Chapter 423: Chapter 25: Slime Sea

[Titan Race Chat Channel]

...: "@Keze, didn’t you say you were going to sell Slime Monsters? Why’d you pop up for a bit and then just go silent?"

...: "He must’ve taken the money and run. I already paid a deposit, but he said something came up and he’d talk later, then I never heard from him again!"

...: "He didn’t even tell me anything, just ghosted me."

...

After many days, the Titan Race chat channel was once again buzzing with heated discussion about Keze and the Slime Monsters he had mentioned.

Previously, Keze had wanted to start a plan to sell Slime Monsters as pets and had shared a lot of information about Slimes.

Although not many people responded, some lords grew fond of Slimes thanks to this information.

After all, there weren’t any soft, squishy creatures on the entire Titan Continent!

Although the points store sold items for high-gravity environments, they were limited to things that were useful for one’s territory, like weapons.

Some of these lords had even placed deposits with Keze.

But then, Keze was faced with a Slime siege and stopped paying attention to the customers who had paid deposits.

After surrendering, he was in no mood to check the chat channel.

After being reappointed as a lord, he became absorbed in the joy of raising Slimes and didn’t even think to check the chat group.

This led everyone to see him as a scammer out to cheat them of their points, sparking their collective outrage.

...

In the Farm Territory, after several days of feeding the Slimes, Keze had come to fully understand their skills.

At first, he had been unconvinced, believing that if they had fought head-on with real weapons, he would have suffered a narrow defeat at worst, nothing like his current complete rout.

Now, he was just glad he hadn’t actually fought these Slimes; otherwise, they really would have turned him into mincemeat.

When he first surrendered to Lin Yu, he had planned to just raise Slimes for this phase and act as a spy on the side. He figured that once this stage was over, he would return to the Titan homeworld and never come back. ’That way, it doesn’t count as defecting to the enemy,’ he had told himself, ’it’s just infiltrating their camp to gather intelligence.’

Moreover, before being appointed as a sub-lord, he had entered the main territory once under the guidance of a Legendary Hero—Manqiluo.

Although he didn’t know the main territory’s true combat strength, just seeing the sheer size of the land, the massive complexes of buildings with unknown purposes, and the countless plant-people (he assumed the defensive plants were all Manqiluo’s kin) and Slimes was enough to tell him that Lin Yu’s power was unfathomable.

So now, he was truly convinced and genuinely wanted to pledge his allegiance to Lin Yu.

He was ready to be a proper Slime farmer and contribute to this powerful territory.

To ensure the Slimes in the Farm Territory could level up as quickly as possible, all of them were kept at Level 1, with the exception of the Level 50 Slimes assigned to guard duty. This allowed the number of Slimes within the Farm Territory to reach an absolutely staggering figure.

And so, a few days later, the Farm Territory was completely saturated with Slimes.

Keze, who had been busy for days, finally got a chance to rest, as no new Slimes were scheduled to arrive today.

’What to do when you’re bored? Obvious—go shoot the breeze in the chat room!’

But the moment he checked the chat group, Keze discovered that he, the "missing person," had been upgraded to "scammer."

’Ah, my lifelong reputation!’

’But the Slime Monsters are just Slimes now, and they were sent by the main territory to attack other territories. There’s no way I can sell them anymore!’

Keze thought helplessly.

[Titan Race Chat Channel]

Keze: "Sorry, everyone. I’ve been a bit busy these past few days and haven’t had a chance to check the chat channel."

Keze: "About selling Slime Monsters as pets—something unexpected came up, so the plan is off!"

Keze: "To all the lords who placed an order with me, please send me a private message. I’ll transfer the points back to you."

...

Keze was someone who cared about his reputation. Even though he was no longer in the same faction as most of the Titan Race lords, he didn’t want to be known as a scammer. To him, that would be a denial of his character.

Surrendering to Lord Lin Yu was a matter of skill—he had simply been outmatched. That was a question of ability.

...: "No! I don’t want a refund on my points! I want my Slime Monster!"

...: "That’s right, I’m not taking a refund either! You took our deposit, so you have to hand over the Slime Monsters!"

...: "PMed you! Don’t forget to include the penalty for breaking the contract."

...

Most of the lords who had paid a deposit did send Keze a private message, asking for their deposit back plus a penalty fee.

Keze refunded their deposits. As for the penalty fee?

’In their dreams.’ It wasn’t like he’d broken the contract on purpose. If they had the guts, they could come to his territory and demand it in person.

However, a small number of lords refused the refund and still wanted a Slime Monster.

Keze tried everything to persuade them, but they wouldn’t back down.

The most crucial part was that one of these lords was a princess from the Titan Race’s Royal Family. Faced with her, Keze was completely powerless.

His family had some connections to the Royal Family, so even though he was now in a third-party faction, he still needed to maintain a good relationship with them.

Besides, if his defection to an outside race was ever exposed in the future, as long as he didn’t personally attack other lords, his relationship with the Royal Family might be enough to clear his name.

As long as Lord Lin Yu was powerful enough, befriending a strong, alien lord could also be seen as beneficial to the Titan Race.

In the end, Keze couldn’t win against the princess and had no choice but to send a subordinate to her territory with a Level 1 Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slime.

Besides the princess, he also picked a few other lords who wanted a Slime and whose territories were close to his, sending each of them a Level 1 Bee Swarm Gluttonous Slime. He decided to treat them as spies sent out before the war.
