Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 2700: Having Another Child
Erin Janus looked at Sylvan Cheney with aggrievance, walked to his side, and covered her stomach with one hand: "I really had a stomachache just now. It’s my first time being a mom, feeling a bit nervous is normal. Why did you yell at me? Do you not like this baby..."
She approached Sylvan Cheney.
In Sylvan Cheney’s eyes, she saw hidden anger and sharpness, as if a thin white mist concealed them, making it hard to see through.
Sylvan Cheney hadn’t spoken to her like this for a long time; she wasn’t used to it.
"If your stomach hurts, go to the hospital or call a doctor over!" Sylvan Cheney lowered his voice.
No one knew if it was because of the rain, but Sylvan Cheney’s mood was particularly irritable, even restless.
"Evan, what’s the matter with you? I asked you to come back from the company, are you unhappy about it? Isn’t this a husband’s duty? I’m going through a tough pregnancy—why shouldn’t you pamper me a bit when you come back from the company?" Erin Janus spoke softly, also somewhat dissatisfied.
"Get in the car. I’ll take you to the hospital."
Erin Janus didn’t argue with Sylvan Cheney.
She knew this man could be as cold as stone, impossible to warm up.
Though him coming home showed he still cared for her, just that his expression was off.
Thinking like this, Erin Janus stopped being angry and walked out of the villa to get into his car.
Sylvan Cheney personally drove to the hospital.
Erin Janus sat in the passenger seat, her anger subsiding slightly as she watched him drive carefully.
"Evan, it’s raining really hard today. Do you like rainy days?"
"There’s nothing to like or dislike."
"For our honeymoon... what are your plans? I’ll have just given birth, might not be able to do much, so maybe plan some relaxing, simple trips, like going on a hot air balloon ride? Or take a cruise to see the ocean, what do you think? Bringing our daughter along, just imagining it is so exciting."
Sylvan Cheney didn’t speak, gazing silently at the road ahead through the rain.
The car was moving not fast but steadily.
"Once the finance district project is done, spend more time with me and our daughter. Going out as a family, how nice. I used to love freedom and dislike constraints, but ever since I met you, I’ve found staying home quite nice," Erin Janus chattered on.
"Honey... I really like you..." Erin Janus flirtatiously teased Sylvan Cheney.
"Oh? Since when did you start liking me?" Sylvan Cheney raised an eyebrow.
"Back in Landon, when I rescued you, it was love at first sight."
Sylvan Cheney remained silent.
Erin Janus touched her belly, her face beaming with smiles.
In the dark, the car kept driving forward, splashing countless raindrops.
Soon, the car arrived at the hospital.
This hospital was where Erin Janus had been having her prenatal check-ups, familiar with her health conditions and provided specialized electronic records and fetal analysis, even her pregnancy diet and supplements were arranged by professionals.
"Doctor, how is it?" Erin Janus asked.
A UT female doctor finished the exam and reassured her: "Miss Alice, it’s fine, normal fetal movements. But since the due date is close, you can choose to be admitted."
"And the baby?"
"The baby is very healthy, certain to be a lively and lovely little princess."
"I’m scared of pain, can I not have a natural birth?"
"Natural birth allows for easier recovery. You might want to discuss with your husband, as it can also be beneficial for having another child," the doctor suggested.
