Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2725: Can Cause Secondary Injury
Poor child, used as a tool from birth.
Sylvan Cheney strode towards the delivery room.
Upon entering, he saw several nurses standing nervously by the door, whispering and at a loss.
When they saw Sylvan Cheney approaching, they fell silent and stopped talking.
Sylvan Cheney indifferently placed his hands in the pockets of his trousers. It was the quietest moment of the night.
"Mr. Evan, you’re here. Miss Janus is resting in the room, with someone accompanying her," a nurse said.
"Where’s the child?"
"Dr. Andy is holding her, a beautiful little girl. Since Miss Janus was emotional after giving birth, Dr. Andy took the baby to a special nursery to calm her. Once she is soothed, he will bring the baby to Miss Janus. Mr. Evan, why don’t you go see Miss Janus first? Her emotions are unstable and she may need some comfort. As her husband, your presence is best," the nurse responded politely.
Sylvan Cheney said nothing more, glanced at them, and turned around.
He went to the room.
Before he could step inside, he heard a weak but crying, sobbing voice from the doorway: "Go away!"
"Miss, please don’t exert yourself, or your wound will reopen. You just had surgery; straining yourself is not conducive to recovery and may cause further injury. It’s best to rest in bed. We’ll get you whatever you need," a servant’s voice came.
"I want you all to leave! Where’s the child? Give her to me, give her to me!"
"Miss, please talk to us, you can’t get emotional right after giving birth, Miss, please."
"Bring the child here, leave me alone!"
"Miss..."
Inside, people were still consoling Erin Janus, but Erin seemed out of control, completely unmanageable, screaming and yelling incessantly, almost hysterical.
Her voice was grating, mixed with sobs, curses, and resentment.
No amount of comforting from those inside helped.
Sylvan Cheney listened at the door for a while, with no reaction, and then indifferently turned away.
After a few steps, he overheard a group of nurses who had just left the delivery room washing their hands and chatting: "Did you see Miss Janus’s baby?"
"How could I not?"
"Oh my, the little girl is quite pretty, but with a head full of golden curls... it’s too much, right? Both her parents have black hair. Even if Miss Janus has UT genes, she wouldn’t give birth to a blonde girl, would she?"
"No idea, but the little girl does resemble Miss Janus, especially her eyes, although she doesn’t look like her father, that Mr. Evan, at all. What’s going on?"
"Who knows? Mr. Evan always accompanied Miss Janus for every check-up and even got her a luxurious villa to live in, showing utmost care. Seems like Mr. Evan hasn’t realized yet."
"Are you kidding? No matter how oblivious, won’t he see it when he looks at the child?"
"True, it’s impossible to hide."
"Speaking of which, Mr. Evan is the most handsome Oriental man I’ve seen. Apart from not smiling much, he has no flaws. Every time he comes to the hospital, I sneak a few glances! Hard to understand, having such a handsome husband beside you and still looking elsewhere?"
"Exactly, Mr. Evan is really handsome, but we’re not Miss Janus, how would we know what she’s thinking."
