Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Chapter 422-I Owe Her An Apology

  • Next Chapter

Gigi:

When I checked the camera outside my front door, Theodore and Jaguar were standing there.

I could hardly believe my eyes.

To be honest, after what had happened at the office that day, I hadn’t expected either of them to come back.

I had been driving myself crazy wondering how I was supposed to get them both to come to my house at the same time.

Yet there they were.

And I already knew they hadn’t come to confront me or give me another lecture.

They were holding bouquets and gifts. Jaguar even had a purple teddy bear tucked under one arm.

So they had finally realized they had wronged me.

I went to the door, but I didn’t open it. From the way they were standing out there, it looked like they were having a conversation.

And, of course, I wanted to hear exactly what they were saying.

"Listen, Jaguar. You’re not going to say anything stupid," Theodore warned him, making me press my ear closer to the door while keeping my eyes fixed on the screen in my hand.

The camera outside my house didn’t record sound.

There was a reason for that.

Sometimes I did stupid things myself, and sometimes my brother or my mother did, and I didn’t want every little thing caught on audio.

"I don’t do anything wrong. You’re the one who was rude to her," Jaguar shot back.

I couldn’t help hiding a smile.

The two idiots had finally come to make things right, and honestly, I couldn’t have asked for more.

That was simply the kind of person I was; softhearted.

For the people I loved, I could do almost anything.

"Yeah, yeah, I know. As if you’re some innocent little angel," Theodore complained.

"Anyway, listen," Theodore continued. "Whatever happens, we’re going to talk to her nicely. This is important to us, and you know how much it matters that she forgives us."

The moment he said that, I placed both hands over my chest, my lips beginning to tremble.

That was so sweet.

I honestly hadn’t realized they thought about me this much.

And suddenly, something became very clear to me. No matter what Verity did, she wasn’t going to win them over that easily.

Look at them.

They were standing outside my door, not hers.

"I know," Jaguar muttered. "I won’t mess anything up. Just make sure you control that mouth of yours."

I pouted.

The two idiots had no idea I wasn’t planning to give them a hard time at all.

I knew they were trapped in this situation too.

The Moon Goddess had practically forced Verity on them, and because the two of them had always been competitive, naturally they were fighting over her.

Otherwise, deep down, maybe even they knew they deserved better.

Someone like me.

Imagine one brother getting to marry a girl like me while the others ended up with someone like Verity.

Of course there would be disappointment buried somewhere in their hearts.

But I was here.

They could apologize, I would forgive them, and I was more than ready to guide them back onto the right path.

Then Theodore knocked.

I quickly slipped away from the door and tiptoed back toward my bedroom.

I lowered my head, tousled my hair, and applied a little red lipstick, just enough to leave a faint color on my lips.

Then I dabbed some of the lipstick onto my cheeks and rubbed it in to give them a flushed look.

After that, I undid a few buttons on my shirt and let one side slip completely off my shoulder.

Reaching underneath, I unclasped my bra, pulled my arms free of the straps, and worked it out from beneath my shirt before tossing it aside.

I was already wearing a tiny pair of shorts.

Looking as though I had just rolled out of bed, I made my way toward the door, yawning along the way.

The house was cold enough that I could feel my nipples pressing visibly against the thin fabric of my shirt.

"Yes?" I answered sleepily as I opened the door.

"Oh. Hey. How are you?" Theodore greeted me immediately.

I let my arms fall loosely at my sides, pretending as though they had dragged me straight out of a deep sleep.

"You two?" I asked, lowering my head with a pout.

"You’re not going to invite us inside?" Jaguar asked.

I stepped away from the doorway, allowing them both to enter.

After locking the door behind them, I walked into the living room and sat down.

I pressed my arms tightly against my sides, making the loose fabric of my shirt draw inward between my breasts and emphasize the shape of my chest.

But when I looked at them, neither of them was staring at me.

Usually, they would look first and then awkwardly glance away.

This time, they weren’t doing any of that shit.

Probably because they had come here to make amends, and neither of them wanted to screw it up.

"What is it you wanted to talk about?" I asked, keeping up the facade that I was still upset with them.

They could tell from the way I refused to look in their direction.

"Gigi, what happened that day shouldn’t have happened," Jaguar began.

Of course, he took the lead. He always did. He was known for being more level-headed and composed than Theodore.

I nodded slowly, rubbing the corner of my eye while keeping my gaze lowered.

"I agree," I murmured, making sure they understood just how much the way they had treated me had hurt.

"That’s why we’re here. To fix everything," Theodore said, shifting anxiously on the sofa.

"Yeah, I think..." Jaguar trailed off, glancing at Theodore.

I slowly lifted my head and tucked my hair behind my ear, ready to hear their apology properly.

"I think you should apologize to Verity," Jaguar said.

For a second, I could only stare at him.

"What?" I blurted out before I could stop myself.

"He thinks, and I do too, that you should apologize to Verity," Theodore added. "What you said to her was wrong, especially after what your brother did to her."

For a moment, I had to steady myself because I wasn’t even sure I had heard them correctly.

Were they really saying what I thought they were saying?

"What?" I asked again.

The two of them exchanged a glance before straightening in their seats.

Then, in unison, they said, "You owe Verity an apology."

The words left me completely numb.
