Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2740: Bad Guy, Competing with Her for Mom
The aunt sighed as she spoke.
"Poor little kids!"
The villagers spoke in dialect. Fortunately, Jasmine Yale had grown up in Willow Wave City, so she understood everything and had no trouble communicating.
Like them, she felt great sympathy for the children here.
After chatting for a while, Jasmine went back to tidy up her room. Everything she needed was there; even a crib had been prepared by Principal Warner.
Little Clementine fell asleep, and Jasmine patiently watched over her, "You will have brothers and sisters to play with in the future, and Mom will be able to spend more time with you."
There was no internet here, and phone signals were intermittent, often dropping out.
Thankfully, the village wasn’t large, and she wouldn’t get lost, so there weren’t any big problems.
In the afternoon, she prepared her lessons and made numerous work notes, writing neatly and attentively.
Sitting by the window, she watched as the sun gradually sank from the west until it disappeared below the horizon, leaving behind a faint afterglow and golden hues.
The Green Peak Village was bathed in a golden hue, looking exceptionally charming.
In the evening, she had dinner at Principal Warner’s house, where they talked about the curriculum and the children’s health issues.
Principal Warner’s wife brought in the little boy who had just arrived, continuously sighing, "Look, isn’t the little boy adorable, and he’s so good-looking."
Jasmine glanced at the little boy; he was indeed beautiful, with fair and tender skin, a high nose bridge, long eyelashes, and a handsome face.
"The child doesn’t have a name yet. How about Teacher Yale give him one?" the principal’s wife suggested.
"Ah?" Jasmine was flattered, "Then what... surname does he have?"
"He doesn’t have a surname, the orphanage children are given surnames in the order of the Hundred Family Surnames, and this child’s surname happens to be ’Li.’ The ’Li’ character is tricky, my husband came up with a few names, but I didn’t find any nice. Teacher Yale, you think of one."
Jasmine bent down to tease the little baby in the principal’s wife’s arms, who happened to be blinking and looking at her with big, shiny eyes.
"How about Ting Feng, Lesley Uki," Jasmine suggested after thinking.
"Sounds nice!" The principal’s wife immediately beamed with happiness.
Principal Warner agreed, "It’s better than the names I came up with. As expected from Teacher Yale, who studied abroad."
Jasmine felt a bit embarrassed by the compliment, "It’s just a random name, nothing special."
"As long as it sounds nice, that’s all that matters," the principal’s wife said, "Teacher Yale, you studied abroad?"
"No, I just studied a bit overseas," Jasmine didn’t want to talk much about the past.
Principal Warner realized he might have said too much and quickly changed the subject, "How about a nickname, the child doesn’t have a nickname yet!"
"A nickname is simple, I’ll decide, let’s call him Sunny, like the morning sun, full of energy," the principal’s wife said.
Jasmine laughed, gently pinching the soft little hand of the baby, "Sunny, that’s nice."
The little baby seemed very happy, grinning wide.
However, Little Clementine wasn’t happy. In the stroller, she tilted her head back, furrowed her brows, and threw her doll on the ground.
"Mommy..." No one paid attention to her.
"Mommy..."
Jasmine finally turned her head, bending down, "What do you want, calling for mommy?"
Little Clementine remained silent, pouting her lips.
Jasmine pinched her cheeks, "Are you getting jealous?"
Principal Warner and his wife both laughed, and Jasmine lifted Little Clementine from the stroller, patiently coaxing her.
Little Clementine looked at the little baby in the swaddle with displeasure; this little rascal was competing for her mommy.
Such a tiny rascal, just a little one.
"The two children are about the same age, they can play together in the future and won’t be too lonely," the principal’s wife remarked.
