What should she do?

At present, she didn’t have a solution.

Thinking of this, Yvonne’s heart sank.

As if she could read Yvonne’s mind, Mrs. Taylor said in a hurry, "Look at me. I’m getting on in years, yet I still like such delicate powder pink colors like a young girl."

She sounded a little embarrassed.

Yvonne paused for a moment and said, "Didn’t they say that no matter how old a woman is, she will always have a girl’s heart? It’s normal for us to like pinks."

"You’re right. Why don’t we buy it?"

Mrs. Taylor seemed to be asking for her opinion.

Yvonne could not help feeling stunned thinking to herself. "Is she saying that she wants to buy this baby bed?"

However, there were obviously a lot of pink things.

"Why does she have to buy this baby bed?"

Yvonne was still a little confused, but she didn’t want to spoil Mrs. Taylor’ good mood. She said, "Of course you can."

Mrs. Taylor happily instructed the chauffeur behind her.

Not long after, the pink baby bed was put into the car.

After returning home, Yvonne couldn’t understand why Mrs. Taylor would suddenly buy a baby bed until the baby bed was placed in the baby room next to their bedroom.

Only then did she realize that Mrs. Taylor was trying to create a baby environment to encourage the mood to get pregnant.

After realizing this, her heart could no longer remain calm.

First, it was just a bowl of soup nightly to nourish her body for pregnancy, but now, Mrs. Taylor was making it open that this was her priority.

That infant bed was like an invisible whip that could whip her at any time.

Mrs. Taylor was constantly reminding her of her ardent desire to have a grandson.

How could she feel at ease?

In the evening, when James returned home, he realized that something was wrong with her.

"What’s wrong?"

When he entered the bedroom, he saw her sitting alone on the bed, sulking, so he walked over and asked.

Only then did Yvonne slowly raise her head to look at him. She wanted to say something, but she did not know how to say it.

She hesitated for a moment and sighed. "I’m fine."

After saying that, she turned her back to him and lay on the bed.

James looked at her strange actions from the side, frowned, and asked, "By the way, did you probe Mom about us moving back today?"

Yvonne had forgotten about this but she also recalled what Mrs. Taylor had said in response to her question so she frowned and said, "Let’s talk about moving back some other time."

Hearing this, James frowned. "Is it because Mom doesn’t agree? I can always talk to her."

As soon as she heard this, she stopped him. "Please don’t. Don’t mention this matter again. Let’s give it some time before we bring it up."

"That won’t do. If we continue to stay here, I’m afraid..." He stopped and didn’t say out loud what was on his mind.

"Afraid of what?"

She obviously knew something was up.

He fell silent.

"Are you hiding something from me?"

Looking into her questioning eyes, he felt guilty and quickly avoided her. "No... I can’t hide anything from you."

She was still skeptical. "No, you must be hiding something from me. Tell me quickly."

"I really didn’t."

Seeing that he refused to tell the truth, she gave up. She sighed and said, "You have nothing to hide but I do."

"What?"

He looked over in confusion.

She bent her knees, hugged her knees with her hands, and rested her chin on them. She said slowly, "Mom and I went to the mall today. She bought me a pile of clothes."

...

"Really? Isn’t that good?"

James originally thought she was going to grumble, but hearing this, he let out a sigh of relief.

Yvonne frowned and said, "It’s good, but don’t you think it’s too strange for Mom to do this?"

"Why is it strange?" James did not understand.

"Mom loves me. I know that, but she treats me too well, doesn’t she? The way she treats me is more than a Mom should do," Yvonne said.

James chuckled and replied, "That’s because she’s always wanted a daughter, so she doted on you."

"Really?" Yvonne asked.

"Of course, you read too much into it."

"But Mom bought a crib and laid it in the baby room next door," Yvonne said.

James was surprised. "Are you sure?"

Yvonne nodded. "Go to take a look and you’ll see."

Hearing this, James was stunned. He then said, "Did she say why she bought the crib?"

"Yeah, she told me that she likes baby stuff," Yvonne answered truthfully.

James’s brows drew together in a frown.

He understood what his mother meant.

That was obviously a silent urging.

First, she bought a pile of things for Yvonne, and then she expressed her wish implicitly with the crib.

That was a brilliant move. Not only did it appease Yvonne, but it also tactfully expressed her desire to have a grandchild.

He had imagined every means his mother might do, but he didn’t expect this move of his mother.

