Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2739: Found a Baby by the Roadside

Jasmine Yale didn’t find it particularly arduous; at least it was much calmer than the finance world.

After spending so much time in Cakago, the only thing she was unaccustomed to in Green Peak Village was the simplicity and warmth here, lacking any coldness.

When she returned to the orphanage, the children were all playing, with a few elderly people supervising.

The orphanage receives a batch of funding every year, but the money isn’t much, mainly used to pay salaries and buy clothes and educational materials.

Jasmine Yale walked around the orphanage.

The classrooms were very basic, the blackboards and desks were all rudimentary.

In autumn, not many volunteers came, just one or two older teachers, who were the old private school teachers from the village.

Most young people from the village have left, and there are fewer and fewer children, only the orphanage is bustling, with many children.

This group of children is particularly pitiful, without father or mother, lonely. Jasmine Yale looked at their innocent smiles, feeling a pang of sadness in her heart.

Some little girls were particularly beautiful, but unfortunately, nobody wanted such pretty girls.

Jasmine Yale chatted idly with a few working elder women.

"Are you the new Teacher Yale? Probably won’t stay long, right? There were a few young people who came to teach before, and they left in less than a month."

Jasmine Yale smiled: "No, I quite like it here."

"It’s not liking, it’s novelty to you. Once the novelty fades, you’ll find it boring, and want to leave. But with a new teacher, the children are quite happy and will learn something."

"They all love learning, right?"

"A few really do, look at that little girl, she’s very smart with good grades, such a pity." One elder woman pointed.

Jasmine Yale looked at the children running around on the ground, the corners of her lips slightly turned up.

"Teacher Yale, you came here with a daughter, where’s your husband? What about your family? Did they agree to this?"

"I have no family."

"Oh! You look delicate, like you’ve never suffered, go back, there’s nothing here." The elder woman advised.

"I won’t leave, since no one is teaching the children, I will teach them." Jasmine Yale’s eyes were especially determined, "These children are quite lovely, it would be better if someone taught them."

"What’s the use, when they’re teenagers, they’ll go out to work, what’s the point."

"Once I’m familiar, I’ll consider helping them connect with charities or people willing to adopt, it won’t be useless. Learning some knowledge is always useful."

The elder woman didn’t understand, hearing Jasmine Yale say this, still thought the young lady was boastful.

The elder woman believed Jasmine Yale wouldn’t stay long.

Just then, Jasmine Yale heard a baby crying, she furrowed her brow.

"Aunt, are there still children being brought here?"

"A few days ago someone found a baby by the roadside, looks like it hasn’t been long since birth. Don’t know what kind of cruel people, it’s a boy, really good-looking. Your Principal Warner is kind-hearted, brought him to the orphanage."

"That’s how it is."

"Children like this, either the parents are young, secretly born and can’t afford to raise, or have defects. But for now, the child seems just skinny, no major problems."

Jasmine silently sighed in her heart, such a pitiful child.

So small and already abandoned.

"The baby was thrown at the foot of the mountain, when the villagers found him, he was crying with barely a breath left."
