Chapter 515: Chapter 508: Finale (Part 2)
The maid felt wronged and hurried downstairs.
A crowd had already gathered outside the villa. Some locals had seen the news trending online and rushed over to see what was happening.
“Timothy Sutton, you fucking coward! I know you’re in there! Get the hell out here and give everyone an explanation!”
“If you don’t come out, I’m calling the police!”
“I’ll have you charged with premeditated murder! My wife is already dead at that construction site, and I don’t want to live anymore either. If it comes to it, I’ll trade my life for yours. I’ll fucking kill you!”
“Timothy Sutton, you monster! What kind of fucking shoddy construction was this?!”
No one knew about the shoddy work on Timothy Sutton’s project.
It wasn’t until the building collapsed, while they were searching for people in the rubble, that they discovered some of the bricks would crumble with the slightest pressure.
But many people were still working on the upper floors. The building, dozens of meters tall, collapsed with a thunderous crash. Before anyone could even react, let alone escape, it was all over in a cloud of dust.
Only one person survived the collapse.
Even more frighteningly, less than a minute after the young woman had dispersed them, the very building they had been protesting in front of also collapsed. BANG! The moment it came down, they felt the earth shake, the very ground beneath their feet trembling.
A chilling realization washed over them.
If they had stayed there, many more of them would have likely died.
And the boss of the Shaw Group wouldn’t get away with it either.
That’s why the workers were absolutely furious. They descended upon the villa’s gates, wishing they could tear Timothy Sutton to shreds.
“Timothy Sutton, you spineless coward! Get out here if you have any guts!”
“My dad’s still in the hospital! We can barely afford the bills! Pay up now!”
“That’s right, compensation!”
At this point, they weren’t even asking for much.
Many of the workers on site were husband-and-wife teams. Some couples were buried together, while others had to watch as their partners were crushed beneath the rubble.
All they wanted now was enough money to pay for their families’ medical treatment and save their lives.
The incident blew up online, and a swarm of reporters had descended on the scene.
Someone had called the police. Half an hour later, officers finally located the villa and knocked on the door, but there was no answer.
“Officer, that coward Timothy Sutton is in there! I just saw his daughter a minute ago!”
“Yeah, I saw her too!”
“You have to bring a man like that to justice!”
The officer frowned, knocked three more times, and issued three warnings. Once they confirmed someone was inside, he glanced at his partner and ordered, “Breach the door!”
CRASH! With just a few blows, the sturdy front door was forced open.
Timothy Sutton, who had been pacing anxiously in the living room, froze. His legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the carpet.
“Sir, please come with us to answer a few questions.”
The officer presented his badge and nodded to his partner. They cuffed Timothy Sutton’s hands, flanked him on either side, and led him away.
Yuna Sutton, sensing something was wrong, could only watch, stunned, as Timothy Sutton was led away before she could even process what was happening.
She rushed after them. “What do you think you’re doing?”
The officer paused, then said, “We’re asking Mr. Sutton to assist us with an investigation.”
Yuna Sutton flared up immediately. “You call this asking? You ‘ask’ my dad to help with an investigation by putting him in handcuffs?”
The officer was at a loss for words.
‘We’re just following procedure. Why is this girl taking it so literally?’
‘Unbelievable!’
“Mr. Sutton is the primary suspect in a case. We are acting in accordance with regulations and procedure. If you wish to file a complaint, miss, you can find our badge numbers on file at the Emberfall Police Department and do so there.”
With that, the officer said curtly, “Take him away.”
Timothy Sutton’s face was ashen.
The moment the police broke in, he knew it was over for him.

Chloe Sinclair brought Jasper Shaw home.
Jasper Shaw’s clothes were covered in dust, and his hands and feet were ice-cold.
Chloe’s heart ached for him. “Did today’s events scare you?”
She added, “Why don’t you take a hot shower first?”
Jasper Shaw hummed in acknowledgment, but his gaze never left Chloe.
He beckoned with his finger. “Chloe, come here.”
Chloe walked over. “What is it?”
Sitting on the sofa, Jasper Shaw looked at Chloe’s hair, which had come undone and was now draped over her shoulders.
Chloe’s hair had grown quite a bit since last year.
Jasper lowered his head, resting it on Chloe’s shoulder. His voice was heavy as he said, “Chloe, thank you for saving me again.”
