Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2711: Sylvan Cheney Has Chosen to Surrender

  • Next Chapter

Erin spoke in a flurry of words.

However, Sylvan Cheney remained silent and did not say much.

Erin thought that was just his nature and didn’t think much of it: "I’ll see you later. I’ll be waiting for you. Bye, I’ll hang up now."

Sylvan still didn’t speak.

But Kieran Janus was deeply distressed, his dark eyes kept fixed on Sylvan Cheney until he put down the phone.

"Sylvan Cheney, you’re letting Erin down! She likes you so much, has been preparing for the wedding for a long time, even ordered the wedding dress. And you treat her like this? Didn’t she just tell a well-intentioned lie? Does it matter who saved you that much? Erin is sincere towards you; I’ve never seen her so passionate about a man!"

"Just a well-intentioned lie? Kieran, you and Erin really are father and daughter."

"Then Sylvan Cheney, have you thought about the consequences? You embezzled 10 billion from the James Group, the evidence is conclusive. If you dare touch the Janus Family, I’ll have the evidence sent up tomorrow!"

"And then? A sentence, right?" Sylvan Cheney chuckled lightly.

"At least 20 years of imprisonment. You’ll spend your next life in jail! You chose this mutually destructive outcome yourself, don’t blame me! I gave you a way out!"

"You don’t need to submit the evidence; I’ll turn myself in," Sylvan looked at Kieran calmly, his voice even, as if discussing something irrelevant to him.

"You..." Kieran was once again shocked.

Surrender... He never expected Sylvan would turn himself in.

This was his only bargaining chip against Sylvan, and Sylvan didn’t care about his threats.

"I won’t let anyone hold something against me for a lifetime, Kieran, your plan failed."

"What you’re doing is no different from being a fool! Clearly able to have wealth and rise to the top, owning a fortune worth billions, yet you choose another path, destroying the Janus Family and the James Group, and send yourself to prison! You’re a fool! You’ll gain nothing from this!"

"Right and wrong do not have clear boundaries. If I believe it’s right, I’ll do it. Kieran, you’re not qualified to lecture me."

Bright lights shone on Sylvan’s face, accentuating the sharp and defined features of his face. Under the light, his thin lips were tightly pursed, eyes deep, with a slight, unreadable curve at the corner of his mouth.

Their gazes met, eyes clashed.

Kieran was speechless.

What could he do with Sylvan? Sylvan had already chosen to turn himself in.

He couldn’t just shoot him dead; murder is illegal, and he didn’t want to send himself to jail.

Moreover, Erin was still in his hands.

Rain pattered, the torrential rain streaming down the transparent windows of the villa, carving streaks like endless cascading streams.

The night was boundless, silence infinite.

The two held their stand for a long while, neither spoke.

After a while, Sylvan picked up his jacket from the sofa, hanging it over his arm: "I have to go to the hospital, you can follow if you want."

"Sylvan Cheney, what do you plan to do about Erin?"

"What do you think I’ll do to her?" Sylvan looked at him leisurely, a smile playing on his lips.

"No matter what, she’s pregnant, don’t go too far!"

"Don’t worry, I won’t."

"And Sweetie? Even if you don’t like Erin, Sweetie is your daughter. What do you intend to do about your daughter? Abandon her?" Kieran’s emotions were intense; his eyes reddened, every word a reproach.
