Chapter 360: Honey, Did You Have A Nightmare Again?

  • Next Chapter

Every time she woke up, she couldn’t fall asleep again. It was the late pregnancy period when the fetal brain developed rapidly. Being unable to sleep all day was a big problem after all. For this reason, Christopher took her to see doctors everywhere, but they could not find a solution.

One day, in the middle of the night, Janice was awakened by a nightmare. She suddenly sat up in the bed and frightened Christopher beside her. He quickly turned on the lamp beside the bed. When he saw Janice sweating profusely, he was stunned, "Honey, did you have a nightmare again?"

He took a tissue to wipe her sweat. Janice nodded. Recently, she had always had a strange dream for no reason. But after she woke up from the dreams, she couldn’t remember anything. She was a little depressed. "Honey, I can’t sleep anymore."

"Then... I’ll accompany you."

"No, you have to go to the company tomorrow. What if you don’t sleep well?"

"The company’s affairs can wait. Let’s go. I will take a walk with you in the yard." He got out of bed and went to the closet to find Janice a thick coat to put on, and then he helped her to walk downstairs. It was early winter, and the night was as cold. Christopher helped Janice walk into the yard and sat down on the bench. He subconsciously looked up at the sky and found that the moonlight was good at night. It was bright and clear.

"Honey, look, the moon is beautiful tonight."

Janice slowly raised her head and looked over, and a surprise suddenly appeared in her eyes.

"Yes, it’s so beautiful." Janice couldn’t help but exclaim.

She hadn’t enjoyed the moon as she did now for a long while. Since she got pregnant, she had strictly followed a healthy schedule every night and fell asleep before ten o’clock every night, and she never had the opportunity to see such beautiful moonlight. "Honey, get my phone. I want to take a picture." Janice said.

Christopher hurriedly went back to the house to retrieve the phone and hand it over. After Janice got the phone, she took many pictures of the moon, and finally, she asked Christopher to take a picture of herself with the moon and posted it on her Facebook, "The moon is so beautiful, but unfortunately I couldn’t fall asleep. I wish the moon could always be beautiful as tonight."

After she posted it, she found Christopher liked it in seconds. She glanced at Christopher who was putting down his phone at the same time as her and felt somewhat embarrassed. "Honey, do you think I’m too sentimental now?"

She would not have posted something so sentimental before. Christopher frowned, "Is it sentimental to post it? Then I will post it too."

He took a photo of the shadow of him and Janice cuddling together and posted it,

"The moonlight is beautiful but not as beautiful as my wife."

Janice blushed when she saw his post. How could he praise his wife so shamelessly? "Now I’m being sentimental with you. Do you feel better?" Christopher laughed.

Janice was amused by him. She certainly felt better to have such a considerate and humorous husband. She rested her head slowly on his shoulder and said, "Honey, do you think there are fairies on the moon?"

"There are if you believe it," Christopher said.

"Then do you believe it?" Janice asked.

Christopher paused before saying, "I didn’t believe it before."

"What about you now?" Janice asked again.

...

Christopher chuckled at her before saying, "I believe it now." Hearing this, Janice looked up suspiciously, "Why?"

Christopher held her hand, rubbed his slender fingers against the back of her hand a few times, and then said, "Because when your mood changes, the way you look at the problem will naturally be different."

"Really?" Janice wondered, "Then tell me, what’s your mood now?"

Janice looked at him curiously. Christopher stared at her for a while before saying, "Of course it had become better. Once people have warmth in their hearts, the whole world is warmer, and they will naturally become full of hope. Aren’t those fairy tales supposed to give people hope?"

"Then where does your warmth come from?" Janice asked again.

Christopher stared at her curious face and couldn’t help but smile, "Of course you gave it to me."

"Me?" Janice was surprised, "Why didn’t I know that I had such energy?"

"Of course you didn’t know. Do you know where I first met you?" Christopher asked. Janice thought for a while, "It’s Peony Restaurant, the place where we went on a blind date."

Christopher shook his head. Janice frowned, didn’t they meet there? She remembered that it was the place where they met each other for the first time. Was there something she didn’t know? Thinking of this, Janice said hurriedly, "Hurry up and tell me."

Christopher knew that she couldn’t answer, and simply answered directly, "It’s on the road."