"Then what do you think?" James asked tentatively.

Yvonne sighed heavily and said helplessly. She said in a low voice, "What can I say? It’s not the first time I’ve heard Mother wanting to have a grandson, but I didn’t expect so strong and urgent her wish is. I suddenly feel so useless that I can’t even satisfy her wish."

She had been thinking about this since she came back from the mall.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt that she didn’t deserve to be a doctor.

She was actually helpless in the face of this matter.

Seeing her so distressed, James felt sorry for her and comforted her softly. "It’s not just about you. I’m as much to blame. I failed to make you pregnant." James lowered his head and said in embarrassment.

Hearing his words, Yvonne realized that she had accidentally hurt him. She quickly said, "Don’t say that. Getting pregnant is not that easy. Maybe we need some luck."

"Since you know why, why are you blaming yourself?"

James pulled her into his arms as he spoke.

The girl leaned against his warm embrace and couldn’t help sighing. "I just feel too helpless. Why don’t we go to the hospital for a check-up?"

She suddenly suggested.

James was stunned and slowly let go of her. "Why do you suddenly think so?"

Yvonne said, "I’ve been thinking it for days. In fact, we should have had a comprehensive physical examination before we got married. At that time, we were in a hurry to get the marriage certificate. It’s a good opportunity to make up for it. What do you think?"

Hearing her words, James remembered that his mother had asked him to take his wife for a physical examination. He had not intended to tell her, but now Yvonne brought it up first.

He did not think it was very necessary for a physical examination, but if she insisted, he was willing to cooperate.

As such, he nodded and said, "Fine by me, if you think it’s necessary."

...

"Well, I’ll make an appointment. Let’s find a time to have a check-up together."

As soon as Yvonne finished speaking, James remembered that his mother had said that she had arranged everything. He quickly said, "Let me arrange it. You should stay at home and have a good rest for the next few days."

Hearing his words, Yvonne nodded in agreement.

James heaved a sigh of relief.

Finally, they did as his mother wished.

On Saturday morning, the two of them arrived at the hospital.

Yvonne was much more nervous about the physical examination than her husband.

First of all, she was a doctor herself. She had participated in many projects. Although she didn’t think it would be uncomfortable, she was still a little resistant, especially in the complicated gynecology examination. Just thinking about it made her creepy.

Secondly, she was a doctor and was used to seeing all kinds of people and things in the hospital. Although it was just a simple physical examination, everyone was equal in front of the instruments and data, and she would not get preferential treatment because of her identity.

Those instruments and numbers could not be faked, and problems would also surface.

And she was worried that something would really happen to her.

After all, regular physical examinations did not include gynecology.

She had never conducted a check-up on this aspect.

"What’s wrong? Are you afraid?" James noticed her nervousness and asked.

Yvonne quickly shook her head. "No, I’m not."

A doctor was afraid of being examined. It must be embarrassing if he found out!

James took a meaningful look at the corner of her wrinkled shirt and said, "Actually, I’m a little nervous."

"You?" Yvonne looked over in surprise.

James nodded and then bent down to whisper something into her ear meaningfully.

Yvonne instantly flushed. She glanced around and said bashfully, "Be serious."

Seeing that she was finally smiling, James was relieved.

"Don’t worry. I’ll come to you after the examination."

His interruption eased Yvonne’s nervousness.

She nodded.

After that, the two of them went to their respective physical examination rooms.

After a series of physical examination tests, they finally finished the day’s physical examination.

Some results would come out on the same day, while others would take two days.

Yvonne came out of the doctor’s office, holding a stack of test sheets in her hand.

She ran into someone when she was reading them.

The test results in her hand were scattered all over the floor. Just as she was about to squat down and pick them up, the man she ran into quickly picked up the test reports.

Yvonne was stunned. She slowly looked up, seeing a familiar face. It was Stanley Levingston.

She snatched the test reports from his hand with a cold face.

The files were taken away, and Stanley was obviously at a loss. Seeing that Yvonne was about to leave, he quickly stopped her and said, "Yvonne, are you feeling unwell? Why did you come to the hospital?"

Yvonne ignored him and was about to walk past him.

Stanley followed to stop her again.

Yvonne looked at him coldly and said, "What do you want?"

Stanley then adjusted his glasses by the corner and said, "Yvonne, I just want to ask you if you have thought about going back to the hospital."

"I won’t go back to the hospital," Yvonne said firmly.
