From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius
Chapter 514: Finale
Chapter 514: Chapter 508: Finale
Yuna Sutton was dressed in designer clothes and had her makeup done perfectly, ready to head out. However, as soon as she stepped outside, she found a crowd of one or two hundred people standing in front of her family’s villa.
Meanwhile, her father, Timothy Sutton, was in the living room, frantically pacing back and forth.
Yuna had been planning to go shopping with Wyatt Thorne.
A few days ago, Wyatt had taken a liking to a sweatshirt that cost over thirty thousand, and she planned to buy it for him today to make him happy.
The crowd outside, however, gave her pause.
She couldn’t help but ask, “Dad, why are all those laborers here? Are they asking for money or something? Hurry up and call the police to get rid of them!”
Yuna’s tone was extremely impatient. “I’m supposed to be going shopping with Wyatt!”
‘How am I supposed to get out with all these people here?’
Normally, Timothy Sutton would have given Yuna anything she wanted.
But at this moment, seeing Yuna dressed so ostentatiously, he was incredibly irritated. “Shopping, shopping! Is that all you know how to do all day long?!”
Yuna’s eyes widened.
‘This was the first time her father had ever yelled at her in her entire life.’
Having been a pampered heiress for twenty years, Yuna couldn’t possibly bear being treated this way. The rims of her eyes immediately turned red.
But Timothy was already at his wit’s end, and the sight of Yuna only made him angrier.
“And now you’re crying? Have you seen how much money you’ve spent on Wyatt Thorne this past year? You buy him gifts at least three times a month, and that’s not even counting your meals and other outings. It must be half a million over the year, wouldn’t you say?”
The mere mention of Wyatt Thorne made Timothy furious.
Previously, since his daughter liked the boy, he’d thought it was fine for her to just have some fun.
So he had turned a blind eye.
But today, Yuna kept pushing his buttons, and he was absolutely livid.
Timothy hadn’t actually calculated how much Yuna had spent on Wyatt Thorne before. Now that he thought about it, he realized it was a truly significant amount.
It stung to think about it.
Half a million!
Even for a wealthy businessman, half a million was no small sum for a self-made man like him.
When Yuna heard her father bad-mouthing Wyatt Thorne, she grew defensive. “Dad, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed today? What’s wrong with Wyatt? I think he’s a great guy. His family isn’t well-off, sure, but he treats me so well. Back when Chloe Sinclair was giving me a hard time at school and everyone was laughing at me, it was Wyatt who stepped in to defend me. He even went and apologized on my behalf.”
“And who says he never buys me presents? Every time I buy him something, he gets me something in return!”
‘None of her ex-boyfriends ever thought of giving her gifts; all they wanted was to get money out of her.’
‘Wyatt Thorne was the first one who ever reciprocated.’
Yuna was convinced that Wyatt was a good person.
But Timothy Sutton just sneered. “You mean that necklace around your neck?”
Yuna replied, “Yes!”
Timothy laughed, exasperated. “A single piece of clothing you buy for him costs, at the very least, eight thousand. That cheap necklace he bought you—did it even cost eight?”
Yuna was completely unfazed. “You can’t measure a gift by its price! Besides, Wyatt’s parents are in poor health, he has to work every day, and he sends money home every month. It’s already a huge deal that he can afford to buy me anything at all. So what if the necklace only cost a few bucks?!”
Timothy: “…”
‘My daughter is a lost cause,’ he suddenly thought.
He knew there was absolutely no future for his daughter with Wyatt Thorne, so he just waved his hand dismissively. “Forget it. I can’t even stand to look at you right now. Let me be clear, you’re not going out today. Didn’t you see that crowd outside?”
The workers’ voices were loud, and even with the villa’s soundproofing, Yuna could hear them loud and clear.
She asked, confused, “Why are they demanding money from you? Did you do something?”
Yuna was nothing more than a pampered, clueless young lady. Timothy had once hoped she would take over the company, but he quickly discovered that his daughter was, in fact, a complete airhead.
He had abandoned the idea of her joining the company a long time ago.
So when he heard her question, he just said, “What could it be? I’m just a few days late on their pay. You go on upstairs. They’ll make a fuss until evening and then go home. Don’t worry about them.”
Yuna grew anxious at once. “But Wyatt is waiting for me at the mall!”
‘If I stand Wyatt up, he might ignore me for a whole month.’
Unable to leave, Yuna was in a terrible mood.
But Timothy’s tone was serious, and Yuna didn’t dare to defy him.
She stomped upstairs in a huff. When a maid came up to bring her fresh water and was about to ask if she wanted a drink, Yuna shot her a disgusted look and snapped, “Drink? Drink my ass!”
