Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Chapter 421-Making Them Respect My Mate

Theodore:

"Everything got messed up because of you," Jaguar complained as we reached our house.

That was when the maid told us Ragnar had just left for Verity’s place before heading off on a trip.

Honestly, Jaguar and I exchanged a relieved look.

"Happy now that I intervened?" Jaguar asked, reminding me that his showing up at her house had turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

"You were the one complaining earlier about me interfering," I reminded him.

He lifted a hand, dismissing me.

I moved over to the couch and sat down, hoping Jaguar would head to his room so I could move forward with the next part of my plan.

Unfortunately, he caught on and lowered himself onto the couch as well, keeping his eyes on me.

"What are you thinking about?" he asked.

I scratched the back of my neck, debating whether I should tell him.

Going to Gigi’s place alone could be a problem, but if the two of us went together, things might go more smoothly.

"I was thinking about paying Gigi a visit," I admitted, watching Jaguar zone out for a moment.

"Yeah, I think we’ve been pretty rude to her," he replied.

I nodded. "True, but she was rude to Verity too."

Jaguar slowly raised his eyes to mine, probably wondering whether I understood that what Gigi had done was wrong and, if I did, why I was suddenly planning to go see her.

"What are you thinking, Theodore?" he asked, lightly bouncing his leg.

"You know how Verity has always been considerate of everyone’s feelings."

The moment I started talking, Jaguar nodded so enthusiastically that it was almost as if he needed to prove he knew her better than I did.

That was exactly the kind of thing about him that got on my nerves.

"She always apologizes without worrying about her ego or dignity, right?" I continued.

"Exactly." Jaguar pointed at me, punctuating the agreement with another firm nod.

"But this time, Gigi was way out of line," I muttered.

His eager nodding slowed as he sank into thought.

"Shouldn’t she be the one apologizing to Verity?"

Jaguar’s eyes widened the second the question left my mouth.

He knew exactly how big a deal I was suggesting.

Nothing like this had ever happened before.

We had always treated Gigi with tremendous respect, love, and care.

Not once had we expected her to apologize to us.

Sometimes she got cranky because, well, everyone did, but we had never made her say sorry to anyone.

"Oh, she’s going to be so upset," Jaguar remarked.

"Yeah, well, then she shouldn’t have said those things to Verity. Verity is the one who’s hurt right now, and she has every right to be. If Gigi gets upset because we ask her to apologize, that would just be..." I paused, biting my tongue.

"Bratty?" Jaguar supplied.

I nodded. "Yeah. That’s exactly the word I was thinking."

I lowered my voice to a whisper, as though even the walls weren’t allowed to hear me say it.

"You know what? Yeah, we should ask her to apologize. It’ll make me look good in Verity’s eyes." Jaguar leaned back with a pleased smile, stretching both arms across the back of the couch.

"And this is exactly why I didn’t want to include you. You always try to take the credit. The idea wasn’t even in your head until I brought it up." I glared at him and pointed a finger in his direction.

"Too late, buddy. Too late," Jaguar replied smugly.

"But how are we going to pull this off? Gigi might flip out."

Jaguar pulled his arms away from the couch and tapped a finger against his chin.

"I don’t think she will," he reasoned. "I know she’s sensitive and cries easily, but she’s considerate too. She’ll do it for us because she cares about us, right? Her first reaction came from thinking we were fighting and might hurt each other. If we explain how important this is to us, I think she’ll apologize for our sake. Verity has done the same thing countless times for everyone else."

Every word coming out of Jaguar’s mouth was so fucking true that I couldn’t help smiling.

"You’re right. Let’s go, then. I want Verity to come back to a pleasant environment where she feels welcome and respected," I said, placing a hand over my chest and rubbing it lightly.

Just thinking about Verity lifted my mood.

I could do anything to have her as my mate and proudly introduce her to everyone.

God, they were all going to be jealous when they saw such a beautiful woman beside me, and the thought of having her all to myself afterward was even more thrilling.

Verity was nothing like any woman I had dated before.

She was sassy.

At first, she had been quiet and obedient, but once she grew comfortable around me, that other side of her started coming out.

Around people she trusted, she could be bold, playful, and sharp-tongued.

That had never been the kind of woman I usually went for, yet somehow, with Verity, I loved it.

It made me happy.

More than that, it excited me.

"Well, then let’s go. We need to talk to her, and I’m sure she’ll listen to us."

With that, I decided we would pay Gigi a visit that night.

We both got up and headed straight for the door, but this time, we didn’t get into the same car.

Something between us had shifted. We weren’t going to keep acting like buddies when things had clearly changed.

I cared too much about Verity, and I wasn’t willing to share her with anyone or risk losing her to someone else.

On the way, we picked up lilies, chocolates, and a few other flowers and gifts for Gigi.

We couldn’t exactly show up at her door empty-handed and demand an apology.

That would only stir up her past trauma.

Even though I was still upset with Gigi over the way she had reacted, maybe Jaguar was right.

Maybe she had only been trying to protect us.

Still, this moment would tell me everything I needed to know.

If Gigi truly cared about me, she would understand how important this was and be willing to apologize to Verity.