"On the road?" Janice looked confused.

Christopher said, "Yes, it was on the road, to be precise, on your way to Peony Restaurant."

Janice was even more confused now. On her way to Peony Restaurant? Why didn’t she remember it at all? It stood to reason that it was impossible. After all, Christopher was so handsome, and she must remember it if she had seen him before. Now, Janice became more curious.

"Don’t keep me in suspense. Tell me!"

Christopher smiled helplessly. He had expected that she would not be able to guess it. He paused and said, "Do you remember that at an intersection that day when you were waiting at the traffic light, you once got out of the car and helped an old woman cross the road?"

Janice thought for a while, and it seemed she suddenly thought of something, and she hurriedly said, "I remembered it, but I didn’t see you at the time."

Christopher couldn’t help but chuckle, "Of course you didn’t see me. I was in the car behind you."

Janice recalled for a while but still couldn’t remember it. She said, "But what does it have to do with warmth?"

She was puzzled. Christopher chuckled, "That day, your warmth shone into my heart t like a ray of sunshine."

It was her warm behavior that melted his cold heart that had been frozen for many years. Janice was a little embarrassed to hear him say that. Unexpectedly, such an ordinary behavior had given Christopher such a big influence. It seemed that the old saying was quite interesting, and good people would be rewarded.

In other words, she should be a good person. Janice thought about it secretly and felt very sweet and happy. However, she suddenly felt that something was wrong. "No, honey, didn’t you have amnesia? Why do you remember this?" She looked at him suspiciously. Christopher was surprised, and only then did he realize that he was caught in a lie.

...

He had just tied to make her laugh, but he didn’t think he’d let it slip. Christopher was somewhat helpless. He had wanted to surprise her. It seemed that he could only admit it. Thinking of this, Christopher simply confessed, "I remember it all."

"Really? When did it happen? Why didn’t I know it at all?" Janice asked three questions in a row in surprise. Of course, she didn’t know it, because he had taken pains to keep it from her.

"It’s unimportant when it happened. The important thing is that I remember it.

Janice, you worked hard during that time. Thank you." He said sincerely.

Janice couldn’t help but sniff, "It has been a long time. Honey, it’s so great that you remember it all. in the future, I will never feel that I am the only one remembering those things alone."

"Don’t cry." Christopher wiped her tears. Janice said, "I couldn’t help it."

"Well, when you want to cry, raise your head like this, and it helps." Christopher looked up and gave her a demonstration.

"Let me try."

Janice followed his example, and slowly raised her head. As expected, her tears stopped. "How about it?" Christopher asked.

Janice said, "I did it, honey." She was as happy as a child. Christopher stroked the top of her hair and said, "Let’s go. It’s getting late. Let’s go back to the bedroom." Janice nodded.

The two went back to the bedroom together. After that, Janice fell asleep magically. Christopher looked at her closed eyes and smiled in relief. After all, he didn’t waste the wonderful opportunity to surprise her. Thinking of this, Christopher also lay down and slowly closed his eyes. The next day, he was woken up by a phone call from the company. He was told about Nathan’s sudden visit.

Christopher didn’t feel surprised at all. After knowing that his father had stolen his project that day, he had expected that he would come. So before Janice woke up, he left. When he arrived at the company, Nathan was already sitting in his office and sipping coffee slowly. Christopher frowned, walked over, sat down on the solo sofa opposite him, and said directly, "Dad, what can I help you?"

Hearing this, Nathan put down the coffee cup, raised his head, and looked him up and down a few times, "Well, we can negotiate a deal." "Deal?" Christopher didn’t understand.

What deal could he negotiate with his father? Nathan didn’t care about the ridiculous smile on his face, and said, "You know that I stole your project, right?" "I know, but so what?" Christopher frowned.

Nathan said, "This is the main condition on which I want to negotiate with you." "What condition?" Christopher asked.

Nathan smiled cunningly and said, "You know, for me, that project is useless, but it

is a great opportunity for you to improve the company’s shortcomings." Christopher just looked at the table without answering. Nathan continued, "If you want, I am willing to return the project to you. The premise is to persuade your mother to vote for me at the next shareholder meeting. Of course, you have to convince yourself first."
