Chapter 426: Chapter 26: Small-Scale Natural Disaster 2

Deen saw Qiaolin’s post as well, and the description of his terrible fate sent a shiver down his spine.

However, since the points from the livestream donations had already been credited, he gritted his teeth and steeled himself to cross the Slime Sea.

At the other end of the Slime Sea was his territory’s Lord’s Mansion.

Deen arrived just in time to see the Slimes breach the gate. A massive hand formed by Telekinesis had morphed into a battering ram. It then condensed, shrank, and with a single, sharp thrust...

The Lord’s Mansion’s protective shield, which had a defense value in the millions, shattered in an instant.

And just like that, the Slimes swarmed into the Lord’s Mansion, triggering a cascade of system warnings.

"Huh? I thought the Lord’s Mansion shield started at a minimum of a million defense points? It’s broken already?"

"Holy shit, that scared me so much I had to go check my own Lord’s Mansion shield. It’s only at nine hundred thousand."

"Shaking right now..."

...

Watching this insane method of breaching the gate, the lords in the livestream chat were going wild. An endless flood of comments scrolled across the screen.

Their final line of defense, which they thought was foolproof, was effortlessly dismantled by these soft, jelly-like creatures.

Watching the relentless stream of system warnings, Deen said, "There’s something I need to tell everyone."

"These Slime Monsters are actually occupying my territory. They’re not just messing around."

"I don’t know if this is some kind of official trial or if another lord is behind this."

"Also, I need to get out of here. I can’t stay."

Having achieved their goal of conquering the territory, the Slimes turned their attention to Deen, who stood amidst the Slime Sea.

Deen instantly felt countless eyes on him, and a cold sweat broke out on his brow.

It was the instinctual reaction of a creature facing danger. He knew the only reason the Slime Monsters hadn’t attacked him at first was probably because they didn’t consider him a threat. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

"They’re all looking at me now! Sorry, everyone, I can’t stay here. I have to go!"

Deen carefully tiptoed, trying to avoid the Slimes at his feet as he attempted to leave.

But what awaited him was an invisible barrier.

Deen felt the invisible barrier that had trapped him. His face fell as he said, "Folks, it looks like this is goodbye!"

However, the Slimes didn’t roll Deen into a ball, because he had never attacked them.

But escaping right under their noses was also impossible.

So, Deen was simply trapped where he stood, and the Slimes went back to ignoring him.

And so, Deen remained trapped, broadcasting live as he watched the Slime Monsters split into countless more individuals and sweep across his entire territory in a vast, unending tide.

"What the hell are these Slime Monsters’ skills? Their attack is high, you can’t fight them, hitting them makes more of them, and not hitting them *still* makes more of them."

"Just what kind of monstrous species is this?"

"Looks like they get smaller after splitting. I wonder if their levels drop."

"Their attack power doesn’t seem to have changed after splitting. They’re still just as strong!"

...

More and more lords flooded the stream, all of them watching the Slimes’ various abilities and offering their own takes.

Looking at the huge number of lords who had paid to enter his stream, and thinking about his own impending death, Deen was overcome with a strange mix of terror and glee.

Once the territory was fully occupied, Lin Yu received the notification and descended upon it. He ordered the Slimes to kill the livestreaming lord.

The Slimes didn’t roll Deen into a ball. Instead, they gave him a quick death, ending the conflicting torment of his joyful broadcast and his fear of dying.

Although the Slimes’ abilities would be figured out by the lords eventually, it was always better for the enemy to obtain such intelligence as late as possible.

Following the deaths of Deen and Qiaolin, Rick’s territory was also soon besieged by the Slimes and subsequently occupied.

Having seen what happened to Qiaolin and Deen, he had already fled with his army, managing to escape the disaster.

Lin Yu chose not to destroy the three occupied territories. Instead, he chose to Occupy one and Assimilate the other two.

He assimilated the territories of Qiaolin and Rick. Since both territories bordered Keze’s, they were assigned to Keze’s management to serve as breeding grounds for the Slimes.

The Occupied territory was Deen’s. It contained a significant number of Elf Longbowmen, and Lin Yu was curious how these recruited elves differed from the ones in his own domain. He selected one of his Elf Heroes and appointed them as the supervisor to manage the new territory.

Deen’s territory also had some decent characteristics—two of them, in fact: [Skill Penetration] and [Range Enhancement].

-----------------

[Skill Penetration]: All members of the territory have a chance for their attacks to ignore an enemy’s defensive skills and directly strike their body.

Penetration Chance: 5%.

For units born in this territory, this effect is permanent and applies even outside the territory’s borders.

[Range Enhancement]: Enhances the range of all territory members’ ranged attacks, allowing them to strike targets at a greater distance.

Range Enhancement: 10%

For units born in this territory, this effect is permanent and applies even outside the territory’s borders.

-----------------

With ranged units, these two characteristics were well-suited for both defense and offense. Thus, Lin Yu decided to use Deen’s territory as a Bridgehead.

Unfortunately, these were merely the characteristics of a sub-territory. Units not recruited there could only enjoy the bonus while stationed within its borders. It would have been ideal if his main territory possessed these two traits.

Meanwhile, with the livestream over, the lords of the Titan Race all flocked to their race’s chat group to discuss the events.

...: "Those Slime Monsters have some seriously unnatural abilities, don’t they?"
