migrate away."
"What? Then why are you here? Hurry up and drive them out!"
The silver fox was an Extraordinary Animal whose extraordinary ability was mimetic transformation. After being tamed, it could change into a weapon to help its master in battle.
The soldiers and heroes of Silver Fox Territory each had a silver fox to aid them in battle, forming a crucial part of the territory’s fighting force.
However, in the wild, the silver fox itself was not a very powerful Extraordinary Creature. It had numerous natural enemies and a naturally cautious, timid disposition, making it easily frightened. Its mimicry was more often used as camouflage for escape.
Only with proper combat training could they fight fearlessly alongside the Titan Clan People against powerful foes.
Since silver foxes had extremely low fertility rates in captivity, most remained wild, save for those handpicked and tamed as battle companions. The people of the territory rarely disturbed the wild population.
’Now some invasive species has actually scared the silver foxes away? Unacceptable!’
"But... My Lord, they’re a bit different!"
"How are they different? How many times have I said it? The silver foxes are a strategic resource! We must protect them!"
"The invasive species... they seem to be the same kind as your ’Fatty’."
"’Fatty’? Slime Monsters?"
Ronnie had previously ordered a Slime Monster from Keze. When Keze tried to back out of the deal, Ronnie had firmly insisted on receiving the Slime Monster instead of a refund of points. In the end, Keze had delivered it.
After getting the Slime Monster, Ronnie grew very fond of it, naming it "Fatty."
Knowing that Slime Monsters became exceptionally powerful later on, Ronnie had been lavishing "Fatty" with the best of everything.
Those close to him all knew that Ronnie had great expectations for the Slime Monster.
Therefore, although the invasive species had scared off the silver foxes, no one dared to act rashly and drive them away, seeing as they were Slime Monsters. They had investigated the situation before hurrying back to report.
’Slime Monsters, of all things...’
’Perfect. I was thinking of raising one first to see how it goes. Now that they’ve come to my territory, I’ll just capture and tame them all.’
"Let’s go. We’re going to catch some Slime Monsters."
Silver Fox Territory’s unique trait was an enhanced ability to tame wild animals, so Ronnie was supremely confident he could domesticate the Slime Monsters.
A little over ten minutes later, Ronnie and his men arrived at the forest where the Slime Monsters had appeared.
He was very familiar with this forest in the southern part of his territory. It was an important hunting ground—the perfect place to go whenever he grew tired of farmed meat.
He would come here to hunt and eat some wild game.
As such, the forest served as the territory’s food reserve.
But now, the numerous wild animals in the forest had almost completely vanished, replaced by an extremely large number of Slime Monsters.
As these Slime Monsters crawled slowly across the ground, they left a spotless path in their wake, having consumed all the dust and debris.
Occasionally, they spotted a wild animal that hadn’t fled. Angered by the invasion of its territory, it would launch an attack on the Slime Monsters.
But the Slime Monsters paid the attacks no mind. In fact, after being struck a few times, one might even split into a new Slime Monster, scaring the animal into fleeing.
For the more stubborn animals that persisted in their attacks, the Slime Monsters would gently roll them into little balls and devour them.
The few animals that didn’t attack the Slime Monsters were left unharmed.
For instance, there was a slow-crawling Iron Spike Turtle. As the Slime Monsters crawled over its body, they didn’t consume it. Instead, the spikes on its back scraped off quite a bit of their "jelly," which the Iron Spike Turtle then ate.
Even so, the Slime Monsters did not attack the Iron Spike Turtle. In contrast, other, stronger animals were being turned into meatballs for actively attacking them.
’Truly incredible!’
’But why are there so many Slime Monsters here?’
Ronnie had assumed only a few Slime Monsters had wandered into his territory; he never expected them to completely take over his food pantry.
’And that kid Keze had the nerve to say Slime Monsters were a specialty of his territory?’
’Then why are there so many here? Damn it, that liar! And he charged me Ten Thousand Points for one!!’
Due to the sheer number of Slimes, Ronnie didn’t dare send his men to capture them directly.
Mainly, he didn’t know if capturing the Slime Monsters would be considered an attack in their eyes.
Fearing his men would also end up as food for the Slime Monsters, he stationed them at the perimeter to watch and only capture any that strayed from the main group.
Of course, he had no idea that the Slimes had relayed a message to the one inside his city, learned of his plans, and were now having an internal discussion.
’This lord is so strange. He’s not attacking, just wants to capture us and provide us with food and drink...’
’Guess we don’t have to siege the city this time! We can just occupy his territory directly!’
’Is this another Keze?’
"It’d be great if there were more lords like this!"
However, not long after the capture operation began, Ronnie ordered his men to stop capturing the Slime Monsters.

Qiaolin: "Help! The Slime Monsters are attacking my city!"
Qiaolin: "So, so many Slime Monsters!"
Rick: "Keze, I saw these Slime Monsters coming from your place. Are you controlling them?"
Deen: "Damn it, no wonder the animals in my territory are going crazy today. So it was you, Keze! Where did you get so many Slime Monsters?"
Deen: "A lot of Slime Monsters have shown up in my territory too!"
Keze: "It’s really not me! My city is also surrounded by these Slime Monsters."
Keze: "My territory is completely full of Slime Monsters now. I’m stuck in my city and can’t get out."
Keze: "You know why I stopped selling Slime Monsters? Because there are too many of them! Way too many!"
Keze was telling the truth. He was mainly responsible for preparing food for the Slimes, a task that kept him so busy within the city walls that he had no time to venture outside.
Qiaolin: "I don’t care who sent them, someone come save me! These Slime Monsters are so strong! My soldiers are no match for them!"
Rick: "Send your heroes!"
Qiaolin: "I did! They’re all dead!"
Deen: "This is bad, the Slime Monsters have surrounded my city!"
Deen: "They’re attacking the city!!!"
Deen: "They’re so damn strong. Screw it, I can’t beat them. I’m gonna start a livestream for you guys!"
Deen: "It’s pay-per-view, haha! I don’t think I’ll be able to stream for long, so watch while you can."
Many lords, especially those around Keze, paid to enter the livestream. Ronnie entered as well.
The livestream was a sea of Slime Monsters. The screen was filled with them, stretching from the distant horizon right up to the base of the city walls.
On the city walls stood many Titan Race melee troops and some long-eared Archers. Judging by their equipment, they weren’t native Titan Race soldiers; Deen must have recruited them from other races.
"Are those long-eared ones your trump card?" a comment flew across the screen.
Deen knew this wave would likely mean getting sent back to his home planet, so he was forthright. "Yeah, they’re called Elf Longbowmen. Even in a high-gravity environment like this one, they can pull off powerful archery techniques."
"Too bad it doesn’t seem to be doing much."
