Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2712: Is He Planning to Surprise Her?
Sylvan Cheney remained silent, not even answering any of Kieran Janus’s questions.
He stepped on the carpet and walked straight out of the villa.
Outside, the wind and rain were fierce. As soon as the door opened, a wave of icy cold wind blew against Sylvan Cheney’s face like a cold blade.
He squinted his eyes at the harsh wind and rain, taking big strides towards his Maybach.
The villa was brightly lit, as usual; the servants here were unaware that the Janus Family had undergone a change.
The street lights cast a dim light on the puddles on the ground, the puddles like mirrors reflecting light and illuminating the entire villa.
Sylvan Cheney sat in the car and turned on the headlights.
In no time, the Maybach disappeared into the rain like a swift rain swallow.
Kieran Janus was still dazed, but quickly reacted, taking out his phone to make a call: "Bring people to Old York International Hospital, I’ll be there soon."
The rain was pouring down.
Along the way, Sylvan Cheney’s mind was exceptionally clear, not even relying on nicotine to alleviate his emotions.
It was as if he suddenly felt relieved.
Yet his heart still had a missing piece, heavy to the point of suffocation.
The drive to the hospital took about twenty minutes.
Through the torrential rain, the view was somewhat blurry.
The hospital, a low American-style villa.
Erin Janus sat in front of the TV watching a drama, with a servant beside her peeling an apple.
"Pour me a glass of orange juice, I’m thirsty," Erin lazily leaned on the sofa, her expression indifferent.
She had just taken a bath, her hair half-dry, wearing a loose nightdress, appearing very languid and listless.
"Okay, Miss, please wait a moment."
Erin touched her belly, showing no particular emotion; she was merely waiting for Sylvan Cheney.
It was already quite late.
The unborn child showed no signs of coming; after a simple check-up today, the doctor said it might be another week.
She watched TV for a while, flipped through a magazine for a while, with little interest.
The wedding shoes were delivered today, still sitting on the cabinet.
The shoes were champagne-colored, with a glittering surface and diamond-encrusted heels, all made of pure gold and silver, supposedly costing hundreds of thousands.
While she was satisfied with the shoes, she was less satisfied that there was only one pair.
One pair is hardly enough for the wedding day; different occasions require different shoes.
But there’s still time; she’ll just prepare a few more pairs later.
Perhaps Sylvan Cheney overlooked it.
When he comes over, she’ll discuss the details with him; she has yet to see his wedding suit, shoes, and tie. Are they not ready yet? She really wants to take a look!
Sylvan Cheney’s doing things so mysteriously, could it be he wants to surprise her?
"Miss, your orange juice."
"Mm." Erin reached out to take it, gently stirring with the straw, her gaze softly resting on the television program.
Before long, she heard the sound of a car engine, putting down the orange juice and glancing at the servant.
"Has Mr. Evan arrived? Go down and have a look."
"Yes."
The servant rushed back and forth.
Before the servant returned, Sylvan Cheney had already bypassed the yard and pushed open the door to enter the living room.
The decor here was quite elegant, suitable for a patient resting, with a serene style.
"Evan!" Erin’s eyes brightened, seeing Sylvan Cheney striding towards her with his long legs, very pleased, "You finally came, I thought you wouldn’t come tonight!"
She stood up from the sofa and also walked towards Sylvan Cheney.
